## What is Spendr?

Let's be honest: the reason most budget planner apps gather dust is never the math. It's the setup. A profile to create, a currency to pick from a list of two hundred, a merchant field nobody fills in twice. By day three, tracking your spending is a chore, and the receipts pile up in a coat pocket instead. Spendr skips the whole ritual. Type a number, tap a category, and you're done — before the barista has finished making change.

HOW IT WORKS
1. Type — the amount lands on a big keypad the second you open the app. No login screen, no onboarding quiz standing between you and the first entry.
2. Tap — pick a category from a grid you can reorder, rename, or extend with an icon of your own. The ones you reach for most end up right under your thumb.
3. Done — the number flies off the screen, logged. No save button, no "are you sure" popup asking permission to move on with your day.

WHY SPENDR
- A money manager that keeps your data yours. Everything lives on your phone, in a local database, full stop. Nothing to sign up for, no password to forget, no server sitting somewhere that could one day leak it — because there isn't one.
- Any currency, zero setup. Amounts show up as plain numbers, no symbol, no code stapled to the front. The same install tracks your spending whether you're counting pesos in Lisbon or dollars at home, with no settings screen in between.
- Two fields, not ten. An amount and a category — that's the whole form. Most expense tracker apps still want a merchant name, a note, and a payment method before they let you get on with your life.
- Recurring bills, on autopilot. Flip a switch once for rent, a phone plan, or that streaming subscription you forgot you had, and it logs itself every month, tagged "auto" so you always know which entries you made and which the app did.
- A spending breakdown without a spreadsheet in sight. Income and expenses by day, month, or year, split by group in a simple bar chart, ready the moment there's something to show.
- A backup file entirely your call. It's locked with a recovery code only you ever see, generated right on your device. Nothing travels anywhere unless you decide to send it.
- Light and dark themes built to be read at a glance, not just admired — because a personal finance app you open daily should feel calm, not like clocking in.
