### 3/5 — Great but accommodation request

*2025-09-04, version 1.1.6*

I really like this app. My main complaint is the distracting blue bar with bubbles on the right. I cannot not see it when I’m trying to concentrate on logging, and on low spoon days, it’s basically impossible for me to use the app. Can you make it still so i can concentrate on the log? Thanks for the app!

### 4/5 — Carry over

*2025-06-04, version 1.1.6*

This is a good app to track your spoons (energy points) and helps you realise what little tasks take energy. Improvement - carry over to the next day any plus or minus spoons. Every day starts with 12, even if you borrowed from the next day! Please edit it to show actual spoons available based on borrowing or spare spoons.

### 4/5 — So far so good - ish

*2024-06-18, version 1.1.6*

Only one complaint so far, please offer a dark mode!!!

### 3/5 — Just downloaded, can’t wait to try it!

*2024-05-30, version 1.1.6*

May 30, 2024: Downloaded app, have yet to open it and try it.
***I update all my reviews based on how well they are performing for me or when things improve or have issues and I always date my update.

Based on the app page description, it looks really worth trying out! I had to download it to rate and review so I wanted to mention that I was hesitant to download it though because I can only see if one review listed and it was from a year ago and the last update was awhile ago aswell. But I took a chance, gave 3⭐️‘S for now cuz no ratings or reviews and updated so long ago. Also I had to download it just to leave a comment or ask a question. If it works as great as I imagine it would supposed to based on the description and the photos on the app, then I can see it being 5⭐️‘S no problem.

### 4/5 — Basic but brilliant!

*2024-05-26, version 1.1.6*

I have ME/CFS and this has been a game changer as a part of my pacing toolbox. It helps me see what uses the most spoons and to pace effectively. I have had significantly less crashes since starting to use the app. I use it in conjunction with Visible app and the two together help me track my baseline and spoon usage.

Some welcome improvements would be: ability to change starting number of spoons each day; ability to save a master list of common tasks so that they can be easily added to each day without typing; ability to import tasks from days further back than 1 week; ability to export individual days for reference.

But overall it’s really useful. 😊

### 4/5 — Love it, but I wish there was better tracking

*2024-04-19, version 1.1.6*

I love that I am able to track my spoons in the day, but it would be lovely if the spoons I borrowed from tomorrow were displayed instead of starting me at 12 again. For example, yesterday I borrowed 11 spoons from today, so it should start me at one instead of 12. If there's a way to do that, please do!! It's hard for me to keep track of how many I'm borrowing from the next day when it starts me at the same amount again.

### 4/5 — Copy overkill

*2024-01-11, version 1.1.6*

I absolutely love this app, but for one thing (fix this and I will definitely change my rating to 5 stars). I click on the “copy (insert day)” because I want to copy it for another day, But hello, it repeats it on that day (ie I said copy Fridays activities because I want to put on Monday and Wednesday and Friday next week, but instead of doing able to paste, I looked on the original Friday and it had repeated the same thing), like why do I need the same thing twice on the same day?

Thank you

### 4/5 — just what i was looking for

*2023-07-19, version 1.1.6*

i’ve been looking into energy accounting and spoon theory and i never thought i’d be able to make it fit for me. i got stuck on assigning everything a set number and thought it was all too complicated to help.
but this is nearly perfect.
my only notes are that the “borrowed from tomorrow” feature doesn’t seem to actually borrow (could just be my device). i think it’d be super helpful for it to automatically update the next day’s total, or to let users manually set/edit the total spoons for each day.
also, less importantly, more just a thought for organization purposes: a sorting menu for a day’s added tasks, or the ability to manually reorder them. it seems like it defaults to alphabetical order, but it would be cool to sort by completion or time added too!

anyway, super awesome. it’s helping me learn my own patterns better and use my energy in the most beneficial way every day.

### 4/5 — super helpful!!

*2023-04-01, version 1.1.6*

i’ve been using this app for just a few days and its very very helpful for me. it has made it so much easier for me to quantify my energy and manage it properly so thank you!

the only note i have is the spoon indicator, the colors could be a little more clear (maybe purple and green to match the activities?) that way it would make a bit more sense at first glance!

but overall, i really love it and will keep using it. i also like that you can plan for the next day and transfer activities from the day before. it would be super cool if you could save activities for certain days, like a monday or friday too!!

anyways, thank you so much for this app, i appreciate it a lot :)

### 4/5 — Really useful - More features would be even better

*2023-03-28, version 1.1.6*

I really love this app, for someone just getting to grips with CFS/ME, this is a really useful way for me to begin to see where I'm using my energy, and some ballparks for how many spoons some activities are. You can edit how much they are as well so I'm not sure why that's being suggested as not possible!

