## What is SpotTrove?

Park in New York without the guesswork. SpotTrove shows which spots are legal right now — block by block, in real time — so you stop circling and stop getting tickets. No account needed: open the app and the map is right there.

TAP THE MAP, READ THE CURB
• Live, color-coded legality for NYC streets: green means park now, red means don't — with the exact rule behind it.
• One block is not one rule. The stretch by the bus stop, the daylighting corner and the sign-posted middle all differ — tap between them instead of guessing which one your car is on.

KNOW WHAT IT COSTS BEFORE YOU PARK
• Metered blocks carry their price right on the map — so a paid block never looks like a free one.
• Tap for the whole picture: what the first hour costs, what the full stay costs, and how long you're allowed to stay.
• The ParkNYC zone number is right there too. Copy it and pay from the car instead of walking to the meter to read it off the pole.
• Outside meter hours the price disappears, because parking really is free then.

AN ALARM, NOT JUST A NOTIFICATION
• Park, then set an alarm for 60 and 30 minutes before your block turns illegal. It rings through Silent mode and Focus, the way your Clock app does — not one more banner you swipe away half-asleep and remember two minutes after the sweeper. (Premium. Real alarm on iOS 26 and later; earlier versions get a time-sensitive alert.)

SNAP A SIGN, GET AN ANSWER
• Point your camera at any parking sign — SpotTrove reads the whole pole, every panel, and tells you if you can park there right now.

CAN'T PARK? SEE THE NEAREST GARAGE
• When a block is off-limits, SpotTrove shows the closest garage with a real price, so you always have a plan B.

FIND ANY BLOCK, FAST
• Search an address or an intersection like "31st & 5th" and jump straight there.

SAVE YOUR SPOTS
• Bookmark the block by work, the spot near a friend's place, or the street that's always open on Sundays.

BUILT ON REAL DATA
• Powered by NYC Open Data and on-the-ground reports — not guesses. See a sign that changed? Snap a photo and report it in seconds.

SPOTTROVE PREMIUM
• A real alarm that rings through Silent mode before your spot turns illegal
• Push alerts before street cleaning
• Live map refresh with no delay
• Unlimited saved spots

## Version history (last 5 releases)

### 1.6 — 2026-08-20

The map shows you free parking first. A free block and a metered block used to be the same green — now free is the brightest thing on screen, metered is a step softer, and the price sits quietly beside it instead of shouting. Street names are readable again too.

Garage prices tell the truth. "$24.50 / hr" was never an hourly rate — that's what one hour costs, and two hours costs less than double. Tap a garage and you get what the first hour costs, what two hours cost, and what all day costs, sorted and translated out of operator shorthand, with day, night and weekend rates kept apart instead of jumbled together.

Also fixed: the map no longer goes blank for up to a minute when you pan, and zooming out no longer quietly drops blocks off the map.

### 1.5 — 2026-08-18

Meter prices are on the map. A metered block now shows what it costs, so a paid block never looks like a free one — and tapping it gives you the first hour, the full stay, how long you can stay, and the ParkNYC zone number to pay with. Tap the number to copy it; no more walking to the meter to read it.

Also: the searched address now drops a pin so you can see exactly where you landed.

### 1.4 — 2026-08-09

See the map before you sign up. Open SpotTrove and the parking map is right there — tap any block for its rules, search an address, check what's legal right now. You only need an account when you want to save a spot or get an alert before your block turns illegal.

Also new:
• Sign in with Google, alongside Apple and email.
• When the city suspends alternate-side parking, the map says so — with the holiday behind it.

### 1.3 — 2026-07-30

We're always tightening things up. This release brings behind-the-scenes reliability and performance improvements so your parking map stays fast and accurate.

If SpotTrove has saved you from a ticket, a quick rating goes a long way — thanks for parking with us.

### 1.2 — 2026-07-23

New here? The map now shows you how it works.
• Open the app and a short checklist walks you through it — find a block you can park on, tap it to see the rules, then tell us you parked. It ticks itself off as you go, and you can replay it anytime from your profile.
• A block isn't one rule. The stretch by the bus stop, the daylighting corner, and the sign-posted middle all have different rules — and now you can tap between them instead of guessing which one your car is on. If you're parked on one stretch while reading another, we say so plainly.
• Rules that never change now read "Always" instead of a clock range that looked like a schedule.
• Fixes: alarms that quietly failed to set now tell you. Premium members with notifications turned off can park again. And your Premium won't lapse early or cut out on a subscription you've already paid through.
