Have used it several times to find good parking at affordable rates in Toronto. Unfortunately I recently had a very negative experience. We paid for parking like we usually do in downtown Toronto this past July. When we got back to our car we had a $98 parking ticket on our window…as did several other cars. I reached out to SpotHero right away. They said they would escalate the matter. I never did hear back from them so I reached out again. In the meantime, we received a collection letter for the $98. I had to reach out several times to SpotHero until someone finally responded. They ended up refunding us our $16 parking fee but we still have a $98 ticket to pay! This is unacceptable. We paid for parking, we parked in the right area (I took photos to show this). And we are still pity if pocket? And now none of my emails are being responded to. Really disappointed in this. ### 2/5 — Vehicle search is terrible *2026-08-29, version 8.12.0* Trying to find your car make and model is horrible. It won’t find my Mercedes model. It’s a 2 year old car. No way to enter it manually. Not only did I have to pay the parking garage fee to get OUT but spot hero told me because I arrived early and even though I pressed arrived early and was given a QR code to scan that it was my fault and only given a credit. Why in the world would I try again when they can’t even refund me? Just pay the parking fee in the garage don’t go through this app. Save yourself double the price!! ### 1/5 — Scam *2026-08-31, version 8.12.0* You have to prepay to reserve your spot, but if there are any issues getting into the garage they will not refund you. I have tried to use this app twice, both times ended up having to go to another parking garage and paying for parking again. The most frustrating part is sitting at the machine in your car, scanning the QR code, and then sitting there waiting for it to let you in while traffic piles up behind you. Trying to get help on the machine itself only for them to put you into a call center queue so you call the security number for the building who also doesn't help. Do yourself a favor and just drive to a garage and take the ticket instead. This is what I'll be doing moving forward. ### 1/5 — User beware. *2026-08-30, version 8.12.0* Similar to other reviews, they have no systems in place should anything go wrong. Poor customer service did not offer support or take accountability for unclear instructions and inconsistent photos. No support, credit, or refund is available, they would rather collect a one time transaction fee and lose a customer than actually provide service. A poor business model. ### 1/5 — App has poor tracking. *2026-08-27, version 8.12.0* The app is completely turned around in New York City. It showed me that the garage was in One Direction when it was really in another direction did not spot my location easily and overall incredibly confusing. I will never use this app again. ### 1/5 — Double Charge *2026-08-27, version 8.12.0* Prepaid for parking through SpotHero and also got charged by the lot. SpotHero credited what I got charged by the lot up to the amount the SpotHero reservation was for and gave a credit for the remaining on my account. Had to call them twice to have them credit me, ignored the first time. First time using app and will never use again, made parking experience more difficult. ### 1/5 — Keep having issues with reservations *2026-08-26, version 8.12.0* I love SpotHero in theory, but I’ve had multiple issues where I had made a reservation, show up - the garage is closed, the garage won’t be open for the duration that I had booked it, the garage was full and the owner was allegedly not able to stop reservations from happening. Every time I have to make new arrangements, lose time, sometimes money. I will say customer service at SpotHero has been great - but something with the app needs fixing to be more aligned with the real world conditions of the garages you book. ### 1/5 — Rating *2026-08-26, version 8.12.0* I have had several problems with Spot Hero and they all were due to a general problem that they do not thoroughly check out the venues where they arrange parking. For example, I was given specific instructions to show my code “to the cashier” at a hotel parking structure but the exit only had an automatic gate, so I ended up having to pay the hotel’s fee on top of Spot Hero’s fee to get out. On another occasion I waited over 40 minutes due to the fact that they did not specify that the shuttle I should look for would have the name of the hotel rather than “Spot Hero.” ### 1/5 — Complete disregard for the customer experience *2026-08-25, version 8.12.0* SpotHero offers a lot of convenience. For example, I like the feature where i indicate an event I’m attending and it offers parking options nearby. But don’t be fooled! I was offered an option that closed at 7 PM even though my event would clearly go much later than that. And if you expect that SpotHero will offer a refund when the screw up like this, you’ve got another thing coming. There are plenty of parking apps - find one that values the customer experience. ### 1/5 — Terrible support when your code does not work *2026-08-25, version 8.11.0* SpotHero has been working great normally. But a few days ago, when the code was not working, and I followed the instructions to call SpotHero support first. The customer representative was rude and could not help in any way. Terrible experience. ### 1/5 — BS *2026-08-24, version 8.11.0* Prices change by the minute of looking at the app as if they’re a selling stock. It’s UNUSED parking spaces. You can only adjust times by 30min increments. Cant arrive early. If you leave 1 minute late you receive a ticket.
