### 1/5 — Wouldn’t let me sign up

*2026-04-21, version 2.2.0*

I tried making an account and it continuously gave me the “reCAPTCHA verification failed” error and wouldn’t allow me to even sign up, it’s really disappointing. I was excited to try this app out and maybe find people to connect and be friends with that are similar to me, but I wasn’t even given the chance to.

### 5/5 — Best app

*2026-04-11, version 2.2.0*

best app ever for chronically ill disabled folks and neurodivergent people. If this shuts down you are shutting down community for thousands of people who can’t make community in person due to reasons they can’t control. I love this app so much. Please for the love of god don’t shut this down

### 4/5 — It’s much better now

*2026-03-27, version 2.1.9*

After the latest updates to the app the amount of scammers and fake profiles has been reduced significantly. I really appreciate the communication from the devs about the fixes they’ve been working on too. The app feels safe again and I’m confident that any lingering issues will be fixed with time

### 2/5 — Too many issues

*2026-02-23, version 2.1.3*

This is supposed to be a supportive area for people that are chronically, ill, disabled, and or neurodivergent. There are so many bots on the site, that it makes it a chore to deal with them. Next is not a dating site. People need to get that through there heads. It had potential, but failed miserably.

### 1/5 — Full of scammers

*2026-01-28, version 2.1.1*

Anything good about this app is completely undermined by the almost obscene number of scammers and bots. The developers need to do a better job of weeding these people out.

### 4/5 — Request for help from Spoony

*2025-12-31, version 2.0.2*

The app is pretty good. Two problems I’ve had:
1. I wanted to download it on my Fairphone 6 e/OS with Murena, but as it’s de-googled and doesn’t have the Apple app store, it won’t download in my murena app store. So I’ve had to download the app on someone else’s phone, which isn’t ideal. I sent an email a few weeks ago to the spoony team asking if they could make a version (possibly open source) that works for non IOS & non android devices, a Linux version &/or a web version, but unfortunately I haven’t heard back at all.
2. I had been talking to someone on the app a few times, but for some reason the chat has vanished (I’m pretty sure I added them as a friend too).

If someone from Spoony could reply about my two issues, that would be really helpful.

### 1/5 — Won’t let me make an account

*2025-12-08, version 1.5.1*

When I try to create an account it says “can’t alloc thread”. I’ve tried deleting it and redownloading it, restarting my phone and even different emails but still stuck on the create an account page :(

### 4/5 — The App is laggy and one of my post hasn’t been posted yet

*2025-12-04*

The app is bugging and laggy so far and I had this one post that I posted, but it hasn’t been posted. I tried to post it one more time, but it didn’t work. The artwork was basically OC characters that I made for people on TikTok and I wanted to share them on this app. I’m usually have this app to post my artwork safe for work basically nothing inappropriate or rule 34 art

I don’t know what is happening on this app but if it doesn’t get fixed, I might as well have to delete my account and delete the app itself and find a new app because I’ve been doing social media app hunting this year trying to find apps that I’m comfortable to post my artwork.

And my haters and framers will not try to bother me ever again because there’s a lot of apps out there that people don’t know what they are

Spoony app is getting to the point that I want to delete the app, but I haven’t decided yet. The reason why I might delete the app because the buggy and laggy is not fixed and this app hasn’t had updates since April or whatever please fix your stuff before I decide to delete the app.

### 3/5 — Too many bugs

*2025-12-04, version 1.5.1*

The constant bugs are getting in the way of making the app enjoyable

### 1/5 — Trivializing and creepy

*2025-11-17, version 1.5.1*

I knew this app was probably designed by cynics, but wow. It encourages you to tag and display not only your diagnoses but every single one of your symptoms, down to “bags under eyes” and “dandruff,” which feels silly, trivializing and very suspect. The only thing it does successfully is bring a bunch of creepy men into your DMs. I feel sorry for the vulnerable people it’s coaxed potentially sensitive information out of.

## Version history (last 5 releases)

### 2.2.0 — 2026-04-03

( * ^ *) ノシ

Bugs, security and performance.
- Faster post editor
- ReCaptcha so less spammy signups
- Image uploading is faster with automatic resizing

As always, feedback and emotional support goes to @sirmewsalot.

### 2.1.9 — 2026-03-23

( * ^ *) ノシ

Uh-oh, @sirmewsalot has been hyper fixated lately.

- A bit more accessibility features, allowing iOS VoiceOver to read images to you if its missing an alt text.
- Removing an extra blocked user check that probably slows the app down by 0.0.1%. Hey, it counts!
- Fix a bug that crashes the app if it can't connect to the server fast enough when the app is launched from the background.

Hope it helps!

### 2.1.8 — 2026-03-20

( * ^ *) ノシ

Uh-oh, @sirmewsalot has been hyper fixated lately.

Fixing the bio edit feature. It wasn't broken, just messy.
Pinned messages are more obvious because we have a little label now.
The feed is faster because we stopped a few extra api calls being every time a single post is clicked/tapped.

### 2.1.7 — 2026-03-20

( * ^ *) ノシ

Teeny tiny update to give you more ways to report on bad behavior inside the chat interface.

As always, feedback and emotional support goes to @sirmewsalot.

### 2.1.6 — 2026-03-11

(_゜_゜_)

Bugs, just fixing bugs.

Annoying bugs.
Depressing bugs.
Bugs that won't quit.
Bugs that don't sleep.
They just sit in the code
Taunting me.
Ugh Bugs.

As always, feedback and bug spray goes to @sirmewsalot.
