### 3/5 — Nice app but can’t create a profile

*2022-05-30, version 2.0.6*

I can’t save my projects to a profile so I can’t transfer them between my laptop and iPad. Frustrating!! I have to do them all over again

**Developer response:** We're sorry for the frustration. Don't worry, you can still share projects between devices. On your iPad, tap on "My Projects," then choose individual projects with the small circle in the upper left of each project. Tap on "Share" for sharing options or to save it to Files. If that doesn't do the trick, get in touch at LEGO.build/Service-Apple so we can help. 📲 - John, LEGO® Customer Service

### 2/5 — Initial connection issues sour the experience

*2022-03-23, version 2.0.5*

My enthusiasm for the Spike Prime platform was immediately dampened in the first steps of the "getting started" tutorial when the app would not connect to the hub via bluetooth. Searching online support suggested updating the hub's OS, which must be done via USB the first time. Computer had only USB-C ports, so I had to order an adapter to continue. OS update completed, but didn't fix the bluetooth problem. I was finally able to get it to connect wirelessly when I skipped the tutorial and created a new program. Once connected, I was able to go back and start the tutorials.

**Developer response:** We're very sorry for the frustrating experience, but we're glad that the issue you're having got resolved. 🛠️ Thanks for your feedback! 📝 If you need any further assistance, please don't hesitate to contact us via this link ➡️ LEGO.build/Service-Apple, we're always happy to help! 📞 - Alina, LEGO® Customer Service

### 5/5 — good but taking a long time conecting hub

*2021-12-06, version 2.0.3*

good but taking a long time conecting hub(but not always.)I noticed that this version includeded 2in1 kits & also includes step-by-step instuctions & teacher resources & more units then the previous version

**Developer response:** We're glad you're enjoying the app! Be sure that there are no other Bluetooth devices nearby causing interference when trying to connect. To reset the connection, go to the Settings app and select Apps. Tap the more icon and select Show System apps. Then go to Bluetooth>Storage>Clear Cache. ### 5/5 — Units keep deleting

*2021-11-23, version 2.0.3*

The 6 different units have to be re-downloaded ALL the time. It’s unbelievably frustrating when every time I want to get on the app with the kids and do an activity and find that all the units need to be downloaded again. It wouldn’t be so bad if they didn’t take so long but they’re fairly large file sizes. Other than that it’s a great app and easy for the kids to use.

**Developer response:** Thanks for taking the time to leave us a review and share your experience with us. Your feedback always helps us get better and better, so we'll definitely pass this along to our developers. 🙂📲 Be sure to stay tuned for any awesome new updates! 👀🔎 - Sonia, LEGO® Customer Service

### 3/5 — Software is buggy-- hard time using it for my class

*2021-11-18, version 2.0.3*

I use these kits for my engineering class. We have had problems with the hub connection for 4/12 classes so far this year. I have spent hours on the phone with customer support, and it's still unpredictable. Otherwise the system is great.

**Developer response:** We're sorry to hear you're having trouble connecting your hub. We would to help and have things investigated further so please reach out again to our experts at LEGO.build/LETechSupport-Apple so we can help! ☎️📧 Thanks for your feedback. 😊 - Sonia, LEGO® Customer Service

## Most critical reviews (10 lowest-rated)

### 1/5 — Bad

*2023-02-07, version 2.0.10*

Don’t get it it is very bad

### 1/5 — Unit plan content isn’t loading right now

*2022-11-06, version 2.0.8*

Is there a server-side (CDN) outage? I can open the lesson plans, but none of the images load in the app. I’ve also navigated to the lesson plans on the website and I can see text load, but not images.

This is our first time using the app… not a good sign at all.

**Developer response:** We’re sorry you’re having trouble with the app, but we’re here to help! 🦾 Just get in touch at LEGO.build/LETechSupport-Apple and we’ll be happy to take a look into things. 🙂🔎 - Elisa, LEGO® Customer Service

### 1/5 — Nice app, but can't move files

*2021-12-05, version 2.0.3*

Works great on one computer. Trying to move files to consolidate programs on one robot before our tournament this weekend. Spent all afternoon and can't get moved programs to open. Really frustrated.

