I grew up in MO There are many memories of SWMO and all it has to offer the Springfield NL does a great job of covering news local, state, and national. It keeps me informed of home.

if you like looking at the old style paper (and I do) this app is the one for you.  Easy to navigate and great for focusing in on a particular article.  I enjoy the easy of finding key sections and moving between different editions.

Love the paper but app is poor on the iPad.  When enlarging pages to read, many times print will not refocus.   So blurry sometimes not legible.

This is the only way to receive the newspaper. It is waiting for me each morning when I wake up. I don’t have to walk out to my driveway in bad weather to pick it up. It is easy to read a page at a time on my iPad and is cheaper to get instead of the printed edition. I have just talked my father-in-law into receiving his paper this way. You won’t be disappointed!

This is a great paper, very informative, and the app is a great tool for when you are on the road and unable to read it at home. Also it’s nice for us “ old folks “ who don’t see like they used to!!

I used to get the daily print paper but often it would sit for days without being read. So with this I can enjoy the paper and not feel like I am wasting money. I can look at archives if I don’t read the paper one day.  Win win

The Springfield News-Leader App is very functional and easy to use. I did not think I could easily transition to an electronic format, but have found this method of reading the daily news to be efficient and always available.

Since the last update to your digital paper I am very happy to find the app now works as it should. It was very annoying to open a page just to watch the text literally “fall off”the page.

Anyway, thanks for finally fixing that after a very long time of complaining about it. It is once again a pleasure to read the digital edition every morning over my coffee.

I have been reading the virtual paper for several years and it is generally pretty good. My only problem has been some instability in the content at some times. The text content will go blank, and I will have to refresh.  Also, if I swipe from right to left, it goes to a vertical strip, which requires that I refresh.

DO NOT waste your money on this.  It keeps closing, does not display half of the pages, etc. I’m sure that they have not updated this app in quite a while, even tried deleting it and reloading it but that does not work either. Guess I will cancel my subscription and save money.

Freezes, pages won’t focus, constantly insists no internet, must re-login every other day requires a device restart to clear errors and restart app.

App forces you to log in every day or two, won't remember your log in info like well written apps do.  I wouldn't use it if there were other ways to read paper, but since they are charging more for print version and forcing digital on us, guess it's this online or pay more or nothing.  One star is generous, rushed to users.

Update: its no better.  Avoid if you have a way to read the actual paper.

Love the print app but was very upset when travelling in France a few weeks ago and was re-directed to a European USA Today news site and nothing from News Leader.  I want to keep up with the news from home, I can get my world news from many other sites. 
Very disappointed.

I purchased a digital subscription to the Springfield News Leader. It never worked with any consistency. Most days I could not login. I finally became frustrated and sent an e-mail to cancel the subscription. I didn't receive a response and they continued to charge me. I sent a second cancellation request to a different e-mail address and received a reply asking me to send the original e-mail again. I did. No reply. I sent a followup e-mail. I received a reply stating they didn't receive my e-mail. I sent it again. I received a reply stating they couldn't issue any credits even though the app didn't work because I sent the cancellation to the wrong e-mail address but they would cancel my subscription that day. The following day they charged me for another month. Then a month later they refunded a small portion of the additional charge. Extremely poor customer service. Thankfully it's only $8 per month so I'm not out a lot of money but I certainly feel cheated...because I was! I would recommend not giving them access to charge anything automatically or you may be paying much more than you should for much longer than you should have to pay.

I LOVE my digital ipad version of the News Leader...I can't believe it, but I am reading the paper version less and less...BUT!!! There are so many times when the days edition is showing ready, but only gives a blank screen.  Sometimes the only way I can get it to work is to delete the app, then go back to the App Store and download it again.....grrrrr.....very frustrating.

I just want to pull up the News Leader and read it....I am having to wait to much, and work too hard.

Please fix the app....

I installed the NewsLeader app this morning. The print on the screen is out of focus, rendering the pages unreadable. I tried reinstalling app and rebooting phone to no avail. Will deinstalled immediately. Maybe this app works strictly for iPad devices.

Facebook login will not work. One would think they would have gotten this working before releasing the app, but that doesn't seem to be the case.  So, they have published a (thus far) useless app.
