## What is Spool?

Spool finds the videos hiding in your Live Photos.

Here's what I mean. If you've ever taken a bunch of Live Photos in a row (your kid blowing out birthday candles, the dog doing something weird, whatever), each one has about 3 seconds of video baked into it. When you take them close enough together, those clips overlap. Spool scans your whole photo library, finds those sequences, and stitches them into actual, playable videos.

I built this because there's no good way to know which Live Photos in your library are actually longer videos worth watching. They're in there, but nothing tells you. Spool finds them for you. Open the app, let it scan, and you've got every hidden video in your library laid out in a grid.

The first time I tested it on my own phone, I ended up scrolling for a solid hour. I wasn't expecting that. I found clips of my wife and me from before we got married; just normal stuff, us being us. And then videos of both our boys when they were still babies, doing all the things babies do that you forget about a year later. All of it was sitting right there in Live Photos we'd taken without thinking about it and never watched back. That's the whole reason this app exists.

Your first 3 exports are completely free, no watermark. One purchase, not a subscription, unlocks the full app forever. No ads either.

Everything runs on your device. Spool reads your photo library but nothing gets uploaded or sent anywhere. No analytics, no tracking, no account to create.

You can search your videos by location and filter by date.

The stitching handles overlap trimming automatically. Consecutive Live Photos blend into smooth, continuous playback instead of stuttering or repeating frames.
