If you die on a platform, when you restart at the checkpoint, he keeps sliding as if he’s on a platform and hits something and dies. Also sometimes when you die it messes up the rhythm of the spiders, making it impossible to get through them. Sometimes when you die a witch will move into the center of the spiders where it’s impossible to survive. I really love this game and want to finish it, but keep getting hindered by bugs, hence the 3 stars. Please please update!!! ### 2/5 — Make Life A Heart System For 5 Stars *2019-07-30* Love this game, the look, the feel, the creativity. I even enjoy the loose controls. But. I hate the life system. One and done, then start over at a checkpoint. Give me three hearts, and an occasional heart drop, and I would sing this game’s praises. It is such a good game. This one small change would carry it to five stars for me. As it is, I can’t even keep it on my phone (though I’ve tried multiple times). I say this out of love — if I didn’t care, I wouldn’t say a word. ### 3/5 — Bugs *2019-07-26* O jogo é bem legal, porém tem muitos bugs, muitos mesmos, todo fase aparece um, e os chefões são bem mais fáceis do que os inimigos normais do jogo, é bem mais difícil você passar uma fase aleatória do que o chefe em si. ### 3/5 — You need to work on your buttons *2019-07-05* A lot of the time the buttons don’t react as quickly as it should which puts a real damper on enjoying the rest of it if you can’t get past level 3 cause the character never jumps at the time you need him to. Seriously, right now I want a refund but if it gets fixed I’d get the game again. Even on Easy mode, you will play the same sections over and over. I made it through the first world, and realized I was not enjoying it at all. Nice try, but ultimately no fun. ### 2/5 — Lackluster And Frustrating Platformer *2019-04-24* The art of Spirit Roots is cute. It drew me into purchasing the game. Unfortunately the animations and motion all feel choppy and low budget. It feels like It wants to hit something like Oddmar or Rayman in terms of style but the execution just isn’t there. You have three hearts, but unlike most games where this is your current health these are your lives. So when you get hit, instead of just taking some knockback and moving on with your remaining health as you would expect you find yourself dying and restarting a little ways back at a checkpoint. This wouldn’t be so bad if dying wasn’t so easy due to clunky controls and a character that doesn’t move very well. It lead me to a very quick and frustrating end of my time with this game. Even the “combat” of the game is quickly frustrating and uninspiring. You have a sword for slashing and a gun that shoots out some slow moving shots. The sword slash never feels very satisfying and I find myself wishing it had even a small amount of forward momentum to it so it would chase down any enemy better. As it stands you hit them but they almost always get moved back out of your range for the next hit, so you find yourself missing the next hit leaving you wide open when the enemy strikes back. It always feels unsatisfying and leads to far too many deaths. Goblin Sword is a game with far better feeling sword combat I would recommend instead. In its current state I can’t recommend spending the money on this without major improvements to the core game. Go pick up Oddmar or Goblin Sword instead. After playing the first level it made me regret I bought it. I think I need a refund. I did not pay to die again and again on the third obstacle which is very impossible to surpass using the Double Jump. I ended up repeating the level again and again, and it’s only first level. It frustrate me, I even pressed harder the jump icon, maybe you should add “Triple Jump” for longer jumps. When you open the gate on the right there is no way to scale the wall back up to the other side where the flag is. Not only did I have to play the boss over again, I had the play the 4 previous levels. Habe jetzt mehrfach die erste Welt geschafft und jedes Mal beim Neustart müssen die zwei letzten Levels in der ersten Welt noch geschafft werden. So leider unbrauchbar.