**Developer response:** We're very sorry for the frustrating experience. Reach out to our experts at LEGO.build/Service-Apple and they'll be happy to give you any tips and tricks! 💬🙂 - Heather, LEGO® Customer Service

### 1/5 — Absence of building instructions +

*2021-10-30, version 2.0.3*

Downloaded once and no building instructions on app. Updated iPad and downloaded again and still no building instructions. This issue, the kit having little instruction on what to do to get started, and confusing info on lego education site, equals for us, a very not so easy beginning experience compared to we do 2.0. It would be great if lego could address functionality challenges. Thank you.

**Developer response:** Thanks for your suggestions. Your feedback always helps us get better and better, so we really appreciate it! Be sure to stay tuned for any awesome new updates from our developers. 🔎🙂 - Heather, LEGO® Customer Service

### 1/5 — Videos broken

*2021-10-06, version 2.0.2*

No unit lesson plan videos will play after updating to iOS 15

### 1/5 — Hi

*2021-06-01, version 1.3.5*

Hi

### 1/5 — Bluetooth Connectivity Non-Functional On iPad Pro

*2021-02-20, version 1.3.3*

The App works, however attempts to connect the Spike Hub to the App via Bluetooth results in a warning that the Hub needs to be updated - which can only be done via a Windows or Mac. Upon connecting the Spike Hub to a Windows machine running the latest version of the application, the Hub is updated. Disconnecting the Hub from the PC, and then reattempting to connect back to the iPad Pro via the App results in the same error message - Update the Hub. But the Hub is already updated! So basically - the portability offered by Bluetooth connectivity is dead... Until this is fixed, one-star and I do not recommend anyone procure this system until this is addressed.

**Developer response:** Make sure that you have iOS 14 or higher and that there are no other Bluetooth devices nearby causing interference. It seems you've already tried updating the hub OS, which is recommended. Please try to reset the connection: Go to the Settings app and select Bluetooth. Select the device and click forget this device, then restart the iPad. 📱 Still no luck or need more help? Please visit LEGO.build/LETechSupport-Apple for further support. 📞

### 1/5 — App keeps freezing and losing Bluetooth connection

*2020-12-24, version 1.3.3*

$300 and it doesn’t work

### 1/5 — App cannot be opened

*2020-07-11, version 1.2.1*

It works after the first installation but can no longer be opened. First I thought it might be an app issue so I installed it on iPad Pro and now I have the same problem. I paid over $300 for spike and now my boys can’t use it because of this flawed app. I am going to request a full refund! What a waste of time.

### 1/5 — Please fix the app crash

*2020-06-15, version 1.2.0*

The App can’t open at third time usage. I don’t want to reinstall the app every time to get access the content.

### 5/5 — Spike essential and spike prime

*2023-10-26*

You do know y you called it spike prime, because you animate them

### 5/5 — Awesome app, also I have some solutions for some issues

*2022-11-20, version 2.0.8*

This app is really good. I use it for first lego league, the coding stuff is awesome!

If you can’t connect to your hub, you should try two things.
1. If the underside of the hub is hollow, you need to put in the rechargeable battery. The rechargeable battery is another yellow blocky thing in your kit, smaller than the Hub. Just slide the battery into the hollow part of the Hub, and it should work fine.
2. First, close the SPIKE window if it’s already open, Then, turn on your Hub by holding the round button. Connect to your hub in your Bluetooth section of your settings, and THEN open the SPIKE window.

If there aren’t any building instructions, you have to download a unit plan first. Just click “Unit Plans” or tap the “Units” section at the bottom and download one.

If you are coding something and the Hub icon at the top is orange/yellow and says the word “Connect”, your Hub is not connected. If it has a blue outline, then your Hub is connected.

**Developer response:** We're so glad to hear you’re such a big fan and shared such helpful tips. 😀📲 Thanks for taking the time to let us (and others) know, your feedback is really appreciated. 👏 - Michael, LEGO® Customer Service

### 5/5 — Nice!

*2022-11-13, version 2.0.8*

I love it!

### 5/5 — Amazing, but glitchy

*2022-10-29, version 2.0.8*

The Spike app is a joy to have and it gives step-by-step problems to fix. But when I am trying to connect my hub, it will not work, how many times I try. Rebooting my device, reinstalling, nothing really works. I don’t know if it is the hub or my device, but overall very good app to use. Especially if trying out for FLL Leauge

**Developer response:** Make sure that there are no other Bluetooth devices nearby causing interference. We'd recommend updating the hub OS before use. To reset the connection, go to the Settings app and select Bluetooth. Select the device and click forget this device, then restart the iPad. 📱 For more help, please visit LEGO.build/LETechSupport-Apple. 📞 - Elisa, LEGO® Customer Service
