### 5/5 — Social Media the way it's supposed to be

*2025-01-29, version 1.0.8*

Perfect. So grateful to Chris Bouzy.

### 5/5 — Great space

*2025-01-28, version 1.0.8*

I’ve been on it for a while now and it is still 100 times better than the alternatives. As long as it sticks to its promise to fight bots, harassment and disinformation, I’m in.
Sure, there will be jerks and accounts you won’t agree with, but the “Block” and “Mute” buttons work really well ;) along with so many other great features.

### 5/5 — Awesome App with real people!

*2025-01-27, version 1.0.8*

This app is the future of social media. Nothing but facts on here no propaganda!

### 5/5 — Great Alternative

*2025-01-27, version 1.0.8*

Left Twitter and Bluesky. Been on Spoutible since inception.

### 5/5 — Safe, Intelligent, Friendly

*2025-01-27, version 1.0.8*

The best social media app around. No one is allowed to bully or intimidate. Constantly improving the technology and easy communication with the founder if you have a need or problem. Try it, you’ll like it!

### 5/5 — Free to be you and me…

*2025-01-26, version 1.0.8*

Spoutible was conceived to be a safe site to engage and explore like minded people as well as push the status norm. There are no algorithms and you create your own community. The community rises up the positive and you have all the tools you need to shut out and shut down the trolls.

### 5/5 — Safe and sound

*2025-01-26, version 1.0.8*

Great community. No crazy algorithms.

### 5/5 — Nontoxic No-algorithm 🐳Twitter Alternative

*2025-01-26, version 1.0.8*

This excellent app is like Twitter was 10 years ago but light years better. You choose your sources and news topics. You explore by clicking words of interest on the word cloud, use explore button (compass), follow people, like, echo or quote spout (retweet), spout (tweet). There is no algorithm! Which throws X/Twitter refugees off at first— you need to choose what to look at and who to follow. But you are in control. Trolls and bots are swiftly dealt with. It is a safe space. There’s automatic fact-checking, easy threading of spouts, and fun pods and themes if you need a break from politics. Been using this for nearly 2 years and absolutely love it.

### 5/5 — The Realest

*2025-01-26, version 1.0.8*

Everything I want from Social Media

### 5/5 — A Beautiful Community

*2025-01-26, version 1.0.8*

Spoutible is fabulous. A smart, inclusive, fun community within an increasingly fraught social media environment. The tools are extensive, the protections strong, the management responsive and brilliant. And community members are welcoming and intelligent. Spoutible is built so that *you* are the architect of your social media experience.

### 5/5 — Peace and engagement

*2025-01-26, version 1.0.8*

Spoutible is a platform that allows a respectful freedom of discourse. I feel safe sharing my views because I know I won’t be swarmed. I will be held accountable if there are conflicts and I am allowed to grow from my mistakes. The diversity and priority of marginalized voices gives me a chance to grow in a safe space while listening to others.

### 5/5 — The Best Social Media App in 2025

*2025-01-26, version 1.0.8*

Spoutible is the best social media app out there. New features keep coming. Scammers and bots are reported and removed. Community is growing. No algorithm to dictate what members see or are influenced by. Just actual people creating community and interest-based sub- communities. If you’re leaving the hate-filled spaces, this is where you want to be.

### 5/5 — A new social media home

*2025-01-26, version 1.0.8*

Spoutible is what social media platforms should strive to be: innovative, thoughtful, safe. You can be yourself on Spoutible, and you will find your pod 🐳

## Most critical reviews (10 lowest-rated)

### 1/5 — Broken on vpn

*2026-06-16, version 1.0.9*

I have to turn off my vpn, or I just get a white screen. --- Needs way to block hashtags.

### 1/5 — The Cult of Bouzy

*2025-06-27, version 1.0.8*

Spoutible is nothing more than a cult. The main participants are nothing more than loyalists to the apps creator, C. Bouzy. They will uphold his actions and statements on anything, wrong or right. I have witnessed Bouzy be absolutely wrong in situations and ban someone from the app because they didn’t agree with his wrongness. And this is constant. You will notice that in each pod, there are favorites who always grace the stage. I believe that most people are afraid to jump up and actually speak for fear of being banned. The same is true for the chat part of the pods as well. Also, everything about Spoutible is based off of ideas stolen from other apps. Yes, the general foundation of social media apps is going to be the same, but Bouzy has time and time again stated that he is going to take something from Fanbase or Instagram or YouTube but put a “twist” on it and make it better for Spoutible. Go to Fanbase. Isaac pops into the spaces there but he’s not a dictator. It’s okay to disagree with him. We’re dealing with enough cults these days. Don’t go join one just to socialize. There are other options.

