Plus, the search function isn’t great and the UX design needs some work. That being said definitely worth it if you have food, allergies, and I’ve really enjoyed putting reviews up. When I had no idea what was safe after being diagnosed with allergies, Spokin was a well full of information that allowed me to find a community and safe products, colleges, restaurants, and more. It is so easy to look for safe food options, and it has provided me with an incredible community of people who are experiencing the same struggles. I have found some of my favorite restaurants and food products through this app. I would HIGHLY recommend this app to everyone!! ### 2/5 — Latex allergy *2026-03-07, version 4.6.84* This is a neat app but it would be great if it had a latex allergy filter. It’s so hard to find kitchens that don’t use latex gloves especially when you are traveling. My mother can’t eat at any restaurant that uses latex gloves even if her food isn’t prepared with the gloves because the latex protein stays on the kitchen surfaces. ### 5/5 — Amazing app for allergy individuals! *2026-02-25, version 4.6.84* If you have severe allergies, or your child, or a close family member or friend does, download Spokin! I love that you can search a city and a type of cuisine to find a whole blog about different restaurants, the main ingredients used, and their review of whether they felt safe eating there! I also love leaving reviews and recommendations about allergy-friendly and allergy-free restaurants and cafes that I’ve tried. It’s seriously my favorite app, especially when traveling. Spokin helped me feel confident in studying abroad and beyond studying abroad, the app has helped me in finding safe places to eat. There is so much useful and in-depth allergy information on food products and their verified brand partners. I have been able to eat out in so many different countries/states because of Spokin and it has made travel planning so much easier. I was looking for an app that would be able to give me recipes i can live off of , unfortunately the search feature does not actually work. It will show you recipes that you are allergic to or will have an ingredient like “gluten free pasta” when you are allergic to every ingredient in said gluten free pasta🫩 not worth your time unless you have a couple similar allergies. ### 1/5 — No adult recipes *2026-05-23, version 4.6.85* I’m looking for an app that I can search for recipes that don’t have my long list of allergies, but it’s all sweets and little kids dessert. ### 1/5 — Incorrect recommendations *2026-04-16, version 4.6.84* I put in that I can’t have oats, I can have everything other type of grain, but it only gives me things that are completely gluten-free. I CAN have gluten, just not oats which is why I OLNY SELECTED OATS. It also has given me 20+ recommendations for the exact same product. I’m NOT allergic to any nuts so I didn’t select them as an allergy obviously, and it’s only giving me nut-free options -_- ### 1/5 — Can’t even get started *2026-02-01, version 4.6.84* I’ve never used this app before and with every email I put in to get started it rejects me. I can’t even get started to use the darn thing. You have to fill out a form and they will tell you that they’ll delete your account within 30 days. The reviews were from 2 and 3 years ago. So I am now asking myself where is the App Support? I understand it’s a free app, but that doesn’t mean someone isn’t making money off people using the it. ### 1/5 — Doesn’t work at all *2023-03-03, version 4.3.19* Tried using the app multiple times, restarted my phone and did everything possible but it leaves me stuck at the profile picture page no matter what I do. ### 1/5 — Completely Unusable *2020-07-22* This app is completely unusable both due to glitches and dysfunctional features. The search function will not allow you to hit enter and does not recognize location even after allowing location tracking, and the map is so large that the actual list below is along a tiny tiny strip. You can't search recipes or restaurants, and every single suggested recipe for me is a dessert with no actual meals. Even if I manage to see a restaurant name, there is no way to view the menu and you're stuck with the same problem of pouring through restaurant menus that only have options for one allergy at a time.
