## What is SprintTimer?

SprintTimer is a unique sports timer and photo finish app that employs the same techniques as the fully automatic timing equipment (FAT) used at the Olympics. Start the timer and point the camera towards the finish line. The app creates an image where you can scroll to get the time for each competitor with a 0.01 s accuracy*. SprintTimer also includes a motion/human-activated Video Finish for longer races and a Start Sender for wirelessly controlling SprintTimer from another device.

Should you choose to subscribe to SprintTimer Pro, the purchase will be charged to your Apple ID account. The subscription will be auto-renewed 24 hours prior to the end of the period. Unfortunately I’ve never had any luck getting it to work with Apple Watch. I followed all the instructions about setting the wake time to 70 seconds etc but when I self start with the watch it will always skip commands “on your marks” or “set” or both, and skip right to the starting gun sound. It’s totally random which commands it will skip, making the feature useless. I have tried with multiple watches and phones with the same result.

Die app ist leider 4Jahre alt und hat einige Fehler.
- airpods oder andere bluetooth adapter werden nicht erkannt
- manchmal wird die aufnahmehelligkeit falsch dargestellt, man erkennt nichts auf dem display
- auf -0db löst die app manchmal einfach nicht aus, egal, ob der schallpegel erreicht wurde
- nach jedem auslösen muss man zwingend ins hauptmenü zürück, sonst wird nicht ausgelöst, trotz validem schallsignal

This is not fully automatic timing and you should not be marketing it as such. Even the photos you are using as your examples are no where near the finish line. This is a joke and those that fall for it are nothing more then the jokers in a deck with no aces.

This is a great app, but I suggest a tweak which could make it even better. 

I suggest adding the record feature to include the start (actually just prior) along with a function to slide the start time to coincide with the initial movement of the runner.  

Currently, it’s either eyeballed or sound based, but either way determined by the operator’s finger tapping start. 

Post start, Operator would then rotate the camera to line up with the finish line. Once the sprint is completed, the sprint time differential would be calculated based on the adjusted beginning clock time when the runner began the start. 

What I love about this app is that it removes 50% of the variables by recording the end of the sprint. If you can similarly record the start as well, this would effectively replace many of the laser systems which are very expensive.

We use this for our home track meets. Started as the back up of the back up, then it became the back up, and now it is our main timing system and we use stopwatches as a back up. With a common start and such accuracy, I now cringe every time I see a team timing their meets with individual stopwatches. I have shared this with 3 other local schools who now use it at their meets as primary timing or a back up for their FAT system. No more scrambling to get high school kids or parents to time a meet!