### 1/5 — Screen constantly goes to white & bounces me back to top of my timeline

*2025-06-02, version 1.0.8*

I was an early user of Spoutible and loved it. But there is an ongoing problem that they seem incapable (or uninterested) in fixing that makes using the app nearly impossible: After about 10-15 minutes on Spoutible, the screen goes to white and I'm bounced back to the top of my timeline. I've reported this to Spoutible Support. I've cleared my cache, deleted the app and redownloaded it. The problem continues. Will no one at Spoutible fix this?!?!?

### 1/5 — Useless

*2025-04-09, version 1.0.8*

Won’t let me verify, therefore, won’t let me post anything.

### 1/5 — NEW UPDATE FORCING PODS IN TIMELINE

*2024-09-11*

WHY is there no option in the timeline settings to turn off or opt out of the persistent Pod at the top of the timeline? Do not want this. Am not interested in seeing, listening to The Morning Commute or any other Pod all day every day. If I ever want to listen to a Pod, I will find one on my own.

PLEASE STOP with the auto-start Pods in the timeline, already playing when the app opens! The Pods feature is a resource hog and should always be OPTIONAL to join. It is using up bandwidth and running down the battery. It's also hard to stop the audio, in fact I see no way to do that without closing the app. This is a bad idea, please make it stop. I'm not looking for an audio content delivery app, the audio is an optional feature for me. Glad it's working for you, but don't make it mandatory.

Pull down to update seems to do nothing. Accounts that have been suspended for terms violations still show up in the followers list. Those accounts should DISAPPEAR. ETA Would like option to choose which browser opens external links. Muted and blocked accounts should not display anywhere to the users who have muted or blocked. The "firehose" of new posts (enjoy access to this) in the "compass" section of the app is buggy; I often become trapped if I click on a post there and it opens a thread. The back arrow does not go all the way back to the real time list and then have to go back to the main menu and start over. ETA: Would love it if the app worked like nearly every other for iOS and allowed gestures like pinch to zoom. It is incredibly frustrating that the app still functions like a web page. ETA: It has taken me this long to realize the "app" is showing an image of the Spoutible web page. You can't copy text from spouts, they are just pictures.

### 1/5 — Sold out for Ads

*2024-05-18, version 1.0.8*

The app is now riddled with ads and sharing your data with third parties unfortunately.

### 1/5 — Not that safe a space

*2024-05-07, version 1.0.8*

While most of the users are great, the CEO isn’t. You need to watch what you say as he’ll suspend you for the tiniest criticism. You don’t even have to break the TOS of the platform. I saw many people suspended just for asking a legitimate question. Then he allows a small segment to pile on, harass and attack anyone they want without fear of reprisal. If you try and report them, you’ll get suspended. Keep your head down, don’t interact or criticize with the CEO, and you may be OK.

### 1/5 — Dystopian nightmare

*2024-05-05*

I was so excited for a new kind of social media where you could express yourself freely and not live in fear of harassment and hate. Sadly, Spoutible ain’t it. I used the website and then app for over a year and saw the true nature of the CEO. He micromanages every issue on the site and attacks users for any criticism or even for just questioning him, putting them on blast to his tens of thousands of followers. I have seen him hold pods, like Twitter spaces, just to badmouth and lie about users. He suspends or bans users for unknown reasons, never telling them or anyone what their infraction was. He is obsessed with the royal family so hope that is your jam. Also, he uses Twitter more than his own website so that tells you something. Spoutible is good for some lols at its CEO, but not for free speech.

### 1/5 — Beware

*2024-05-05, version 1.0.8*

I thought Spoutible was going to be a safe space for me as a member of the LGBT community. To be fair, the first few months were good. Then a handful of accounts began attacking my friend, who reported it with screensnap evidence, and the CEO (who does everything, there’s no team) ignored it. The abuse continued until my friend was suspended for trying to defend himself. This pattern continued with several others, myself included, who indicated any sort of problem with the site, users, or CEO. In fact, the CEO breaks his own TOS rule of ‘rallying’ by quoting any such message so that his sycophants can attack the person who posted. Who does this remind you of?

It was never a safe space.

### 1/5 — Good concept, ruined by a lack of moderation

*2024-04-11*

I was really rooting for Spoutible when I first signed up, tired of the endless political trolling, racism, misogyny, etc. at Twitter. Over time, however, Spoutible has become stale without any kind of algorithm or any informative larger accounts to liven things up. They seem to do a good job of keeping the bots away, which is nice, but without a basic effort at moderation the site is devolving into groups that attack one another and bring the entire experience back to (just like Twitter) largely blocking accounts just to keep your feed from being a bunch of spats, raging, and bickering. Some accounts appear to have been given carte blanche to harass others without any sort of accountability, which is suspicious given the site’s supposed credo of being a safe space. It became tiresome to observe, and if you’re not into observing the most base, middle school behavior of adults on social media, I’d skip this one. Spoutible is an interesting and noble concept, but human behavior and lack of coherent moderation keep it from achieving its stated goal. Last comment, the app is a mirror of the browser version, so if you’re looking for a true app experience you won’t find it.
