Square Farm
Great little game, really like the puzzle farming. Wish one of the three fishing areas was something different. Purchased the horse and barn just to see it on my farm, very cute. Can definitely see the game being expanded but is fun as is.
Error in the shop, but awesome otherwise!

I actually saw this on Mini Review initially and had to give it a shot. I’ve said before that I love farm sims like Stardew Valley, so this caught my eye. The pixel style is very reminiscent of SV, there are relationships to grow, fish to catch, and plants to grow, too!
I’ve been playing a little over an hour and absolutely love this. Both farming and fishing are puzzles-
*Farming gives you Tetris like blocks of seeds to place on a square board. Vertical and horizontal coverage, as well as 3x3 squares, will harvest the crops within those areas.
*Fishing is also on a square grid, but instead of blocks, you have your bobber, and there are four fish to catch in the grid. You start by choosing a block on the grid and placing your bobber. Each empty square does damage to your line, but if you find a fish, you need to figure out which pattern they’re swimming in to catch them. At the top of the grid, you see several types of swim patterns. In order to catch your fish, you will need to continue placing your bobber in one of those patterns. Once you uncover the pattern, the fish is yours! This one gets difficult pretty quickly, but you can upgrade your rod and bobber as you go to help out.
There are upgrades to make to your farm such as repairing your fence and house, and you get money for these by selling your crops at your shipping bin or by using them for requests from the request board. You do have energy each day that can be used farming or fishing, and you do have to sleep at the end of your day. There are also seasons and the timing is much like Stardew, progressing after you go to sleep each night. There’s also a small map with different areas to visit where you can find different shops and people to talk to.
Seems like this was released previously as a paid game, then pulled and recently re-released as free with IAP. I can’t speak to the IAPs right now as they show no price in the app and “no internet connection” if you tap on one of them. Unsure what this is about, I would gladly pay for the ad removal. There aren’t too many, over the course of an hour I had two ten second ads.
So far, so good. My only complaint so far is the shop being wonky with the error message and not being able to purchase. Aside from that, this is super cute and a nice way to relax. Looking forward to seeing what else comes in the future!
