## Version history (last 5 releases)

### 2.1.1 — 2026-08-30

What's new in 2.1:

• The expanded route map and the chart comparison screen are now a single screen with two modes. The map gives the chart much more room, and that chart is the full comparison one: add heart rate, cadence, speed or temperature, pinch to zoom and mark a range to see its stats. One button hides the map and leaves the chart full screen in landscape; another brings it back, keeping everything you were looking at.

• When you mark a range on the chart, it gets highlighted over the route on the map and a box shows its stats: distance, time, minimum, average and maximum of every active metric, plus ascent and descent. The box can be dragged around or folded into a button.

• The chart axis switches between distance and time from the chart itself, and the choice is remembered. The time axis measures moving time, the same one shown in the workout header.

• Before recording, the sport and the start button sit under a block showing your sensors live: whether they are searching or connected and the value they are reading right now. If the sport supports sensors you are not using, a line reminds you. Tapping a line connects the sensor right there.

• Getting-started guide: if permissions or your details (age, weight, height) are missing, the app tells you at startup and takes you to the right screen with one tap. Your details are used for calories and zones, and they never leave your device.

• When location is missing, a clear message over the map tells you what to do, with a direct button to the system settings.

• The sports list in your Profile is now organised in groups (On foot, Cycling, Water sports, Gym, Others).

• Route search suggests your previous searches and finds routes containing all the typed words, in any order and ignoring accents.

• More realistic maximum speed: it is now measured as the speed sustained for ten seconds, in your recordings and in imported routes too.

• History: routes with elevation gain show it in the list, long names take two lines, and age is shown in the readable unit (years, months, days or hours).

### 2.0.1 — 2026-08-26

SportMetrix keeps evolving!

What's new in 2.0:

• New heart rate and cadence charts in the route detail, each with its average line. Until now you could only see the zone breakdown, without knowing where your heart rate or cadence went up or down. The cadence chart discards the impossible spikes (over 200 rpm) some sensors report, and the section ends with its own zone map, like heart rate and speed.

• Cleaner charts: each one shows a single metric, without the elevation profile that used to be overlaid on the speed and pace charts. Above every chart, the same value format: minimum on the left, average in the centre and maximum on the right, each with its unit. Speed, pace, heart rate and cadence are drawn as filled bars: with signals that swing a lot, a line looked like a comb of spikes.

• New comparison screen: tap any chart in the detail and the phone rotates to landscape to cross metrics. It opens with the chart you tapped, alone, and at the bottom you pick what to cross it with (elevation, speed, heart rate, cadence, temperature), several at once if you want. Pinch to zoom in (you get real detail of the route, not a stretched image) and scroll with the bar below. A tap reads the values at that point, with the numbers next to the line and a dot where it crosses each chart.

• Ranges: drag one finger across the chart to mark a range and see its summary (minimum, average and maximum of every visible metric, length, elapsed time and, with elevation visible, the accumulated ascent). Each edge of the range has a handle: touch it to grab that end and stretch or shrink the range without marking it again. The range is tied to the data, so zooming or scrolling keeps it on the same part of the route. The data box can be moved with its handle and folded into an info button to see the charts with nothing in front.

• Charts your way: next to each section title there is a circle with its chart colour; tapping it opens a palette with a tone bar (lighter or darker). The chosen colour applies to every chart of that metric and is remembered. In the comparison screen, long-pressing a metric button also adjusts its opacity and its style (bars, line or filled line). When that screen opens, a hint reminds you of these gestures the first few times, and a help button brings it back.

• New cadence zones (under 50, 50-65, 65-75, 75-90 and over 90 rpm), centred on the range where you actually pedal: with the previous ones almost all the time fell into two zones.

• A tidier route detail: the elevation section moves ahead of speed, the map thumbnail becomes the ROUTE section, the waypoint list and the trim block fold by tapping their header (the app remembers how you left it) and the waypoint header breaks down how many are text, photo and voice notes. Side margins are reduced: charts and tables gain almost 50 px of usable width.

