However, it doesn’t feel complete. The daily missions can sometimes be horribly designed, and there are not enough main missions. The main missions are incredibly designed and very fun. There just isn’t enough. Sometimes the angles make absolutely no sense and you can aim left but start walking up. As another review said, it’s almost impossible to avoid obstacles as the angle constantly changes and affects your view. Would love some sort of on/off toggle for viewpoint controls, which would make it less motion sickness inducing! ### 3/5 — Cool *2021-09-12, version 2.5* It is an amazing game with a great concept but the controls with the camera are so bad it’s unplayable on some areas. I don’t know if it’s because I’m not using a controller but there are points which the direction the bot goes based on how you move your finger just completely changes. I was going through an area with a steam pipe and I had to hold my finger going down to go forward than I started going to the left and put my finger forward and started going to the right. Just awful camera also. I love the challenges but the time clock is way too short, I haven’t managed to complete any of them as Spyder is too hard to control within the time. But the problem for me is the camera, or when you look around. I can only play this game for like 10 minutes then I have to stop because of the camera motion, it just makes me want to vomit. A number of times the poor little thing got stuck or wouldn’t respond, but this did not affect overall enjoyment. It didn’t take long to rattle through the missions, so a few more would be great! Perhaps a little less guiding would increase the challenge. However the movement sometimes can be so frustrating it feel like sometimes it doesn’t even make sense! During the aircraft level getting through the engine bag with the spinning parts was so frustrating trying to get the movement right whilst upside down etc. All in all worth the download! **Developer response:** Hi Secrets-Ash. But the controls ruin the experience. Looking around is with 2 fingers. But they have to be next to each other. And moving is 1 finger on the screen. This makes it so you can’t play this game as if you had a controller. It gets uncomfortable after a while. Why not just add the most common way of left thumb on the screen is move, and right thumb is look??? Also, the camera moves around oddly when you are playing, so much so that it can be nauseating. Finally, when the camera automatically changes orientation, it drastically changes the direction you’re walking which is really frustrating right from the tutorial. If this gets changed or added as an option, then I will change my review ### 2/5 — Cute game, weird mechanics *2024-08-10* i love the concept of the game and i find it very entertaining, and the art style is absolutely adorable… but, i have 2 blaring issues. My main issue is the camera. i understand camera mechanics are finnicky in games like these but it is almost impossible to see certain levels and have been very stumped on levels because my vision was so limited. Going off that to my second problem, when i get stuck and theres absolutely no way to progress (from what i can see) im getting frustrated because i cant even find a playthrough for the level. a hint button would be an absolute life saver with the camera issue. i really like the waypoint so players know what the objective is, but sometimes its misleading/unhelpful because it doesnt help u find the way through the level. im currently stuck on the satellite, i need to get to a valve and have covered every inch of ground i could cover and still do not know where to go, im finding out everything needs to be very specific, yet i cannot find that one thing that helps me advance. fixing either or both of these features would be an IMMENSE help and make the experience more enjoyable. ### 2/5 — Good game bad controls *2024-07-04* Started playing it and really enjoyed the concept and graphics, however I stopped not farà into the game as the controls made it completely unplayable, should be easy to fix would love to see it improve. ### 2/5 — Charming Game with Disastrous Controls *2022-03-25* Trying to play this game has repeatedly left me frustrated as I try to wrestle against the controls. I understand the intent but the experience translates incredibly poorly to virtual joysticks on a touch screen. Died numerous times because the direction of travel changes depending on surface orientation in ways that are difficult to understand without the fidelity of a gamepad, or because the game suddenly decided to change to a different orientation without my input. Not since Silent Hill on PSX has a games controls gotten to much in it's own way and I'd prefer to play Silent Hill at this point. ### 2/5 — Great concept but… *2022-01-08* Love the 60s spy vibe, clever concept and beautiful art design, BUT, game mechanics are not awesome. The camera movement (POV) is unpredictable and not easily controllable to the point of feeling motion sick. Also, the controls are finicky and not always very intuitive (eg grasping/releasing objects). Changing directions while upside down and w/ moving POV, I would move the controller 90deg but the character would move 180 deg into the path of a moving engine part. After getting killed 3 times in a row I gave up. ### 2/5 — Graphics great controls rubbish on iPad Pro 2020 *2020-10-22* I was so nearly enjoying this. The story is fun, projects are about dexterity and learn as you go instructions but what spoiled the whole experience for me was the ridiculously buggy controls. Allegedly the left hand controls the spider moves and the right the visuals. Unfortunately the Spyder controls jam then get mixed up with the right hand visuals so you have no way knowing how to manoeuvre Spyder. This has the potential to be a fun game. The constant overriding of the camera direction means you suddenly and constantly are going in completely unintended directions. This is unhelpful in a game that requires you to navigate through environments. This should be on the top 5 best games of Arcade. I finished the game in one sitting, in under 6 hours. Love the graphics, music and gameplay. The only issue for me is there’s too few missions, the missions are too short and the game finished too quickly. I wasn’t satisfied enough. I hope you guys are working on an update which adds more missions and more content to the game. I’d also love to see some side missions. It’s really boring that other than the main missions there’s nothing left to do in the game. We’re paying a monthly subscription to this service and so it’s not worth it when we finish a game in just one day. I see that the developer have replied that they have forwarded the review, issues and ideas to the team but are you guys seriously taking these reviews into consideration? If so please let us know if you’re working on an update to add more content to the game or why there hasn’t been an update with more content. We neee more content that would keep us coming back to the game every day. I’m sure you wouldn’t expect us to just uninstall the game after we’ve finished it. It’s like that now, what else is there for us to do other than remove it when we’ve finished? Please let us know WHEN YOU WOULD ADD MORE LEVELS!!! Which is awesome! This is honestly a great game to play if you’re really bored, although, it should have some more levels, playing the same levels over and over again eventually get boring, a suggestion I have for a level would be for example, on a cruise ship, a cool thing you guys could add as a detail for spider is webs! It could be there from the tutorial level if you do end up adding it, or it could be introduced in a specific level and you get it for all the levels after that! I think that would be awesome, it’s a lot to ask for I know, I just think it would be nice if there were more levels and a new ability! I finally gave up and asked him if I could try. I’m really scared of spiders because I have arachnophobia, but the mech spider in this game is so adorable you can’t NOT want to hold it in your hands. I can see why he’s so addicted now. Spyder is a great game! The sound affects are so cute and the concept is great. Keep up the good work! In the sub mission in elc room you can turn the thing over the pipe and you can climb onto the pipe and get stuck. Also I want a multiplayer mode where 2 people work together or race for the end so it’s not boring when you have done everything. If you add this gamemode there should be a voteing for what map you want.
