## What is Sphere?

The fast calorie tracker, built on USDA data.

Say what you ate or snap a photo, and it's logged. Use Sphere free, no subscription and no card. Upgrade to Premium for photo logging, macros and more.

JUST SAY WHAT YOU ATE
"Two eggs, toast and a coffee." One sentence, no typing, and every food lands in your log. Voice logging is free. Start it from a Lock Screen widget or Control Center, too.

FOOD DATA YOU CAN TRUST
12,000 everyday foods measured by the USDA. When a food isn't there, AI fills the gap with an estimate, and you can fix any portion in one tap: cups, ounces, grams or calories.

SEARCH THAT PUTS PLAIN FOODS FIRST
Everyday foods come before branded products, so the food you meant is usually the top result.

MISS A DAY, KEEP YOUR STREAK
Earn skip days as you log. Take a day off and your streak is still there when you come back. No reminders on your off days.

SAME LUNCH AGAIN?
Copy a meal from yesterday and paste it into today. Saved meals and recent foods are one tap away.

SET YOUR CALORIE GOAL IN A MINUTE
A built-in calorie deficit calculator turns your age, height, weight and pace into a daily target, whether you want to lose, maintain or gain.

FREE
• Voice logging and food search
• Daily calorie goal and deficit calculator
• Streaks and skip days
• Water tracking
• Works offline, syncs when you're back

PREMIUM
• Photo logging: snap your plate, calories filled in
• Barcode scanning
• Macro tracking: protein, carbs, fat and more
• Progress and weight charts
• Apple Health sync

Premium is billed through your Apple ID and renews automatically unless you cancel at least 24 hours before the period ends. Manage or cancel anytime in your App Store account settings.

### 5/5 — Great performance

*2026-09-03*

I’m comparing it day by day to Chronometer and it’s returning almost identical results.

### 5/5 — Works better than most

The food recognition by camera is amazing— I think it even identified that it was basil in my pasta!😎🍝

Definitely recommend trying it!

## Version history (last 5 releases)

### 2.0.3 — 2026-09-24

We refreshed our App Store page. The app works just as it did before.

### 2.0.2 — 2026-09-23

Signing in is simpler. Enter your email and we'll send you a 6-digit code, with no password to remember. Prefer a password? It's still there, and if you forget it you can set a new one right in the app.

Sphere now uses the new glass look for its buttons and bars, and your meals scroll softly beneath them.

Add Food opens faster, with the keyboard ready as the screen appears.

Foods logged more than once read naturally, like "2 slices".

### 2.0.1 — 2026-09-15

Copy and paste a meal. Long press any food or any meal on Home to copy it, then paste it into another meal, or swipe to another day and paste it there. A meal you eat often no longer means logging the same thing twice.

Also in this update:
- Log any food by weight or by calories. Grams and calories now sit alongside a food's own units, including foods you logged from a photo.
- Fixed a problem where an expired sign-in could leave the app looking signed in while anything you logged quietly failed to save.

### 2.0.0 — 2026-09-11

Sphere 2.0 is our biggest update yet, built around logging a meal in seconds.

- Better Meal Handling: Home shows each meal as one row with its photo or food pictures, total calories and items.
- Snap and go: take a photo or type what you ate and get on with your day. Sphere logs it in the background and lets you know when it's done.
- Log by voice: tap the mic in the search bar, or use the widget, Control Center or the Action Button, and just say what you ate.
- Meal details: tap a meal to see its photo, macros and items, set how much of it you ate, or fix it in plain words with Quick Fix ("that was two eggs, not one").
- Faster photo results, smarter search, and coffee drinks with realistic calories in every size.
- Barcodes work much more reliably.

### 1.1.3 — 2026-09-02

Net carbs are here. Turn on "Track net carbs" in Settings > Nutrition and your carbs ring becomes net carbs (carbs minus fiber) with its own goal - on your dashboard, in My Progress, and in the widget.

Also in this update:
- My Progress opens instantly, even with a long weight history
- The macro chart keeps your selection when you change date ranges
- Viewing a past day now shows which day you're on
- More accurate nutrition data across hundreds of foods
- Small fixes and polish throughout
