I've never seen a whole ball game without restarting the app at least once. It's embarrassing that the richest media company in the country can't handle a stable app. ### 2/5 — New update broke app *2026-08-29, version 8.47.0* Recent update prevents favourites from being added. Can’t get any updates 🤨 ### 2/5 — App Bugs *2026-08-18, version 8.46.1* I am unable to set up my favorite teams on my iPhone and iPad. When I choose a team, the app gives me an error saying it’s unavailable and then crashes. I am also unable to log into my account on AppleTV so I can watching the streaming services. It goes through the process of connecting using my tv provider but then crashes out and then the app won’t even open again in AppleTV. I even tried streaming from my iPad to my AppleTV, but again, it crashes. ### 2/5 — Get Cable. Don’t Waste Your Money. *2026-08-15, version 8.46.1* I’ve been a long time subscriber and the price keeps going up without any value being added. I just want to watch the Oilers and the Blue Jays without blackout restrictions. I don’t care about interviews, or analyses, or any extra stuff. There needs to be better price points with options to select only what you will actually watch, so you aren’t wasting money. At almost $400 for a yearly subscription now, I’ve cancelled mine. Probably just look at getting cable or something, but I definitely will not be subscribing again. The price hikes irritated me so much I even switched my cell phone to Telus after being a Rogers customer for over 20 years. The Sportsnet app also has a lot of bugs and often whatever I’m watching produces an error after a few minutes of play. The service went down too during the most intense inning of one of the Blue Jays World Series games in 2025 and remained down for at least a half hour. THIS APP IS A JOKE! This subscription app is ridiculously overpriced. Their streams constantly fail, specially during big games. Recently, they increased the subscription fee without offering any new features or resolving the major issues with their app and streaming. As if that wasn’t bad enough, they offer no costumer service at all! It is impossible to reach them when an issue arises. They are indifferent to their faults: for example, many paying costumers experienced serious issues while trying to watch the blue jays World Series, we did not get a refund or any form of compensation. Constantly freezes, screen sharing is nearly impossible, gotta log back in you account all the time. Get it together ### 1/5 — Worst sports app there is *2026-08-13, version 8.46.1* I signed up for a 12 month (to make it cheaper) subscription to Sportsnet + and god do I regret my mistake. I’ve had ongoing issues every day with this app, whether it’s the video quality, connecting to my tv via chrome cast or the live game not working on the app.. At first I reached out to the customer service which I realized quickly how incompetent the people are, they couldn’t reimburse me and cancel my subscription and they had no idea why I was experiencing these difficulties with the app. I gave it a few months in hopes that it would get better. I had the same issues as before and I reached out via email to get some support or guidance. I didn’t hear anything back from customer service and now I’ve given up completely. I’ve never had issues with any other sport streaming apps such as DAZN, Fubo, TSN +, or Amazon prime. And while I’m writing this review the Jays game against the Red Sox stopped working on the app so I’ve missed a bunch of the game. I would rate this app zero stars if I could. It even makes my phone heat up sometimes and excessively drains battery. Games will drop you from the live feed and force you to watch from the start, the tracking doesn’t work so you can’t get back to where you were. It’s honestly shocking that such a rich company puts their name on an app this bad. That’s not even mentioning how they continue to raise prices multiple times. Rogers better pray they keep their exclusive streaming rights because anyone who uses this app will jump ship the second there’s an even remotely viable alternative. ### 1/5 — Buggy *2026-08-13, version 8.46.1* Stream repeatedly disconnect, lags, buffers. Once stream dies even app restarts do not fix the issue. Live jays games sometimes play yesterdays game and then show a program completed screen. It crashes at least once during every game. If I start a game late and choose “watch from the beginning,” a crash after the game has ended can leave no option to restart it—or the highlights menu appears and reveals the final score, ruining the game. If I manage to avoid a spoiler, I still need to restart from the beginning and fast forward to try and find where it left off. Every single game. Paying too much to have the game watching experience ruined. Instant access to a wide variety of sports has maintained my interest in my favourites and piqued my interest in several other sports. The biggest beef is the issue of the app frequently freezing or not loading correctly. The freezing happens part way through video clips or even when scrolling through articles. This definitely takes away from the overall experience. **Developer response:** Hi, sorry to hear the issue you are facing. I like the overall set up and that I can access the radio broadcast in the app! My main issue is that while streaming with airpods, the app struggles to accommodate my headphones and always resets the stream. The audio will be missing with both my phone speaker or my airpods which causes me to need to reset the app. I would love to keep using the app to stream but this has become a major hinderance when trying to watch my games. I would really appreciate the devs looking at how this can be prevented! And no it’s not because of my connection because I have no issues using TSN or other streaming apps to cast on the tv. Just this one.
