### 4/5 — Needs An Update

*2026-04-02, version 7.0.14*

I’ve enjoyed using the app, but it needs an update with the 2024 content. I’ve stopped using it since the content is no longer current.

### 4/5 — Multiclass?

*2025-08-16*

Love the app! Everything looks and feels great! Very easy to use and so helpful. only issue I have is there is no option for character multiclass. I can do only one class so for my most recent character I have to just favorite spells to remember what I have. Also not a big fan of having to pay for a subscription for some features. I could understand a single payment but not multiple. BUT it is a really good app so I did pay for it, worth, just not super happy about it.

### 4/5 — I love it!

*2025-06-10, version 7.0.14*

I love this app, clean and clear with perfect descriptions and beautiful illustrations. I would love to have the ability to multi-class in her as that is something I frequently do!

### 4/5 — Good

*2025-03-16, version 7.0.14*

This app is extremely useful and saved me endless time scrolling through spell descriptions in the player’s handbook. A downside is that some spells are locked behind a premium subscription

### 4/5 — There’s Just One Thing

*2025-01-20*

I really love this app and it’s super useful to me as a DM. There’s just one thing, and it’s that Satyr isn’t an option you can select as your race. If that were added as an option, I think this app would be basically perfect

### 4/5 — Great reference app, but in dire need of an update

*2024-12-18, version 7.0.14*

Any plans to update the spells to reflect 5e 2024?

### 4/5 — Vhyffidgjdgjdhsyreyreyrsrysyrshsyfdyfetudtudfsydfffyidjdjgdtudhfgjdjg

*2024-12-06, version 7.0.14*

Make prime free pls

### 4/5 — There’s Just One Thing

*2024-10-11*

I really love this app and it’s super useful to me as a DM. There’s just one thing, and it’s that Ranger isn’t an option you can select as your class. If that were added as an option, I think this app would be basically perfect

### 4/5 — Great app

*2024-05-02, version 7.0.14*

So firstly I want to state that this app is great I pay for the yearly subscription and everything. Now what would make it better is if it could track how many spells I can prepare like a number that goes oh your a wizard so add these together and boom this is how many spells you can prepare you know anyway this app is great and keep up the amazing work.

### 4/5 — Great! Just wish it had 1 more thing!

*2023-08-28*

I really love this app. It has helped so much while playing, having everything right there. The only thing I really wish I could do, especially when paying premium, is the ability to save spells to certain characters. Unless I’m missing something, I don’t see a way to currently do that. Running multiple games with different characters, it would be amazing if I had just what spells I’m using for a specific character at a time at my fingertips while playing.

### 4/5 — Only problem is the gatekeeping

*2023-08-24*

If they didn’t have a premium subscription and had adds instead this would be way better

### 3/5 — Needs a prepared spells list

*2023-03-08, version 7.0.14*

The spell descriptions and artwork are really nice but I wish there was a way to see all the spells I have prepared as a separate list. Right now you need to scroll through all the spells of a particular level with the prepared/learned spells outlined in green. It’s a hassle.

### 5/5 — Great

*2022-06-02, version 7.0.3*

I use this app constantly. Both when playing and not. It’s so useful to just instantly get spells. I use the subscription which is quite affordable it’s like $12 a year or something. You can make characters and favourite spells and keep track of spell slots. You can add home brew spells but I haven’t used it.

## Most critical reviews (10 lowest-rated)

### 1/5 — L game

*2025-04-26, version 7.0.14*

I can’t look at my Homebrew spells

### 1/5 — Yikes

*2024-04-10, version 7.0.14*

Oof it’s very bad

### 1/5 — Decent App; Subscription Ridiculous

*2023-05-29, version 7.0.14*

The database of spells and usability is good and I would be willing to pay a small price for the app.
Pay for, once, then use.
An annual subscription however makes the price point for this app outrageously expensive for what it is.

### 1/5 — So many spells behind a paywall

*2021-12-06, version 6.0*

I like the look and the art used for the spells, but it feels like every other spell I click on flashes that paywall. Every time it does I use a different app that doesn’t make me pay to read a spell description. It got to the point where I just can’t use the app anymore

### 1/5 — Account deleted!

*2020-06-28, version 3.0.7*

Loved this app at first but my annual pro account was deleted and I lost all my characters. :(

