### 4/5 — Slicer push

*2025-12-01, version 2.6.6*

I like the app definitely helps with keeping inventory of colors and brands as well as the war code options seams cool haven’t used it yet myself. . However it would be better if you could link it to your slicer to import your project instead of having to manually input it. Any chance we’ll be seeing integration options like that??

### 3/5 — Instant uninstall

*2025-11-08, version 2.6.5*

As soon as I saw only a paid subscription I uninstalled. I’ll continue using my excel spreadsheet before I pay a monthly fee on something I might use a few times a month. I agree the developer needs to be paid but give me a one time option.

### 2/5 — NFC tag Scan does not work

*2025-11-08, version 2.6.5*

Tried to add filament via scanning BBL NFC nothing happened. Help!

### 4/5 — Suggestion

*2025-10-11, version 2.6.5*

Great and extremely helpful tool. I would give one more start of could easily identify w/spool and refill. Perhaps lees important as I use more. I just like to have a good selection for what if. :-)

### 3/5 — a good app but…

*2025-08-28, version 2.6.5*

its a good app, but it lacks the simple ability to show the total print time for a project. I also don’t understand why it refuses to work without an internet connection. Two sort of large cons in my book

### 2/5 — Teilweise Unbrauchbar

*2025-08-28, version 2.6.5*

Leider unbrauchbar! 🤨🙄

### 2/5 — Bad surprise...

*2025-06-30, version 2.6.2*

Hi!
The app requires to be connected to Internet and is totally useless without. I discovered when my provider had issues with its infrastructure in my area.
Sorry guys.

Attention !
^^'

### 3/5 — Could have improvements

*2025-03-12, version 2.5.6*

Overall nice App. That is exactly what i was looking for. No external hardware such as raspberry pi or other required. Database has not very much entries. I am talking about the big Filament Factories like Bambulab, esun, Extrudr, Polymaker.

If the Database of Filament will be updated/expanded to more fabrics and/or more colors i would rate 5 stars.

### 2/5 — High Expectations

*2025-02-12, version 2.4.6*

Great app minus it crashing non stop which is extremely annoying especially while you are in the middle of adding filament. Paid for the year and very disappointed. What would it cost to make this app actually usable?

### 3/5 — Awesome app!

*2025-01-31, version 2.4.5*

Excellent way to keep track of filament. Had visual cues, data, and graphs and charts for filament quantities.

Had an issue with the subscription service and the devs responded immediately. It ended up being my end. Great customer service.

Edit: They still have not fixed the constant app crashing.

### 2/5 — Unable to Print Labels

*2025-01-23*

Business Review

I have been using this application for my business, and while it has been functional and reliable up until now, recent issues have caused significant disruptions. Everything was fine earlier in the day, but by mid-afternoon, the app started malfunctioning across multiple devices, including iOS (iPhone, iPad, and iPad Mini) and macOS (MacBook Pro and MacBook Air). Restarting devices did not resolve the issue.

Adding to the frustration, I attempted to use the in-app Help feature to submit a ticket, only to find that it doesn’t function properly—it just loads the app within itself, offering no viable support option. This is incredibly disappointing for a business-critical tool.

This is not the first time I’ve encountered downtime with this app, and each instance leaves me unable to manage my inventory effectively. My business depends on this software to operate smoothly, and repeated issues like this jeopardize my ability to function. If this isn’t resolved immediately and permanently, I’ll be forced to explore other, more reliable solutions.

I urge the team to address these problems and improve both the reliability of the app and the accessibility of customer support. My business cannot afford this level of instability.

**Developer response:** Hi, i just wanted to let you know that we made some major bug fixes and you should see some big improvements. Please reach out directly if you have any further problems. We’re doing our best to make Spoolstock the best it can be.

### 2/5 — Lacking

*2025-01-07*

Scanning most spools turns up no previous entries. I find it hard to believe I am the first person to scan any spool. So I ended all the information and save it. The next time I scan the same spool it can find no record of it. Why do I have to repeatedly enter the information for the same spool?

