Hope more people find out about this app ### 5/5 — This is one of the best apps I’ve used *2024-04-04, version 2.3.3* The OCR is excellent and the splitting interface is fantastic. The only request I have is to be able to search for contacts in the contact view. Usually this follows by my having to write down a lot of math on the back of the receipt, but no more! I love how this app scans in all of the information on the receipt and lets you easily allocate each item to everyone at the table. Not only is this a time saver, but it also makes me more confident in paying for the bill myself and then using Venmo afterwards. The app also looks amazing and is very intuitive to use. It also requires the person organizing the group to do all the work of figuring out who had what, unlike alternatives which allow the leader to send a link which allows others to select what they had. BUT the colors need to be more vivid. *2026-05-03, version 3.1.2* It’s hard to see what letter names are highlighted and what’s not because the colors are too similar to each other and not bright/vivid enough. Also felt bad for the restaurant having so many processing fees for each of us. Splitty made it quick and easy to divvy up the bill and request payment from everyone. A search bar for contacts would make it even better! Not everyone in my group had an iPhone or Venmo so iMessage wasn't a option. Integrating with PayPal or Cash App too would be great. I used the tool to copy the itemized note to send to everyone and thought everything worked great, until I reliazed that the note did not include the tax and tip which I paid! The "copy charge amount" option includes that though. 🤨 So I ended up eating a few extra dollars, not the biggest deal in the world, but thought it was worth mentioning. ### 4/5 — Best bill splitter i’ve used so far *2024-02-25, version 2.3.1* I am often paying the bill at outings with friends or family and dread calculating the bill. I spent most of my morning today looking for an app where i can take a picture of my receipt and make it easy for me to assign the cost of an item to an individual. So glad I found splitty which does exactly that - and its so straightforward & user interface is easy to navigate. My only feedback (which would be more of an improvement) is to: 1) provide a summary screenshot to send to friends / family versus inviting them to the app since most people use zelle over venmo these days. 2) provide an entry for individual taxes. In san francisco, they have an sf mandate tax and a sales tax. This wasnt a big deal at all but i had to open up my calculator to add the two taxes. Adding this line item would make the experience nice and seamless. ### 5/5 — Best restaurant bill splitting app *2026-05-27, version 3.1.2* Great app that does exactly what I want, I’ve tried a half dozen more popular ones and this one easily wins. Few suggestions: - One click save to photos for ALL individual bills or total bill - Recents in drop down when clicking add member - Importing contact photos for members - Quick split where you choose how many splits there are and assign it by numbers (ie. 1, 2, 3, 4… rather than adding names) ## Most praised reviews (9 highest-rated) ### 5/5 — Makes splitting bills easy!!! *2026-05-08, version 2.9* This app makes it so easy to split the bill for small to large group orders. You take a photo of the receipt and it automatically reads and lists out the food items along with the amounts. You then assign each person to the items and even share items across multiple people. I like how assigning people is easy to do. Then you choose how much to tip which everyone shares in. You can even Venmo request the payments from each person. Such an amazing app!
