I upgraded because I hated the ads but now I rarely win. If you’re thinking of upgrading, don’t waste your money. The ads are a pain but at least you can win once in a while! ### 3/5 — A fun game with many possibilities *2024-09-20, version 7.17* The Spider game is much more fun to play on OS than my computer since all spots don’t have to be filled to bring more cards down. It’s annoying that when you let the game move cards, it won’t use those without more cards under them plus it avoids those with kings underneath and puts them on queens instead. ### 5/5 — Back setting. *2024-09-04, version 7.17* I uses an iPad to play spider solitaire. Oftentimes I accidentally touch the back icon in the lower left corner of the gams screen. This cause everything to close and I have to then press the resume icon from the menu. It would be helpful to move the back icon to the upper left corner so that one does not accidentally touch the back button where it currently resides on the iPad screen. While at times it can be frustrating, most of the time it sharpens mental skills necessary for organizing and recall as it rewards for patience. It’s fantastic at keeping my mind sharp, making me develop strategies, delighting my mental creativity the way chess does. When my laptop died and I finally bought an iPad, I had to get an app for it. I checked several versions, having played several versions on several computers and become aware of the important differences among them, such as the awful inability on some to un-do past a deal or past sending a set home. This version allows both of those capacities. Fortunately, it also allows me to turn those awful noises like canned applause and little beeps off. And I also appreciate an inexpensive upgrade to get rid of the ads. Amazingly, it has a three-suit level: four sets of spades, two of hearts and two of diamonds, giving me a level in between my regular two-suit and my rarely attempted four-suit challenge. This is a fantastic plus. The only thing I miss is the re-do button. I used to un-do by clicking the back arrow back until I had an empty stack, maybe all the way back to the previous deal, and then re-do with the forward button until I saw a good alternative to a moves I had made. Sometimes on a particularly interesting game, I would un-do all the way to the beginning and then re-do forward until I saw an option that I had not seen the first time. I really miss being able to do that on this version, but that’s its only fault. Thank you, designer of this; just please give us a forward arrow in the next upgrade. ### 5/5 — Best spider solitaire *2024-04-27, version 7.17* This is an excellent version of spider solitaire. It’s a great stress relief. Unfortunately, with release 7.11 that supposedly fixed bugs, a new major bug was introduced. The game no longer gets accurate dimensions from the screen. The left and right aisles are halfway off the screen, and taps are inaccurate. I hate to slam a product before attempting to right the problem. I filed a defect report on their preferred channel. Notifying the developers offline has proven useless, however, so I’m left resorting to shaming them with a critical review. ### 1/5 — Was great... Recently, I upgraded to the pay version along with my iPhone 12 Pro and the view on the screen is slightly off the edge length wise and the touch on cards is to the bottom left. This may have started with the latest iOS update. I’ve been checking for updates for this app since.