My one wish would be to be able to export the notes on each day, I've been using this to help keep track on what happened on certain days and symptoms so this would help me see the spoon use Vs symptoms and details of that day. Thanks for making this app.

### 4/5 — I really really want to love this App…

*2023-03-14, version 1.1.6*

This Idea is absolutely amazing and I appreciate and applaud you for first taking this concept on & then either having or learning the skills to make this App to begin with! Please I Really want this App to succeed and I will be showing it to my Doctors that handle chronic illnesses to hopefully help promote it some more seeing as I have quite a few Doctors in the Mayo system.

But having said that the app is not useful for me at current. The reason being is that my illness heavily influences how much energy I start out with each time I wake up, which is multiple times a day. Sometimes my energy may improve after getting more sleep, while other times it will just tank right out, only to rebound a little bit the next time I ‘nap’ – for lack of a better word to use as they can last from as little as a few minutes to multiple hours – which means I and others like me, would need more flexibility and control over their spoons and possibly be able to track around sleep patterns. I would also love to have the luxury of having just one day of a full 12 spoons, but I haven’t had one for over a decade now and I doubt I will get one anytime soon. So allowing those of us that don’t quite reach the daily 12 spoon allotment would be helpful.

😊 If you take in the original creator of this theory had said and insinuated in her conversation with her friend on the topic; She’d explain that each day when she woke up was different and she’d had to basically work with what she woke up with that morning as that was all the energy her body was able to regenerate over night for her to use the next day. So when she only found 12 spoons nearby and handed it to her friend, it had inadvertently demonstrated the concept she had been trying to convey, more poignantly than any words could, and then driven home by a firm and serious ‘No’ from her when her friend has tried to see if she could get more spoons when she’d told her friend that was all the energy she had for the day and every action she did would cost her a spoon.

This was a demonstration though, not a definitive measurement of the amount of energy everyone with a chronic illness could, should, or will fit into. Allowing for more flexibility in adding more or less spoons as they feel fit their energy levels that day and then allowing the users the control to decide the value of the Spoons to Energy ratio and calculate how that best fits into their life balance. People don’t typically like to be pigeon holed into one format of how to view things, but lack the ability, energy or simply don’t care enough to put forward ideas to help improve something so they pass it over as not useful to them so why bother.

I believe this app has a lot of great potential to help a lot of people gain a bit of control back into their lives. So I really hope you keep going and don’t give up. You’re doing great and have an amazing start!

### 4/5 — Helpful for pacing

*2022-11-27*

I love the idea of this, and the fact that you can add your own activities.
I don’t understand why when I “borrow” spoons from the next day, when I then get to that day I still have 12 to work with.
That doesn’t help me to track it.
In general I appreciate the ideas and the way I can use it to pace my days out with EDS.

### 4/5 — Excited to see but needs more flexibility

*2022-11-11, version 1.1.6*

I have chronic fatigue and one thing I have discovered is that I don’t start each day with a full set of spoons. I would like to see a percentage in quarters or something for how I think my day starts and then add a activities throughout the day. My Dr and I have been working to identify how many spoons activities take on any given day so I’m excited to see that I can adjust the spoon usage. I look forward to using this app in my daily life to help discover what drains me and what fills me.

### 4/5 — Awesome but missing something

*2022-11-01, version 1.1.6*

This app is great and exactly what I’m looking for! The only feature missing is the ability to make your own tasks that you can save. Besides that, it has everything I could ask for!

### 4/5 — Great App but could be even better

*2022-10-17, version 1.1.6*

In general, I find this app super helpful in managing my spoons. It also seems that the developer is really responsive to feedback! That said, here’s some things I like and a little idea for improvement.

I like that I can put in future events so I can plan around what I will need to save or replenish spoons for later in the day. It’s also very informative and teaches spoon theory - I’ve even shared the graphics with some friends and family when I explain spoon theory to them. Between fixing the log out issue and adding the replenishing of spoons, I have noticed that the developer listens to consumers. I appreciate that the app is free but I would probably be willing to spend a small cost for lifetime access; I think it’s worth that.

My feedback is to be able to save custom spoon entries on the drop down menu. In the drop down, you can choose from pre-saved entries, but you cannot customize this. I have activities I do frequently that are either not on the list or use a different amount of spoons for me. It can be tedious to type them in each time and try to remember how many spoons it costs. If this list could be individualized, I would find the app a bit more useful in day-to-day tasks. I also agree with other reviews that being able to adjust your starting spoons would be beneficial but not as important for me personally.

