## What is Spring Reverb?

Spring Reverb models the sound and character of popular spring reverbs found in guitar amplifiers, popularized by Surf, Garage and Rockabilly music. Spring takes this a step further by allowing manipulation of physical parameters not normally available in a real spring tank. The results vary from faithful recreations of real springs to distinctive new sounds that push the physical boundaries of reverb. Guitarists love the revered surfer vibe but all creative musicians will find that Spring makes any synthesizer, drum, or vocal stand out in a mix.

This vintage reverb sound originally derived from the reflections of sound waves traveling through springs has been given an overhaul for the 21st century and beyond. Eventide Spring contains two different sized ‘spring tanks’ along with the ability to morph between one and three springs. Easily program The Ribbon to seamlessly transition between any two settings in real-time! The added tube-amp-style tremolo can be routed before or after the spring resulting in an unrivaled ability to craft your own unique reverb sound. Alter the intensity by changing the tremolo depth and adjust the tremolo rate in Hz, or note value when tempo-synced to your project.

Features:
- Artist presets by Matt Lange, Nick Hook, and Nu-Trix.
- Tempo Sync reverb decay to your DAW.
- Craft original sounds by changing the number of springs and damping frequency.
- Alter overall resonance by selecting the size of the spring tank.
- Tube-amp-style tremolo that can be routed pre- or post-reverb.
- Create chorus-like effects by altering Modulation Level.
- The Ribbon controller allows for dynamic modification of several knobs at once to easily morph between settings.
- Programmable Hotswitch provides the ability to jump instantly to an alternate sound at the push of a button.
- Available as an Audio Units AUv3 plug-in and Standalone App.

### 5/5 — Yeah

*2023-12-08*

Underrated verb that sounds nice and retro on vocals and drums and what have you. I like the Metallic Slapback setting in SHORT reverb category.

### 1/5 — Doesn‘t sound like a spring reverb

*2023-10-25*

I don‘t get all the positive reviews. I bought this, because I thought Eventide does the quality stuff - I was ok with the price being higher than IOS alternatives because of that. But this just doesn‘t sound like a spring reverb. I didn‘t find a good one yet for IOS but the others at least have a spring character to them. They should at least make a demo version. This was pretty much the worst spent money on an auv3.

### 2/5 — Cutting off stars because

*2023-08-11*

Extremely bellow standard communication, is not expected, it’s like ommunicating with IK multimedia

### 1/5 — Not a spring reverb

*2022-12-05*

It’s not a bad app, and someone will find it useful. However, it is marketed as a spring reverb and has repeating delays in the attack spring reverbs don’t have repeating delays. This is a poor attempt at a spring emulation.

**Developer response:** Hi, sorry to hear you are not satisfied. The Spring Reverb app can get into "special fx" territory with more extreme settings, but you should still be able to dial in quite realistic spring reverb settings. Please email support@eventide.com with the settings you are using and we can help you find some realistic parameter settings.

### 5/5 — Give spring reverbs a try!

*2022-12-03*

I’ve never used spring reverbs before.. and this was a great first experience! You may or may not like the sound because it’s different than normal verbs.

### 5/5 — Best. Spring. Ever

*2022-05-02*

I originally came across this Algo being demo’d on YouTube in an Eventide Space pedal. Bought that pedal, then a few years later the H9. Having the same sound in IPad is amazing value. App itself takes up little CPU, supports midi, and plays nicely in Loopy Pro. Would give 10 stars if possible.

### 5/5 — Best iOS spring verb

*2022-04-05*

Sounds great on a drum bus. Can do everything from realistic to very metallic out there tones. Like most eventide effects it is very flexible if you’re willing to venture past the presets. Worth it.

### 5/5 — Love it

*2021-11-30*

Sounds great with my synth apps. I don’t know what the complaints are about. Make it sound out there and make it sound like noisy old spring reverb.

### 5/5 — Worth the time

*2021-04-13*

Definitely don’t judge this by the presets, they’re awful and all just totally “out there.” But take the time to dial it in as a nice, musical reverb tank emulation, and this thing can really pull off some beautiful sounds. I’ve never found a “perfect” spring reverb auv3, but this is probably the only one I’d try to record with. It’ll get you there, but you do need to play with it a little.

### 1/5 — I hate to say this...

*2021-03-24*

I’m a Surf Guitar guy... Spring reverb is everything for me . I got this because garage band doesn’t have a spring reverb option... this truly is terrible. I have had Eventide products that I loved . This is more of a strange metallic effected reverb. Not at all a spring vibe. I’m hoping you will give me a refund , as this is not useful to me and not worth having going unused at $15 . Please help me out Eventide
