## What is Spine Impairment?

Spine Impairment Calculator is a professional reference tool for calculating permanent impairment of the spine under the AMA Guides to the Evaluation of Permanent Impairment, 5th Edition (Chapter 15), with an optional overlay for the Queensland GEPI 2nd Edition.

Built for orthopaedic surgeons, occupational physicians and medico-legal assessors, it covers both AMA methods and shows its working at every stage, including the jurisdiction-correct rule for each region.

METHODS COVERED
• Diagnosis-Related Estimates (DRE) — cervical, thoracic and lumbar (Tables 15-3 / 15-4 / 15-5), with ADL adjustment (GEPI §4.35)
• Range of Motion (ROM) method — inclinometer-based, with diagnosis (Table 15-7) and spinal nerve deficits (§15.8d)
• Corticospinal tract impairment (Table 15-6, sub-tables a–g)
