## What is SpiralCam?

M42 Orion Nebula and M51 Whirlpool Galaxy by Mike Weasner.
M83 Pinwheel Galaxy by Yongchong Loh.

It is not easy to capture the spiral arm of galaxy. The app is made in Singapore and is able to capture galaxy M83 on 114mm and 8" telescope. Demo video at https://youtu.be/oeMnA4v2Ejc

It takes about a minute to see the spiral arm of M83 on a manual Dobsonian 8" telescope.

This app uses long exposure and image stacking. It automatically takes care of star finding, tracking, alignment and stacking. It reveals things that you cannot see in your telescope alone. It is design for use on manual, goto or eq mount.

Requirement: a simple phone adapter to attach to the telescope eyepiece. You can get it from online store.

Instruction: Manual focus your telescope to a DSO. Insert phone adapter with eyepiece into the telescope. Press start to view deep sky gems. Move the telescope to keep the galaxy in sight of the eyepiece view. The software will take care of finding the stars and stack them.

Note: You can press start and the app will automatically select stars for tracking. Alternatively, you can select 2 stars and press start button. After the app starts tracking, you can still select different star for tracking. To select a star, tap the star on the screen.

Nebula button: Activate it (turns white color) if you imaging bright object such as Orion Nebula. If you are imaging faint object such as galaxies, do ensure the Nebula button is not pressed (in red color).

For amateur astronomer.

### 5/5 — Unbelieable app

*2020-10-18*

Amazing app, works like magic on any size scope to show much more details than what your eyes can see. Even compensates for your inaccurate mounts by basic tracking, and stacks like crazy.

**Developer response:** Thanks so much for your generous review. Please tell your friends! And share some photos at ustransit74@gmail.com. Thank you.

### 5/5 — Bad

*2019-10-27*

For one I don’t even know how to run it and it’s the most confusing thing ever created and for 2 it can barely capture anything terrible and use something else

**Developer response:** The latest update has simplified user interface with a setting to advance control. Thank you.

### 1/5 — Crashes

*2019-08-03*

Unfortunately the app crashes

**Developer response:** The crash on iPhone 8 is fixed with latest update. Thank you.

### 1/5 — CRASHES ‼️

*2019-04-23*

As much as I wish I had something great to say about this app, because I really REALLY WANTED IT TO WORK, I unfortunately have nothing good to say about it because all It does is CRASH ‼️ I have uninstalled it, reinstalled it, repeat, repeat, repeat....NOTHING ‼️ If I’m having these issues, I’m venturing to say, so are others ‼️ So maybe you should yank it, fix it, redesign it, do something with it and at least I will give it another try one day?❓But, maybe if you start by using this review, that would show me and perhaps any other backyard astronomers frustrated by this app...ya know like me that get excited by iPhone Astrophotography apps because we’re all on budgets and would be thrilled if half of these things worked .... well maybe then I’ll give it another try and maybe, just maybe write a cool review for you!!!
Let’s see what ya do?!?!

**Developer response:** The crash on iPhone 8 is fixed with latest update. Thank you.