Thank you for this amazing app!

### 4/5 — A decent app. Could be improved, but nice to have.

*2022-09-28, version 1.1.6*

It does the bare minimum and it gets the job done. I wish there was a way to reorganize your list, either manually or automatically or both. That would be very nice.

### 3/5 — Just downloaded

*2022-06-02, version 1.1.6*

Hopefully we can edit our spoons as some days we have different numbers

### 4/5 — Amazing, a few suggestions

*2022-05-18, version 1.1.4*

I absolutely love the idea of this app, it’s really helping me recover from autistic burnout. I find it helps me to visually see that I have achieved a lot in a day, whereas normally I’d beat myself up and feel lazy. The first change I would suggest is the order that the tasks are in. I wish there was an option to put the completed tasks at the bottom & the un-ticked ones at the top! Secondly, it would be awesome if we had the ability to change the number of spoons per day, for those that are recovering and finding that they have more energy. I’d love to keep using it as I improve! Apart from that I love it. Thanks!

### 3/5 — Great tool, however…

*2022-02-16, version 1.1.4*

The app won’t let you stay logged in and I don’t like having to type it in every time I want to add an activity. The app itself though is a great tool.

### 4/5 — It’s good but...

*2021-10-21, version 1.1.4*

I think this app has been very helpful for me but it won’t keep me logged in. It’s not a huge deal but it’s kind of frustrating to have to type it all out every time. I also think it’d be better if I could pick how many spoons I have everyday instead of a set amount. Everyone is different.

## Most critical reviews (10 lowest-rated)

### 1/5 — Didn’t even give me a chance

*2025-04-17, version 1.1.6*

It wouldn’t even let me sign up. All of my emails wouldn’t register and I tried 3 different ones

### 1/5 — Dark mode please !

*2024-08-06, version 1.1.6*

I would use it if it was accessible. A dark mode option is absolutely essential for me.

### 1/5 — App Costs Valuable Limited Daily Spoons

*2024-04-06, version 1.1.6*

This app is helpful for learning the application of spoon theory, but it doesn’t allow for repeating activities like work, getting up, getting dressed, taking meds. These are daily tasks. Having to enter every activity, every day, manually is tedious and cumbersome. In fact, this app ends up costing a spoon or two everyday. It does not link intuitively into one’s daily life. Plus, it doesn’t subtract a spoon when you “borrow from tomorrow,” so it’s inaccurate; causing users to have to remember to add in the borrowed spoons from previous days, costing more time and energy, and making it even more cumbersome and time consuming.

I really wanted this to help, but it’s just not a valuable use of limited daily spoons.

### 1/5 — Can’t recover/change password

*2023-06-14, version 1.1.6*

Attempted to set up account, but my iPhone didn’t save the random password generated so I used the “forgot my password” reset function. This would be great, except it doesn’t work. No email is sent to reset your password so there is now no way to sign in the account or reset it. I also emailed the company without a response. Very frustrating and no way to use the app now.

### 1/5 — Good to see in theory

*2021-08-01, version 1.1.4*

I have not remembered a password in years, I let apple do that for me but this one I’ve now memorised because you have to sign in each time you open it. I even tried leaving it in the background when I close all my other apps periodically during the day but it still signs me out. Having to put your full email and password in every single time just to tick a box is just not worth the effort.

### 1/5 — Theory good, but fails to deliver

*2021-06-21, version 1.1.2*

Notes spoons borrowed from the following day, but does not make any adjustment to the next day’s number of available days. Only has a Mood rating, no pain notation etc. I will be asking to have my account deleted (cannot test without creating an account). 😒

### 1/5 — Won’t let me log in!

*2021-05-03, version 1.1.2*

I want to use this app so badly but it keeps rejecting my passwords (that I save in a manager so I know they’re right) and when I reset and try to put them in manually, the app crashes out in the log in screen. I got in for a little and it seems to work really well and do exactly what I need it to so I would love it if I could use it!

### 1/5 — Unable to connect

*2021-04-26, version 1.1.2*

I don’t like giving one star reviews. I do this after trying to contact the company with no response.

Despite downloading and following instructions the app continues to say invalid account/password. Trust me I had just entered both so know both are correct. I’m beyond frustrated. I’ve tried with a different email and password only to get the same response. I emailed the team as per website info and I’ve had no response. It’s been 3 days since I emailed. I’m afraid I’ve wasted too many spoons on this. Don’t bother until they have fixed this glitch.

