## What is Spelling Monster?

Make spelling practice fun with a friendly monster battle!

This app was created by a parent for his child.

My daughter is a Year 5 student in a public school in New South Wales, Australia. She wanted help practicing spelling at home, so I decided to build a small app for her. Using modern AI tools and Apple development tools, I created a simple and fun way for kids to practice spelling every day.

What started as a small project for my daughter has now grown into an app I hope can help many other students as well.


1. Carefully Selected Vocabulary (Years 1–12)

The app includes over 10000+ vocabulary words covering Grade 1 to Grade 6, designed to support students in Australian primary schools.

Each word includes:

• a clear and simple definition
• both Australian and American pronunciation generated with high-quality TTS
• vocabulary organized by grade level

Users can easily switch between Australian and American spelling and pronunciation modes at any time.

This makes it suitable for both learning new words and reviewing spelling practice.


2. Multiple Game Modes for Fun Learning

Spelling practice is brought to life through different game modes designed to keep kids engaged.

• Battle Mode – Spell words and compete against a friendly monster
• Timed Mode – Challenge yourself to spell as many words as possible in 60 seconds across multiple levels
• Monster Defense – Guess the hidden word letter by letter and stop the monster before it reaches the school

These modes turn learning into an interactive and motivating experience.


3. Master Words and Track Progress

Each grade contains a growing list of words to master.

Students can:

• practice words repeatedly
• gradually accumulate mastered vocabulary
• keep learning until the entire grade is completed

This encourages consistent daily practice and a sense of achievement.


4. Support for Australian and American Pronunciation

All words include both Australian and American pronunciation, helping students:

• hear accurate pronunciation in different standards
• improve listening skills
• connect spelling with real speech

Learners can switch between modes to match their school requirements or personal preference.


5. Built With Love by a Parent

My daughter loved using this app, and it helped her practice spelling in a fun and relaxed way.

I decided to share it for free so that other children and families can enjoy it as well.

I hope it can make learning spelling a little more enjoyable for everyone.
