## What is SplitSnap?

SplitSnap answers one question well: where did the month go?

One number for the month, and a ring that tells you what it went on before you scroll. Add an expense in about five seconds, scan a receipt and get the items with it, or pull in a whole month from a bank statement.

SPLITTING, DONE HONESTLY
Share a bill and SplitSnap keeps both numbers: the full charge that left your account, and your share. Only your share counts toward your spending, because the rest is money you're owed - not money you spent.

THREE WAYS IN
- Quick add - amount, one category tap, done. The keypad never leaves the screen.
- Scan a receipt - read on your phone with Apple's Vision framework. The photo is never uploaded and never saved.
- Import a statement - a CSV from your bank, turned into named, categorised expenses you approve before anything is filed.

BUILT TO BE READ
- Month-over-month first, because the useful question is "worse than last month?"
- Observations in plain sentences, not badges
- Recurring bills post themselves, so a month is never quietly missing your rent
- Flick the card to walk back through earlier months

PRIVATE BY DEFAULT
Your expenses live on your phone. Receipt images are read on device and discarded the moment the bill is parsed - they are never uploaded and never written to your photo library. An account is optional: SplitSnap works fully without one, and signing in only syncs your expenses between your own devices.
