Eventually the spinning drum inside got stuck and no amount of cleaning or regreasing could fix it. Spent $30 waiting 6 weeks to replace the drum (vs $200 and wait to send the whole machine in for repair…which we’ve also done once but while it was still under their initial guarantee window). Still didn’t work. Out of the blue the machine turned on and started working again a few days ago, only now it’s much louder. My guess is that a software update is bypassing whatever error it was throwing before that kept the drum from spinning. it sounds like an airplane taking off now every cup and every cup is incredibly weak now. ### 2/5 — Great coffee; nonexistent help desk & excessive accessories req’d *2026-05-21, version 3.51.2* Kudos for a machine that makes excellent coffee. But if you ever have an issue with your machine, good luck! There is no one to call. You submit an online query- and receive an auto response about someone will get back to you in a few days. It’s crazy for such an expensive machine. If I want to make a pot of coffee for my family each morning, then too bad! Each person will have to stand in line while SpinnBot 9000Z makes cups of coffee one-by-one, pausing in between for “cleaning.” The 60 minutes your family spend meandering around the kitchen with their morning breath awaiting their individual cups will give them a chance to post their own one-star reviews on how pointlessly complicated this device remains. ### 1/5 — Always breaks *2025-09-17, version 3.50.1* We’ve had our machine break down due to a grinder block 3x now. It’s such a frequent issue they have that they even will sell you a tool to try to fix it at home. We’ve sent our machine in 2x and it keeps breaking. They charge you $200 just for the repair and shipping alone. They are prompt to reply to the support chat, but they are not great at customer service skills. They do not show any sympathy for the frustration of these issues nor do they really seem to care. Their replies are robotic and they refuse to meet the customer half way. On top of that, they always take well over a year for their preorders to be filled. We preordered the Spinn 2 and it’s been a year past the release date and we still haven’t received it. We enjoyed the machine when it worked. But it is not worth the cost and frequent issues the machine carries, with the less than warm support team. ### 1/5 — Error message *2025-08-03, version 3.50.1* Machine is constantly going into air or the red ring of death. I took the risk because I was intrigued by their claims, and I have to say that I have not been disappointed. I’ve had my Spinn machine for years now and use it everyday, sometimes even multiple times a day, and I can honestly say that it never disappoints. It makes the perfect cup of coffee each time, made to my specs, and every sip is always pleasant. I highly recommend the Spinn, even to the most speculative coffee enthusiasts.