### 2/5 — App concept is great

*2022-05-23, version 1.1.4*

Unfortunately it has some bugs it needs to work out. I was a new user and checked Remember each time I logged on and yet it never did. By the third day, it was no longer calculating my spoons, thus….. Great concept though. I hope one day they get it to work right.

**Developer response:** We've done a lot of bug fixes and the "remember me" toggle is fully functional now. Also, you can carry over activities from a previous day into another day, and replenish spoons now! We appreciate your feedback and I hope you give it another shot. :)

### 3/5 — Needs personalization

*2025-10-11, version 1.1.6*

Just started using the app. Right away I noticed that everyone starts with 12 spoons. But not every day starts with 12 spoons in real life.

Also if one could personalize how many spoons each activity costs the individual, it would give more meaningful data

Needs more activities to choose from.

Also if you could have a category for naps (as opposed to just breaks) because a 5 minute break might replenish one spoon, but a 3 hour nap might replenish 5

## Most praised reviews (10 highest-rated)

### 5/5 — Thank you

*2024-06-21, version 1.1.6*

I’m trying to manage my energy via spoon therapy. Having the app really helps. I know I use more than 12 spoons per day. But I don’t know what my magic number is. So I’m tracking everyday over a month and get an avg spoon count. For free 5 stars but I would like a few adjustments. Ie once I get my spoon count for ME I would like to change the number of spoons I start with.
Thanks you for making this app.

### 5/5 — Great Tool for Spoonies!

*2024-03-17, version 1.1.6*

I have Alzheimer’s and I struggle with maintaining balance while managing daily tasks and the various challenges of each day. Spoon theory is new to me, but it’s the perfect metaphor for my life. And this app does a wonderful job of putting that theory into positive forward-moving action.

I am grateful for this great new tool, but especially to Julie for her one-on-one work with me on the app. How often does one get to actually speak with the developer? With this company, your feedback truly does make a difference.

I can’t believe this app is free! I look forward to using it daily and to being a part of its evolution. Keep up the good work! 🥄

### 5/5 — Spoon Replenishment Exists!

*2022-06-29, version 1.1.6*

I love being able to replenish spoons now! This app gives me a little hope that I can plan, track, and manage my activities and make the most of my day! LOVE!

### 5/5 — Love the app

*2021-12-14, version 1.1.4*

Trouble keeping logged in but if that’s the worst than I’m super happy! It helps me realize why I’m having a flare up because I’ve done too much. Thank you.

### 5/5 — Good app, and here are some suggestions

*2021-06-27, version 1.1.2*

I think this app idea is wonderful and a great start! I would love to HAVE A way to set the number of spoons I start with on a day on a day by day basis, as sometimes it is clear I wake up with more or fewer spoons! Right now I simply recalibrate the way I use the 12 alloyed according to my energy, but if I set spoons at start of day, then I could track that as a useful metric. I’d also love to have some predetermined tasks, or be able to save tasks, like the tiimo app has. If this app could communicate with another task app (eg reminders) that could be useful — then I would have a collection of things I might want to do and I could decide if they fit my spoons. I can do that now but it requires switching between several apps. I love this app, and find it a very useful way to structure my time, as I have progressive MS

### 5/5 — Love love LOVE it!!

*2021-04-23, version 1.1.2*

OMG! I struggle with using too many spoons a day and then crashing the next day. This app helps me know the day before if I can go to school the next day, or if I need to stay home. It’s teaching me to use my spoons wiser than I am right now. I do wish you could have one activity use more than four spoons, but yet again I could just add it twice. Would definitely recommend getting this app if your struggling with using the right number of spoons. 💗💗💗💗💗

### 5/5 — Amazing total free and ad free app

*2020-08-04, version 1.1.2*

Sometimes you may not have the ability to do all the things. With spoonieday I can see the things I’ve actually completed today.

I can assign them a spoon amount and use that to see my progress. Wow, look at what I’ve actually accomplished today!

Would love reoccurring spoons to help me plan future days so I don’t over extend myself.

### 5/5 — Simple, brilliantly

*2020-07-25, version 1.1.2*

Manages my spoons without wasting spoons. Love it!

### 5/5 — Game changer

*2020-05-18, version 1.0*

AWESOME AWESOME AWESOME this is the best app! THANK YOU

### 5/5 — WOW!!!

*2020-05-17, version 1.0*

Amazing!! So easy to track and manage myself, my energy, etc!! Love love love this app!!