• History in Cards mode: long descriptions are trimmed to four lines with an arrow to expand them, as in the activity detail.

Bug fixes:

• Speed, heart rate and cadence charts: black columns appeared where there should have been data. A zero was treated as a missing reading, when a stop (speed 0) or coasting (cadence 0) are real values; the chart now only breaks when the sensor really stops reporting.

• iPhone: the comparison screen did not rotate to landscape and, stuck in portrait, the bar charts were not drawn for lack of width. It now rotates just like on Android.

• Comparison screen: the range and the reading line did not land where you touched (the mark appeared shifted to the right of your finger). Also, pinching to zoom over an already marked range could be mistaken for a new selection.

• Speed chart of indoor sports: the axis time labels could be one hour ahead on routes of almost two hours.

• Performance: the temperature chart recalculated the route distances on every repaint, which slowed down the detail of long routes.

### 1.95.0 — 2026-08-23

SportMetrix keeps evolving!

What's new in 1.95:

• Voice notes on waypoints: the map waypoint button now opens a panel with three big options (Text, Photo, Audio), designed to be tapped on the move. The Audio option starts recording instantly (level bar, counter, Cancel and Save; it saves automatically after 90 s or when you lock the phone) and creates a waypoint with a microphone icon at the point where you started recording. Play it back by tapping the waypoint on the map or from the route detail; rename and delete it like any other waypoint. Notes are stored only on your phone and the voice announcer is muted while recording. Microphone permission is requested the first time.

• Waypoints: the edit dialog lets you add a photo from the gallery or record a voice note on any waypoint, remove only the attachment (photo or audio) or delete the whole waypoint. In the expanded map of the history you can create text, photo or audio waypoints at the tapped point and move a waypoint by long-pressing and dragging it. When typing the name of a text waypoint, suggestions are filtered by what you type.

• Protection against accidental pauses: the "Pause" bar requires holding for 1 second; during a manual pause a semi-transparent red pause icon with the paused time is shown over the map and, if you keep moving with the route paused, the phone vibrates every minute to warn you. The "no GPS location" warning becomes a big icon in the same area.

• Backup: if there are waypoints with photos or voice notes, you are asked whether to include them (with count and estimated size; the file becomes a .zip). When restoring a .zip the files go back to their place; previous backups restore as before. New "Delete all activities" option (profile and settings are kept), with confirmation.

• Redesigned dialogs: every dialog in the app shares the same square buttons (X at the top right to close, red with trash to delete, green with check to accept/save); option menus (portals, export, offline maps, restore backup) share the same row style with icon. The export format selector shows the extensions (.gpx, .fit, .geojson) as icon.

• Portals (Strava, Garmin, MisRutas): when uploading a route, downloading its track or syncing changes a spinner blocks the screen until done. Share location: Waze and Apple Maps links fixed so the point is pinned correctly.

Bug fixes:

• Performance with hundreds of routes: route lists no longer load the map thumbnail of every route (previously over 100 MB of images per load: the simulation took 4-8 s to start and the app could go black). Thumbnails now load one by one as they come on screen and backups no longer include them.

• iPhone: if you started recording with a countdown and locked the phone, recording did not start until unlocking. The app now keeps GPS active during the countdown so the start fires on time with the screen locked.

• Route temperature: when re-downloading temperatures, times were compared in local time instead of UTC, with a 1-2 hour offset; fixed, and if the download is incomplete the current values are kept.

• Route detail: waypoint changes made from the list are reflected instantly in the expanded map. Some dialog titles could overflow with large fonts.

### 1.94.0 — 2026-08-20

SportMetrix keeps evolving!

What's new in 1.94:

• Redesigned sport selection: the top carousel is gone; the sport is now chosen with a button built into the "Start activity" bar, both on the map and in the Data screen. It opens your list of preferred sports and, when you pick an indoor sport, the app takes you straight to the data screen.

• Refreshed map panel: time is now shown as H:MM:SS with a clock icon and dimmed leading zeros, elevation gain and heart rate show bigger values with a heart next to the pulse, and everything adjusts automatically when values grow (very long routes or multi-digit elevation gains).