## Most critical reviews (10 lowest-rated)

### 1/5 — Most filaments missing in database

*2026-04-11, version 2.7.3*

Most every filament I scan are not in the app’s database. Adding a filament by hand is not easy or adds to my quality of life.

### 1/5 — NFC does not work

*2026-03-24, version 2.7.3*

I downloaded this because it said it could scan NFC codes and print labels. The two features I was looking for. There is no help in the app and the FAQ mentions “custom NFC tags” but the main description and images do not. it will not read any Bambu filament tags at all. At least not the 5 I tried. Including setting one on the phone. Is the NFC part hyperbole/ false or is there something o missed in the non-existent documentation?

### 1/5 — Hobby Project

*2026-02-04, version 2.6.6*

This app barely gets any updates, long standing bugs are never resolved. Discord is dead, tickets are never acknowledged. This is a hobby project, so if you’re happy with current app then great. Just don’t expect much more.

### 1/5 — Log in and data GONE

*2026-01-06, version 2.6.6*

After the last update, I can no longer access my spool database. Asking for a password reset does nothing. Did I just lose all my catalogue of spools?!?
Update. 2 weeks later: no contact from company after emailing them. Requesting auto password reset does nothing.
Just requested a refund thru Apple.
DONT WASTE YOUR TIME CATALOGING FILAMENT WITH THIS APP. WORTHLESS.

### 1/5 — Log in and data GONE

*2025-12-27, version 2.6.6*

After the last update, I can no longer access my spool database. Asking for a password reset does nothing. Did I just lose all my catalogue of spools?!?

### 1/5 — Locked in

*2025-12-20, version 2.6.6*

The app is ok. NFC doesn’t work. Csv export doesn’t work. Be careful. You can only have 20 spools for free. After that they want money. You can’t export your scans. That’s really bad.

### 1/5 — Barcode Broken

*2025-07-01, version 2.6.2*

Barcode scanning seems broken, I tested across many brands and not a single one scanned, the only reason I downloaded the app. Furthermore, when it can’t find something it take many clicks to get back to scanning. I tested Prusa, Form Futura, Spektrum, Filament PM, Buddy3d, Das Filament, Forward AM Ultrafuse, not even some Creality branded filament

### 1/5 — If it doesn’t scan, it’s worthless

*2025-03-29, version 2.5.8*

Really took me a long time to figure this one out. Keep it simple guys. Also, it doesn’t recognize any bar or QR codes by esun. That’s over half of my filament. If I have to type that much I’ll make a spreadsheet on my laptop. Without scanning abilities, this app I’d Notepad

### 1/5 — Was a fantastic app when it first came out now it’s totally unusable.

*2025-03-09, version 2.5.5*

I enjoyed using this app for the first few months and found it to be an invaluable tool. I couldn’t say enough good things about it. But they’ve been more focused on adding features than making sure the app was stable. It’s totally unusable in its current state (2.5.5). You can open the app and complete one function then you have to close the app and restart it. If you attempt to scroll forget about it, not gonna happen. It freezes and locks up more than it works. Extremely disappointed. Wish they had left it alone. It was fine the way it was. Don’t waste your time putting 100+ rolls of filament into an app, then rely on it to keep track of what you have, it makes it tough to move to a new app. I would suggest you move on at this point until these bugs are worked out.

### 1/5 — Started Strong

*2024-11-09*

I was all but singing this app’s praises to everyone—it was the perfect solution I’d been looking for. Smooth, intuitive, and genuinely functional. But now? It’s unusable. Every time I navigate from one menu to another, or finish printing and try to go back, the app crashes to a white screen. It’s beyond frustrating to have to restart the app every single time I try to do anything. I’ve restarted my phone, tested every workaround I could think of, but nothing fixes it. This app went from hero to zero overnight—please, fix this bug!

**Developer response:** Hi, i just wanted to let you know that we made some major bug fixes and you should see some big improvements. Please reach out directly if you have any further problems. We’re doing our best to make Spoolstock the best it can be.

