### 5/5 — Excelente e impecável!!

*2021-10-09, version 1.9.3*

### 5/5 — Amazing App!

*2021-10-08, version 1.9.3*

This App has helped me so much. I had little confidence when I first started singing Propers but after singing along with Square Note on my headphones has made things so easy. Highly recommended!

### 5/5 — Best app for people that want to learn Gregorian chant

*2021-08-13*

This app is the best if you want to learn Gregorian chant but you don’t have a car or stay inside so download this :D

### 5/5 — Fabulous App

*2021-03-23*

Thank you Fathers Matthew and Stephen Spencer for developing this fabulous app. I’m new to Gregorian chant and this is just what the doctor ordered. Love it!

### 5/5 — Amazing

*2020-12-05, version 1.9.3*

The app is perfect! Please could you also add the different tones of the Te Lucis hymn to sing compline? Thank you

### 5/5 — Best Way to practice chanting!

*2020-11-27*

This app has become an indispensable tool when trying to learn different propers for the mass. The one thing i would love to see included in the future are parts of the Divine office. Maybe start with compline! Thank you for making such a great app at a very affordable price.

### 5/5 — It’s really good!

*2020-11-10, version 1.9.3*

Helps you to learn chants. Lots of fun

### 5/5 — Incredible app

*2020-10-29*

This app is a real life saver for less musically inclined people. It lays everything out clear as day. You can start from anywhere in the piece, and control how fast it plays. Very well thought out.

### 5/5 — Playback fixed for iOS 14

*2020-10-12, version 1.9*

Great app, and now back to normal!

### 5/5 — Playback bug

*2020-09-19, version 1.6*

Very good app, but playback won’t work anymore after iOS 14 update

### 5/5 — Bravo

*2020-08-23, version 1.6*

Excellente application

### 5/5 — Insert the EXULTET

*2020-05-15, version 1.6*

### 5/5 — Thanks so much to the creators of this app

*2020-02-23, version 1.6*

Absolutely splendid, thanks to all involved. An absolute treasury of musical and liturgical riches.

### 5/5 — Some notation

*2020-01-19*

Watch out if you want this as a backup for your Liber. It doesn’t have punctums or scalici.

## Most critical reviews (10 lowest-rated)

### 1/5 — Thought it was a sung chant. Disappointed!

*2017-04-30, version 1.0.1*

Thought it would be a sung chant!

### 3/5 — How do I play the chants on my iPhone? So I can give a 5 review

*2025-03-25*

Can't get music to play

### 3/5 — Great app, chant tone is grating

*2017-04-09, version 1.0.1*

I love this app!

But one thing in the latest version makes it difficult to use. The tone used for the chant is very smooth and velvety... it sounds like crystal glass being rubbed. High quality but I find that its overtones cause significant distortion when played on my new Air Pod earphones. Even at 50% volume there is buzzing in the notes, and I am afraid it will destroy my AirPods. Please provide a choice of different types of chant tones.

### 3/5 — Looks great, could sound better.

*2017-04-03, version 1.0*

The chanting sound isn't so great. It's very quiet, a little distorted when changing pitches, and has limited range when transposing. Having alternate sounds, and the ability to transpose into other octaves would be helpful. Other than that, it looks beautiful.

### 4/5 — Chant tones for psalms ?

*2025-02-26*

Love this app, wondering if it’s possible to include the psalm tones for singing the psalms? I love to sing the liturgy of the hours and would love to have a simple resource for learning the tones. Thank you!

### 4/5 — Presque parfaite

*2023-07-23, version 1.9.3*

Super app, ergonomique et belle mais c'est dommage que certains chants manquent et, surtout, qu'aucune ponctuation ne soit marquée sur les notes !

### 4/5 — Great, but missing a whole season???

*2022-02-18*

I love this app! It’s so useful for someone like me who needs the practice and sometimes is without my Liber and a cantor to direct the pitch. I love the simple chants additions as well!
However, the whole Epiphany season is missing? The 4-6 Sundays following Epiphany, and the three Sundays leading up to Ash Wednesday are absent. Not sure why, but it’s happened before that something is missing or out of order compared to my Liber Brevoir. That aside, the app is fantastic.

### 4/5 — Idéal pour le grégorien

*2020-11-30, version 1.9.3*

Très bonne application qui permet d’avoir les mélodies des pièces grégoriennes pour la messe et permet également d’avoir les partitions pour mise en page de livrets.

Désir : les antiennes des Vêpres.

### 4/5 — Good but we want more!

*2020-01-01*

This app is great for what it has, and that’s a lot already!
It needs (in my opinion) more content such as chants from the breviary (Roman Breviary hymns, etc.). There are no apps out there now (that I know of) that have the Breviary Hymns in chant notation with such a smooth playback feature as that in this app.
Keep up the good work.

### 4/5 — Mass XVIIII and Feast of All Saints

*2019-10-21*

Thank you for the app.
I purchased it expecting to find all Mass 19 material and the Feast of All Saints Introit, Gradual, Alleluia, Offertory, Communion. But none are on there.
Could we please have them added?
Thank you,
B

## Most praised reviews (10 highest-rated)

### 5/5 — Absolutely great!

*2026-02-02, version 1.9.3*

It is great to sing along at the TLM. If there were ever to be an update, and we have no right to it being free, it would be to have a liturgical calendar on the 1962 missal in order to very easily pick the propers of the day. It could even show it. But that’s just if any suggestions were to be taken. The app is already as good as it has any right to be being free. Thank you very much to the developer for this!

### 5/5 — Brilliant

*2025-12-03, version 1.9.3*

Absolutely brilliant tool for the study of Gregorian chant

### 5/5 — Excellente application

*2025-07-01, version 1.9.3*

Permet d’apprendre et de réviser avec du matériel léger. Très agréable à l’utilisation. Bravo !

### 5/5 — Excellent app

*2025-05-15*

Only request, can you add the traditional nuptial propers (deus Israel)

### 5/5 — Perfect for Choir Singers!

*2025-02-16*

This has been a priceless tool in my time with choirs! It is chock full of everything you need to practice/study and more! I have been using it for years, and hope to continue to do so.

### 5/5 — Amazing!!

*2024-12-06, version 1.9.3*

Simply amazing, thank you so much!

### 5/5 — User friendly

*2024-01-19, version 1.9.3*

The app is beautifully laid out. Highly user friendly, it’s easy to figure out what the main controls are. As another user mentioned, would love to see an expanded library with the common chants of the Divine Office included.

May God bless this holy work!

### 5/5 — Fantastic app!

*2022-11-08, version 1.9.3*

The best in its category, from far!!!

### 5/5 — Very Helpful Resource

*2022-11-07, version 1.9.3*

It would be great if there were also some chants for the Divine office as well as simple chant tones such as for the Gospel canticles.

### 5/5 — A hidden gem

*2022-03-23*

I discovered this app by Providence. I’m a cradle Catholic who has always been drawn to Gregorian chant. I just started attending Latin Mass and wanted a resource to help me learn how to chant to supplement my prayer life. This app has been extremely helpful in this capacity.
The Interface is clean, simple and intuitive. Using the app on an iPhone 13 Pro Max.
