DO NOT USE! *2025-11-24, version 1.15* I was on the beta team for this app and it was off to a good start, but it has been abandoned and there have been no updates to additional animation decks for over two years. I actually knew someone who was on the development team and he ended up leaving because the people that owned the app completely neglected it and have had zero updates. The app frequently crashes and it’s just not worth the money. The real-time editing features and the extensive library of visual effects are impressive and make the creative process enjoyable and intuitive. However, I do have one suggestion for improvement: I wish there were more video templates available. Having a broader selection of templates would make it easier to quickly produce high-quality videos and provide more creative inspiration for users. Expanding the template library would greatly enhance the overall experience. Overall, Spool is a great app, and I highly recommend it to anyone looking to create professional music videos with ease. Or you could call video sampler I don’t know yet or you can call “GarageBand music video overlay messenger service.” I’ll probably remember your name now as I wait for you to have more clip shots rather than whatever it is now 12? … as for effects all I need is dissolve where I can set the length of the dissolve to any length ………. it would be if the clips could be adjusted to be sound reactive. For instance, whenever the bass drum goes, it would show the face clip, and then if it does treble violin then it does the landscape video something like that a video clip equalizer???……… In exchange for the title advice of making your name, more memorable or paying for your name to pop up easier I would like a lifetime subscription. If you don’t mind ha ha I’m sort of serious. I bet a lot of people are looking for you can’t you because your name or description doesn’t pop up., get to work ha ha and like the other review, please allow me to include as many clips as my memory can handle and allow me to switch music and audio clips as well//???…. Works like a drum machine- I love how you create as your music is in playback, and the newer feature of auto generating videos is great for when you just want to be lazy and see what it comes up with. I have used all the sets that I like already though, and there is not enough new ones added for me to renew. Also many of the effects are kind of worthless. Only about half really do something cool and add to the images. Es gibt zwar die Möglichkeit jeden Part durch andere Packages oder durch eigene Videos zu ersetzen aber die Reihenfolge kann man nicht ändern ausser man löscht einzelne Sequenzen in der Timeline. ____ Vorschlag: Es wäre schön wenn die ausgewählten Videoparts per drag und drop hin und her ziehbar wären, um die Reihenfolge ändern zu können. ___ Punktabzug: Ausserdem verbraucht die App sehr sehr viel Akku was bei einem neu gekauften IPhone 15 sehr schnell und nach Erstellung eines kurzen Videos von etwa 3 min. ziemlich deutlich ist !!! ## Most critical reviews (10 lowest-rated) ### 1/5 — Spectacularly non-functional. *2026-05-08, version 1.15* Numerous attempts just to load my own videos and audio from Files. And then the slowest process meter I’ve seen in a long time , plus the lonnnng time waiting for my files to load? Process? I don’t know, but even on the one attempt that this succeeded. The only function I could access was alternating between project views. Whoa, and that annual price set to charge by default after the free 7-day trial- ouch! There’s no reason it should hang consistently. Now way would I subscribe ! And now way is the app staying on my phone! ### 1/5 — Lags *2026-02-22, version 1.15* This app lags so bad.
