## What is SpinDeck?

SpinDeck is a music player for people who miss the joy of physically reaching for their music. Spin the on-screen wheel under your thumb, flip through your library cover-first in the Album Carousel, and play music the way it was meant to feel.

THE SPIN WHEEL
A circular, tactile control at the heart of the app. Spin to navigate — momentum, friction, and haptics tuned until it feels physical. Tap to select. Long-press for menus.

ALBUM CAROUSEL
Browse your library cover-first. Beautiful artwork, big and front-and-center, the way music was meant to be discovered.

PICK YOUR ERA
Four built-in themes:
- SpinDeck Copper — the new signature look
- 2001 Edition — warm LCD, classic feel
- 2007 Edition — bolder, more modern
- Classic — clean, minimal, monochrome

YOUR LIBRARY, OFFLINE
Point SpinDeck at your own music. Bring a Subsonic-compatible personal media server, or use local files on your device — and it just plays. No catalog lock-in. No streaming account required.

NO ADS. NO TRACKING.
Zero ad networks. Zero cross-app profiling. Settings and credentials stay on your device, in the secure Keychain. Listening is a private act again.

START LISTENING IMMEDIATELY
SpinDeck ships with 12 royalty-free demo tracks (from Pixabay, zero attribution required) so you can experience the full app on first launch. Remove them anytime from Settings.

CARPLAY READY
Take SpinDeck with you. CarPlay support built in.

This is the music player you remember, rebuilt for the phone in your hand.

## Version history (last 3 releases)

### 1.0.5 — 2026-10-06

Polish and stability improvements across browsing and playback. Thanks for listening with SpinDeck!

### 1.0.1 — 2026-09-17

Pad Color now paints the whole pad, not just the hairline and labels. SpinDeck keeps its charcoal body; every other preset takes its own copper, silver or graphite ramp, with labels picked for contrast.

Pad click and tick sounds are back. They no longer ride on the system keyboard click, so the ring switch and the Keyboard Clicks setting can't silence them.

The next 10 tracks are cached to disk, so playback keeps going when the network drops out. 2 GB, oldest first.

Apple Music tells you what went wrong. Denied, restricted and empty-library cases each say so plainly, and a source that fails to connect falls back to one that works instead of leaving you on an unconfigured Music Server.

System (Auto) theme follows iOS light and dark. Pick it once and the chassis changes with the rest of your phone.

SpinDeck comes to the Mac. The whole app — browsing, music servers, Apple Music, EQ and themes — with a mini player that lives in the menu bar next to the clock, so you can see what's playing and skip a track without opening a window.

Demo songs step aside once you connect a real library, and come back if you remove it.

Rate SpinDeck from Settings, and a smoother first-run walkthrough.
