Most of the time it opens now, it crashes. I don’t know if it has a problem with External SSD? It keeps making me delete and re-install all sounds, I have to delete the app and re- install it again to work but if I don’t delete the previous installation of your sounds it stalls out and crashes repeatedly. Please fix this app. I can’t even use it now and it’s my go to for drums. Hope it’s in the next update. 🙏🏾 ### 4/5 — Useful, hugely varied, but flawed *2023-02-07, version 1.0.4* Splat-to-Clat, whatever that means, offers and enormous variety of sounds, which can be shaped extensively for those who wish to dabble. Alternately, they can simply be played via midi out from some - NOT all - midi controller apps such as Rosetta XOX. The other irritating problem is that switching to a different preset only becomes live if the app is stopped and started again. Despite a recent update saying that preview was enabled, there is still no changing the beat on the fly. ### 4/5 — Problems *2022-11-15, version 1.0.0* Finally got Splat-to-Clat working!😊 ### 5/5 — Excellent - Used it for about 15 mins - probably an hour tbh! *2022-11-11, version 1.0.0* Time flew, my tea got cold. I wasn’t going to get this, but it’s the big BF sale, and after perusing GM’s website about Midiculous, I took an interest in this beatbox type app. In a nutshell, there’s lots of variation in the soundsets, you can import your own, and you can ‘drill down’ into fine-tuning sound, amp, velocity curve and other aspects of EACH INDIVIDUAL sound as triggered by the specific button/pad you have rested your finger over the ‘spanner’ icon of, and then chosen ‘control’ on the little micro-menu that dialogues up. One suggestion, if the GM people see this, is about that dialogue that pops up centrally to give all those ‘drill-down’ options for adjusting tone etc of the triggered sound sample…along the very top of that dialogue box, it initially says ‘SOUND’ then you go across and see ‘SC Snap etc’ or whatever the codename of the particular sound sample for that button/pad is…I was carefully looking for a small space you could put the piano keyboard note name in, so that while adjusting you don’t have to keep remembering that the snap in the Bossa Nova is F3# or something? It could be to the right of that top line, in it’s own little box just after the sound sample’s codename. There’s room to do it in every screen on that dialogue box that appears. I say this, because what I actually did was, try to push the dialogue box to the right or left to see what the button said on it, what piano note actuated the sound? If that can’t be done - and even on my 12.9” iPad Pro M1 there ain’t the space really - this little space being used for that, would be really good. My old grey cells are trundling around, slower these days, in their little nano-wheelchairs, making their minuscule connections…it’s all pretty low-voltage up there and I don’t want to go rummaging in the dark too much to find the note-name from 5 seconds ago…! The user has to hit the ‘X’ and knock the dialogue off, to get a look, then remember again, phhhffft, meh, red-traffic-lights is all. doesn’t change my amateurish 5-stars at all. I am the last person to know about sampling, I just know it’s one of those things, you think it’s easy until you try doing it for the whole keyboard, multiple variations etc. Then the gremlins rise up! I think this is an extraordinarily good shot at this though, in my own humble opinion, not being an expert. And how bout Bassalicious 3 with some moe funky bass presets (fingers 🤞). Man, everything (GM) is doing comes out 24k gold. 5 star all day. Thanks ### 1/5 — Please update your app to stop generating premade arrangements *2023-07-06, version 1.0.4* Can you please update your app to stop generating pre-arrange arrangements where when I hit a button in BeatMaker 3 to tap out my own arrangements from scratch it starts automatically playing A premade arrangements sequence songs, and I do not have control over making my own arrangements songs beats composing is very annoying. Turn that feature off and the next feature update, you make the app unusable for people who want to use your app to create their own composition arrangements. ### 1/5 — Garbage *2023-02-25, version 1.0.4* I messaged the developer as I wanted to be sure this was good to go in GarageBand on iPad. The answer was ‘yes’. It should have been ‘no’. It is unusable, unstable, bug-riddled and basically useless. My specific reason for buying this app was to use it on a particular GarageBand project. I thought it would be worth the £20 for this reason alone. I may just as well have thrown my money up the road. Forget it. An absolute waste of money, as is the case with this developers other apps. However, it crashes frequently in Garage Band and other iPad Daws. It’s currently causing Logic Pro for iPad to crash. Error message says to contact the developer to update the app. I trust y’all to make this a greater experience. The only problem is that it only does weird drum sounds. I guess it is relevant to electronic and danceable music styles, but it just doesn’t have the raw materials for anything acoustic or natural sounding. I would absolutely LOVE to have some regular acoustic kits and samples, and the design would certainly work well for that. As it is right now, I won’t actually use it. It’s a shame because the design is really wonderful.
