Easy to use and Jagged Earth update is complete. It would be interesting to see more achievements like different types of victories (example: Where did everybody go? It even has the main-board setups for each spirit, which are printed on the back of the player boards, so we always forget to check them until after having put all our presence tokens on the other side of the player boards. ## Most critical reviews (10 lowest-rated) ### 1/5 — Adding DLCs Cost money *2025-10-30, version 2.6.1* The DLCs cost money. 3$ for each one. Kind of ridiculous ### 1/5 — Beware: Jagged Earth content has errors! *2020-12-17, version 2.1.1* I used to use this app as a great tool! Recently got Jagged Earth (which cost money to buy in-app), and was disheartened to see that some of the listed text is flat out wrong...not just misleading, but wrong. As one example, Lure of the Deep Wilderness in the app has the exact opposite of the actual rule listed as its “Enthrall the Foreign Explorers” ability. In the game, this ability allows you to ignore up to 2 explorers per presence in the land during the Ravage phase and all Ravage events. The app says you can ignore up to 2 explorers per presence *except* during the Ravage phase and all Ravage events. There are other blatant errors as well. Buyer beware: there is information in this app that is completely misleading! Too bad, because with some clean up it could become an amazing app! ### 2/5 — Cost? Interface? *2024-11-11, version 2.6.1* The interface is passable, but the game-level integration is not sound. Sure, you can leave notes, but they aren’t connected to anything, and there is no tool to make it easier to connect Spirits to future games or one another in any informed manner. The worst part? That’s easy: they charge for content, despite there being only three rules about making such tools, with the first rule being no charging for it. Oh well. I guess I will just finish up my superior product and release everything for free. ### 3/5 — Love the App *2020-10-04, version 2.1.1* Would be 5 stars if the difficulty worked right. Points are miscalculated when scoring. The difficulty will not change. Otherwise a great app. The scoring used to work great prior to jagged earth. ### 3/5 — Good app, wrong scoring for defeats *2020-05-25, version 1.4.2* In my copy of spirit island (8th printing) scoring has a different formulas for victory and defeat. This app appears to use only the victory scoring formula for both victory and defeat. Otherwise great tracker app otherwise ### 4/5 — Fear card counts incorrect *2022-11-13, version 2.4.2* Love this app, great for quick reference. Did notice an error on the fear card counts though. Was playing Sweden 4 and happened to notice that the app doesn’t match the card from the actual game on several levels when listing how to setup the Fear deck. Checked all the adversary cards and noticed several other errors as well. Most notably, almost every adversary has incorrect Fear card numbers for level 2. That’s probably a quick fix and then I’d give 5 Stars. Keep up the good work!! ### 4/5 — Tweak the elements *2021-10-12, version 2.3* I love the app. Hate using the physical tokens when playing with more than 2 people. Problem is, there isn’t a way to remove progress elements once you set them. I have to start a new game each time I make a mistake. ### 4/5 — Love the app, Scoring Issues *2020-12-22, version 2.1.1* Love the app for tracking games - that said, there are still some scoring issues (Habsburg level 6 registered as 0 difficulty). One small request I have is, can you please add a way of separating Promo Pack #2 from the Jagged Earth expansion, for those of us that have one and not the other? ### 5/5 — Love the app, but Horizons content not loading *2022-10-07, version 2.4.1* Outstanding app, but Horizons if SI content not loading. I’ve tried restore, restarting, everything. I have that content selected in settings. Can’t go without it! *2022-06-17, version 2.3.3* This is hands down the best system you can get. I use it constantly and I can’t live without it! So great!!! ### 5/5 — Great app for game tracking - though small issues with adversaries tracking *2022-03-04, version 2.3.1* This app works well - I use it almost exclusively for game tracking. The other features are very well put together and I could see it being very useful for element tracking though I haven’t yet felt the need to use that in game. The only very small issue I came across is that there is no option for level 0 of an adversary - which by the rule book is when you play without any of the levels and only with the escalation and added loss conditions on the top of the card. I’d be nice if that was distinguishable from level 1 since it does effect score and it’d be nice to see the difference between the 2. ### 5/5 — Excellent Companion App for Spirit Island *2022-02-28, version 2.3.1* This is an excellent tracker app for card plays, energy, and elements! Since downloading, I’ve used it alongside every game of Spirit Island I’ve played. Its greatest strength is the instant in-app notifications when you’ve reached an elemental threshold for an innate power. Each spirit’s submenu includes all the information listed on the back of its physical spirit board as well as its unique rules. The only things visually missing from the spirit submenus are the growth options, presence tracks, and specifics of each innate power. These (as well as the details of each spirit’s starting cards) might be good additions to future versions of the app, especially to consult when the physical game isn’t nearby. When tracking multiple spirits, you have to double-tap the active spirit’s icon to cycle in order through the other tracked spirits. It would be nice if you could make another tracked spirit active just by tapping its specific image. Still, a very minor complaint compared to the app’s general ease of use! Ultimately, this is an easy app to recommend if you play a lot of Spirit Island! I definitely recommend the extra $2 to unlock all the Jagged Earth and Promo Pack #2 spirits! ### 5/5 — Wonderful Resource and Reminder Tool *2020-12-17, version 2.1.1* Spirit Island is an incredibly complex game with several bonus actions you can choose to take if you’ve met certain conditions. It’s hard enough to remember if you’re just playing solo let alone cooperative. Thankfully, this app is butter smooth and can keep track of when you’ve met criteria and alert you in a non intrusive way. I highly appreciate the interface not to mention the links to the official rules and FAQ. ### 5/5 — Awesome App! *2020-12-06, version 2.1.1* An awesome supplemental app to the game Spirit Island. Adding up game scores was never really my thing, however since I started using this app, I have really enjoyed keeping track of my statistics within the game to see how I have been doing. With that, my main use in game is the built in FAQ which is a great one stop shop for tule checks without having to open and find it in the main booklet. Very happy to see the addition of all the details for the upcoming Jagged Earth expansion (not sure how you got that info so fast!!) I am enjoying learning of the new spirits as I wait for my copy of the game to get shipped to me. A few suggestions: • A few adversaries do not calculate score correctly. (I have a Habsburg Lvl 3 which looks like a base difficulty 0 in terms of score) • My wife and I have really enjoyed playing 3 Board games (with only 2 of us). Per the JE expansion there is a way of scoring that difficulty (in an approximate form). Would it be possible to add this into this app? So far I have just been writing it in the game notes. • There are a few typos throughout the newer content (In scenario diversity of spirits, the “fast” icon is used when I think the presence one was intended, etc) • Automatically complete an achievement of a game is logged that meets the conditions. • In the game log add ability to differentiate between your spirit and your teammates (without completely ignoring them) •Summary of your game log on the spirit/adversary menu (not the subpage for each one) stating something like a simple win/loss record like (3-1) to make it easy to browse through and see how you compare with different spirits and against different adversaries/scenarios --- *Data collected daily from the US App Store and indexed by [AppsHunter](https://appshunter.io/).