### 5/5 — I can’t live without this app!

*2025-06-26, version 2.6.2*

I have a large supply of filament, and it can be difficult to know how much filament I have of any one color or brand without this app. Before finding this app I always had to manually look through my filament for a particular color. If I couldn’t find it I would order another spool thinking I was out. Then I would discover I did have the color I needed after receiving the new spool. This would be very frustrating. This app makes my life so much easier! I print the QR coded labels for each spool, it makes it quick and easy to scan them and input the weight. And I see now with the latest updates NFC tags can be used. I would also like state that the customer service is really great to work with.

### 5/5 — Great app but a few bugs

*2025-06-10, version 2.6.1*

Fantastic concept and it works well most of the time, could do with a few tweaks to the UI, for example, when you try to scroll on the inventory page you end up moving items around unless you’re really careful to touch in blank space. Also, when you try to add a filament to a print job through NFC it doesn’t go on. Nothing happens. You have to add it manually through search or the location tabs. Kinda makes the NFC functionality useless.

### 5/5 — Stellar app only gets better

*2025-04-26, version 2.6.0*

Once you start using it you will never stop. Plus it is only getting better over time. Dont sleep on it- if you are trying to manage filament for a small business, this is what you need

### 5/5 — Tracking filament usage

*2025-04-07, version 2.5.8*

Awesome for tracking how much filament I have left.

### 5/5 — Thank you!

*2025-03-12, version 2.5.5*

This app has been a so helpful! I have become a filament hoarder and it makes keeping up with all my “precious” inventoried so I know what I have in stock or what I need to reorder! Love that you can have locations so you know exactly where to look when you need to pull a roll to print. Such a timesaver! And the developers keep adding new features that make it even better. I can’t say enough good things about it! If you on the fence about this app…jump off and get it!

### 5/5 — A must-have for any 3D printing enthusiast!

*2025-02-26, version 2.5.1*

I've been 3D printing for a while now, and managing filament spools has always been a bit of a nightmare. Keeping track of colors, materials, leftover amounts, and which spool I used for which print was a hassle—until I found Spoolstock.
This app has completely changed the way I organize my filament inventory. I’ve immediately started using their label printing feature to tag my spools properly. One of my favorite features is how seamlessly I can use my iPhone to scan a spool when it’s depleted, making it easy to update my inventory on the fly.
The ability to scan QR codes and instantly pull up spool details has made my workflow so much smoother. I used to manually weigh spools to estimate remaining filament, but Spoolstock's built-in database with updated weights takes care of that for me. Now, I can confidently start a print without worrying if I have enough material left.
The low filament alerts are a game-changer—if I’m running low on a specific color, the app not only notifies me but also provides a direct link to an online store to purchase refills. This has saved me from last-minute supply shortages multiple times!
The cloud syncing feature is another huge plus. Whether I’m on my computer or my phone, my inventory is always up to date. I also track print times and costs, helping me better understand my usage and optimize my workflow.
While the app is already incredibly useful, I love that the developers are continuously improving it. They listen to feedback and are actively making it better. There are a few small things I’d love to see improved (like slightly more intuitive navigation in certain areas), but overall, Spoolstock has become an essential tool for my 3D printing workflow.
If you’re into 3D printing and tired of manually tracking your filament, I highly recommend giving Spoolstock a try. It has saved me time, reduced waste, and made my setup way more efficient.

### 5/5 — Big Fan

*2025-02-26, version 2.5.1*

This app is super helpful for me to track my filament usage for prints. It is awesome that it automatically calculates the cost of the print (even for multicolor prints). The cost per print is my favorite feature for accounting purposes.

### 5/5 — Perfection!

*2025-01-24, version 2.4.3*

This app is something you never realized you needed or wanted, but once you use it, you can’t live without it!

### 5/5 — Perfekt für den Standardanwender

*2025-01-24, version 2.4.2*

Was fehlt mir noch?

### 5/5 — I’m a huge fan!!

*2024-12-13, version 2.4.0*

Love the ability to inventory all my filaments and quickly see what colors, materials, and quantity I have. It’s better than I expected and will continue to use it. Trust me it’s the best filament inventory app out there. I tried them all before I found this one.