### 2/5 — Needs 5.5e update

*2026-05-25, version 7.0.14*

Only has 2014 spells

### 2/5 — Hobbled without Premium *Subscription*

*2026-04-10*

This looks like it might be a great app, but only if you subscribe (for $2/month or $10/year), and you can’t tell if it really is good without subscribing. The free app can’t compete with the basic functionality in other free apps. Now, I’ll pay for a good app, but I won’t tolerate a subscription unless the nature of the app requires substantial ongoing investment by the developer. This app is decidedly static, so I won’t even consider a subscription. The only thing they need to do is add spells from new books, when one comes out, and they could provide those as one time in-app purchases. Paywalled features include adding spells from other classes, access to various books, adding subclasses, tracking spell slots, etc. You *might* be able to use it for a basic character from the PHB, but even a little bit of complexity would require a subscription. The UI doesn’t mark paywalled features, so you have to blunder into the upgrade dialogs until you learn what to avoid. On the up side, it’s pretty, the art for the spells seems like it would help quickly recognize spells, and it seems easy to use. When you set up your character you get to set race and variant, class and variant, level, and spell casting attribute. It could automatically calculate everything including available spells, # of spells known, spell slots and special spells granted by various factors. Could is the key word there, who knows if it does.

### 2/5 — Look good but

*2023-01-08*

Some of the core features that I’m interested in are locked behind monthly payments which is just dumb. I would 100% pay a one time fee just based off the little bit I did interact but a subscription is just not something I’m remotely interested in. I already have too many to keep track of.

### 2/5 — Pretty art but some spells locked behind a paywall

*2022-11-13*

I tried this out to replace another spell app I have that added annoying ads. This one whenever I wanted to add anything from Tasha’s it was paywalled for premium users. The art is kinda cool but also the layout of things means you’re scrolling quite far to look through your entire spell list. Basically the app like any of the others are pirating this material so for them to charge money and paywall spells for someone else’s copyrighted stuff just feels scummy to me.

### 2/5 — Redundant

*2021-08-25, version 5.5.3*

I love the images but I hate how I constantly have to restore my purchase on the app. It makes it difficult to have access to my spells when I have no service

## Most praised reviews (10 highest-rated)

### 5/5 — Great Tool

*2025-01-14, version 7.0.14*

Has all the 5e spells nicely consolidated! Hoping they make/add the 2024 reworked spells soon!

### 5/5 — DM’s best friend

*2024-10-13, version 7.0.14*

Great dm tool to keep track of spells use it whenever my players have questions about their spells

### 5/5 — Please update

*2024-09-22, version 7.0.14*

The app is awesome. But the new 2024 rule is out. Please update!

### 5/5 — This app is awesome

*2024-07-10*

This app has become an essential part of playing a spell caster for me. The spell descriptions are all on point. Allowing you to choose your race and class really helps in times where I would have to flip through the players handbook past spells I or couldn’t obtain, which wasn’t a huge hassle but this definitely makes it easier and clears it up. Choosing a race that gets innate spellcasting will add the spells you are able to cast into the pool of spells you can choose to learn/prepare. It keeps track of spell slots, spell attack modifiers, and your spell save DC. The app lets you make multiple characters and choose their class accordingly, even the subclasses of each class are on the app and add the appropriate spells to your list. Everything is so convenient and easy to digest. A couple things I would like to see added to the app are;
A way to account for multiclassing, and feats. Spell slot calculator, keeping track of both Spell Save DCs ( if they are different stats), and a way to account Magic Initiate, Fey Touched, Etc. They have a way to add spells from any list to yours if need be so this really isn’t an issue though.
Overall I really can’t speak to how much I love the app. I tell all my friends about it any chance I get I stand by it is a tool that I’m very happy to have access to.

### 5/5 — Love this!

*2023-11-01, version 7.0.14*

I love this! It’s so nice! Is there a way to edit a home brew spell? It won’t let me click mine

### 5/5 — Perfect

*2023-09-28, version 7.0.14*

There’s nothing in this world I love more than dnd and having every spell in one click is so useful, perfect

### 5/5 — Best Spell App

*2023-09-25, version 7.0.14*

I love this app so incredibly much. I legit cant find a better D&D spell app and i wish more people knew about this. My only wish is for it to be ported to android. I’m switching and would gladly pay so i can use it on my new phone. Devs, your the best and no amount of praise will do this app justice.

### 5/5 — Renewed with pleasure

*2023-06-15*

I gotta be honest. I had canceled my subscription, but then renewed it. I just depend on this too much. That seemed silly to me since I have all of the books and DND Beyond sources as well, but… this just works better. I cannot thank you all enough for making this app. I have been doing D&D since I was a kid in HS. Now I am in my 50s. Great Work everyone, I hope more people support you and your product. I would hate to see this disappear one day.

### 5/5 — A God send for organizing my spells

*2023-02-28, version 7.0.14*

Even has homebrew options! That’s what sold me!

### 5/5 — Great DND tool for spells!!

*2022-12-09, version 7.0.14*

Best D&D spell app on the App Store!!