• Clearer heart rate alerts: two options, "Beep when out of range" (based on your estimated maximum heart rate) and "Custom range" (with a min-max bar that drives both the sound and the visual alert). The heart on the map panel turns red and pulses when your heart rate is in the alert zone, with the number fading in sync with the beat; the mute button now shows whenever any sound alert is active and silences all of them at once.

• Improved slope colors: the climb gradient goes from 2 to 4 bands (2-4%, 4-6%, 6-8% and over 8%) with an orange-to-red ramp, and on out-and-back routes the steeper sections are painted on top, so the descent no longer hides the climb.

• Live route sharing: if position uploads keep failing (no coverage area), the map badge turns red and its panel shows how many positions are pending and how long ago the last one reached the server. Everything returns to normal with the first successful upload.

• Route detail: long descriptions collapse to 4 lines with the edit pencil always visible; double tap to expand or collapse. Also, a long press on the temperature chart re-downloads all the temperature data for the route.

• Map: the dark "no map" mode now uses pure black, with the battery savings that brings on OLED screens. The values panel is shown at the top by default on new installs.

Bug fixes:

• Heatmap: the Road and On-foot layers could stay invisible forever after a heatmap reorganization on the server; the app now detects it and recovers automatically.

• Waypoints: name suggestions no longer include default names like "WP1".

• The minimum iOS version rises to 15.0 (Apple requirement); no additional iPhone model is left out.

### 1.93.0 — 2026-08-14

SportMetrix keeps evolving!

What's new in 1.93:

• New language: Portuguese (Brazilian variant). The whole interface, voice announcements and number formats, selectable from Profile → Language.

• Share with ID: publish an outdoor route with a 6-digit ID valid for 1 to 30 days, so whoever receives it can import it into SportMetrix (History → Import → With shared ID) or RouteDesigner. You can copy the ID, regenerate it or stop sharing at any time. The route is only visible during that time and only to whoever has the ID.

• Photos on your route: new camera button while recording outdoors. The photo creates a waypoint right where you are, with a full-screen viewer (zoom), cropping and copy to the phone gallery. You can also assign a gallery photo to a waypoint without one from the route detail.

• Data screen, "Move cards": press and hold a card and drag it to rearrange it, or tap it to hide or show it. The order and hidden cards are remembered per sport and included in the backup.

• Data screen, colors: each value card can have its own color, with a 12-color palette. The chosen color is also applied to the map's data area.

• Sport switching: the sport icon next to the stopwatch is now a selector; while recording, a long press switches the whole ongoing activity to another sport of the same category.

• Bluetooth sensors: if a card depends on an enabled sensor with no data, it shows a pulsing orange button that opens the sensor setup without leaving the screen. Each sport remembers its last sensor configuration.

• Map: tapping a waypoint opens its sheet to rename it, delete it or share its exact location (Google Maps, Apple Maps and Waze links).

• Map: the data area (speed, distance, time, elevation) can be moved to the very top of the screen and back down; the position is remembered.

• Waypoints: the name starts with a capital letter automatically and the dialog suggests your most recent and most used names.

• Route detail: all actions are grouped in a "..." menu at the top right, and the footer shows "Available on:" with the synced portals.

• MisRutas: waypoint photo sync with the portal (upload, update or delete, up to 3 per route).

Bug fixes:

• Auto-pause: after resuming an interrupted recording it stayed disabled for the rest of the route; also, a GPS fluctuation could leave the recording in manual pause without touching it, losing kilometres. Both fixed.

• Map: if an invalid value corrupted the camera, the map froze to black until the app was killed; the last valid view is now restored automatically.

• Waypoints: the add waypoint button disappeared during pause and auto-pause; it now shows whenever a route is being recorded.

• Heatmap: downloaded content is validated (a server failure could leave the heatmap empty forever) and worldwide heatmaps are visible from further away.

• Battery: animations of hidden tabs are paused and the battery usage indicator works even if you start the route with the phone charging.
