The app is very unfriendly and takes 2-3 times as long to complete check ins and match reports as simple paper rosters. 1/2 the time the clubs can’t even figure out how to properly enter their own data. As referees we are not paid enough to have to spend an extra 30 minutes per game trying to get rosters checked and scored entered. If you are a league looking for software to manage rosters and match reports, look elsewhere. ### 1/5 — Horrific user experience *2025-04-03, version 1.1.4* This app is so poorly implemented that I am considering not officiating in any league that requires it. If you’re going to create the 137th separate app for managing participatory sports events, at least do *something* better than any one of the others. ### 1/5 — Worst app ever *2025-01-24, version 1.1.3* This is the worst app I’ve ever used. You constantly get locked out and have to have the administrator reset your TFA or password. And the website and app show you different things. It’s awful. The user experience is sub par at best. They should hire someone who has dealt with user interfaces for actual sports platforms. Thanks, WSA ## Most critical reviews (10 lowest-rated) ### 1/5 — Notifications not in the app *2026-05-11, version 1.2.0* I am getting notifications on my phone that seem contextually relevant for my team, but when I click on the notification, it opens the app but the notifications are no where to be found within the application. Last week, I got notifications from the assignor, just now I got one about “intent to travel”. But that is all I know because there is no information anywhere in the app about what those notifications meant. ### 1/5 — Worst sports scheduling app *2026-04-30, version 1.2.0* This is truly the least user friendly sports scheduling app available. It’s a complete embarrassment and shame on any organization using this for their leagues ### 1/5 — Abysmal app *2026-02-07, version 1.1.12* This app feels like it was made in 2010 by an orangutan that did not know how to use a computer. ### 1/5 — Awful *2025-11-14, version 1.1.9* Very few things work. I am able to upload my game roster, but never see the other team. Schedule is never updated or correct. Can’t believe this is what National League chooses to work with. ### 1/5 — Not working *2025-11-05, version 1.1.9* My son is a ref, it did not give him the option of signing as one though. He has to accept jobs through the app, so he is losing money as it only lets him show up as a player. ### 1/5 — Was excited about this app…until I used it…my dreams are crushed *2025-09-06, version 1.1.8* First, all support link in the Apple Store gives a 404 Not Found Error. I tried that before writing a review within the first 5 minutes of downloading the app because I’d rather get support and FIX the problem but apparently we aren’t like-minded in that goal. When I click “follow a team or league”, it appears I have the option to input a search, but if I click to search bar to enter my query, it goes to the next screen as though I hit Done. The next screen says “please enter a minimum of 3 characters to search”. Bruh, I tried to 🤷🏼‍♀️ I then tried to set up a profile instead. I’m trying to add my picture and I selected the one picture I want to give the app access to because I don’t want it to have access to all pictures. That’s a COMMON setting. Now it only gives me the option to either go to my settings and update (presumably to allow all) or take a photo. Now I’m really questioning if this app will work at all before I even have an account set up. Not professional or useful; Not competently designed. I would literally rather have NO APP or fewer features than to have one that I have to tell players’ parents we are using this nonsense, knowing good and well that the user experience is garbage. Youth sports interfacing should be seamless for parents - this could literally be the tipping point for some parents to quit or enroll somewhere that doesn’t use Squadi, so why throw this garbage at them? ### 1/5 — Not User Friendly *2025-08-30, version 1.1.7* When managing two teams, there is no way to view just one team’s matches that need scheduled/approved (tasks). The Team filter option just gives you the ability to filter “Home” and “Away” matches…not actual teams as the heading “Teams” would imply. Cannot easily toggle between my two teams. When a notification is given regarding another team’s comment, it doesn’t automatically take you to that comment when clicking on the notification. All 20 teams show up and I have to scroll through them all. Time stamps in the comments are not correct. When clicking on “My Team” and then selecting 1 of my 2 teams, it doesn’t take me to just that team’s Dashboard. Instead, I only have the option to view Registrations or Stats. From there, it’s not just registrations for the 1 team I selected; instead I see both of my players (on different teams). When clicking on “App Support” in the App Store, I get a “404 File Not Found” message. Not a good sign from a tech company. Much to desire. ### 1/5 — What and why? *2025-08-30, version 1.1.7* I have to use this platform for managing an NL team. Both the web version and the app are lacking, notification emails they send to the team don’t link to the right place or anywhere at all, and anything that isn’t working can be found in bad reviews from a year ago where the devs respond and promise to fix it. Not sure why the USYS decided to use this low-effort platform. ### 1/5 — Terrible app *2025-08-24, version 1.1.6* I keep getting emails to join referee leagues in this app but when I open the app, there is nothing in there. The functionality of the platform is awful and not user friendly at all. The time block system is terrible as well and not easy to use. ### 1/5 — Horrible *2025-07-22, version 1.1.6* Terrible. Thank you. ### 3/5 — Very Annoying To Set Availability *2025-10-14, version 1.1.9* The app is getting better, I can definitely say that. With the new update being able to see the pay of the game is very nice. Now all we need is a new way to set availability! Please fix this it is the worst thing ever!!!😡 Setting availability is very annoying and a very tedious process, once I finish it if I accidentally touch the blocks or if I swipe to leave the app all my progress gets changed😭 it makes me very mad and sometimes I do not see that and my assigner starts giving me games that I thought I said I can not do. Please fix this!!! ### 2/5 — Very annoying *2025-03-15* As a ref I always love when an app is so simple to set your availability, but this app is so annoying when I try to. I finish setting my availability but then when I swipe up to close the app it changes all the times, which makes me very annoyed because I have to go back in and do it again. Thanks, WSA ### 2/5 — Potential *2024-09-16, version 1.1.0* Love the idea, hoping with time the execution pays off. To start I should say I’m a coach and a parent of players. I like the app as a coach although the mobile features are pretty lacking. All the detail work needs to be done on a desktop using their website and it is not intuitive. It has some benefits for scheduling and the detail in regards to player stats, etc. is pretty solid. It is frustrating that you cannot see the schedules of your opponents or their results within your division or league. That would be pretty helpful. You can infer in from points and goal differential but it doesn’t seem like it’d be a difficult integration. As a parent of a player on a team other than the one I coach whose team also uses squads, it’s next to impossible to figure out how to follow his team and team stats. It is not intuitive and the menus are so limited. I’d love to see this app take some notes fe TeamSnap.
