I would recommend the five stars if you want to study for any type of SpellingNB and with this I pretty sure I’m really confident to win the SpellingNB. I don’t do premiums. Just my policy, but this means that other people like me would have to make 2 or 3 wordlists but otherwise it’s a great app. And really, it’s not too hard to make more than one wordlist. I’m rating a 3. Would be a 4 but with the whole multiple wordlist thing… Oh and btw to all the people giving it one star maybe that’s just bc u don’t like spelling. And someone mentioned their computer crashing? BUT… you cannot be tested on it without seeing the word! So that part is unfortunately completely useless. ***There needs to be an area where you can HEAR the word and then type it. Currently they SHOW the word then you type it with it right there in front of you.***** Also there needs to be an area that audibly SPELLS the word for your child - that would be helpful as well! I only wish there was an option where spellers could spell the word out loud, and maybe the parent could mark it as right or wrong. This app also does not give you a definition of the word, or a sentence as an example. I would only recommend for non-serious spellers, or for a simple 10-20 word test. The list my daughter is practicing with is part of the Scripps list, and it is a pain to list over 100 words in the app, as it takes a while to load audio too. Most of the time the female voice that plays the word does not pronounce the word very clearly and my daughter had to say Repeat the word, please over and over. Please look into these problems. One problem. *2025-11-23* This is a great app for spelling bee users. But wouldn't reccomend it for kids who are learning to pronounce words: has some wrong pronounciations with the TTS. So, you have to record your own voice recording. Also not quite good for spelling bee practice on its own. Not the most optimal. But you just have to pay 2 bucks one time for premium: so I won't complain!
