Was a cool app… ### 3/5 — Was great…until no longer able to export your art work *2021-07-06* Been using this app for indie 2D game art for 6 years! It has been great for what I use it for, HOWEVER the app does not appear to be updated anymore by its developer! Now you cannot export your art work at all anymore. The email export no longer works and the drop box export no longer works at least not with IOS 13 and newer which excludes anyone with I phone 8 and up! ### 4/5 — Great for knocking out 8 bit fonts *2020-01-21* Sprite Something is great for making fonts, each character occupying one frame of a sheet. It would be five stars if there was a modern export option, such as integration with Files. I couldn’t get the Dropbox integration to work, and email is clumsy, making it hard to get the sprites into other applications on an iOS device. Five stars for Files integration :) ### 4/5 — I hope to see an iPadOS 13 update *2019-10-24* This is still one of my favorite pixel art apps, I’d like to see an update for the latest iPadOS and iPad Pro screens. Sadly, the last update was 4 years ago, so I may have to look for alternatives. ### 2/5 — Needs update *2018-04-17, version 2.14* I Used to use this great app on my iPad for my game development as it has excellent features and very easy to use, I would have given it 5 stars but I have recently started using again after a long break and unfortunately it now crashes constantly and will no longer save to Dropbox. An app update would be very much appreciated if only to fix stability on newer iOS devices. ### 1/5 — Barely functioned on iOS 9, doesn't open on iOS10 *2016-10-05* This app makes me sad, when it worked it was the best pixel app on the market. Then in iOS 9, the tilemaps feature stopped working. Just installed iOS 10 and it won't open for more than a split second, then just stays in memory. I tried the support website, email and even twitter, the dev has never responded. It’s truly the BEST program to draw and animate 2D sprites for game development. Unfortunately, since the most recent iOS update - Sprite Something now has random freezes/crashes that completely wipe the progress you’ve made on a sprite. When these freezes/crashes don’t occur, it’s a fantastic program worth the asking price. I have been using Sprite Something for quite some time on my iPhone 11 Pro Max, and I don’t want to switch to another sprite creation app. Please, please — fix the issues plaguing this release! Was a great app at one time. ## Most praised reviews (10 highest-rated) ### 5/5 — Underrated no-frills pixel editor *2020-04-27* This app is not for people who want to play at painting with pixels, rather it has a decent (albeit clunky) toolset that you can use to make not just 8-bit sprites, but sprite atlases/sheets for active use in video game production. Perhaps it's biggest let-down is that it's not for the novice, so people with a passing interest in making pixel art may be put off but its no-frills interface. ### 5/5 — I LOVE IT SO THERE. *2018-07-29* For what it does it is a work of art. I hope the designer might come back and update. I have made some great stuff with this including a Bullet Bill knockoff and a couple of cartoon characters.
