BUT, the app crashes before one page is read! Very frustrating for me and my 4 year old.. Thankfully she has more forgiveness than me, she just keeps trying over and over again despite me telling her to play another game. All 3 do the same thing, boots to a gray screen then shuts down! ### 1/5 — App doesn’t work *2021-05-22, version 3.0* I have the most updated iPhone and the app won’t even stay open. It opens to a gray screen and closes down. What a waste. ### 1/5 — Missing stars and codes *2021-04-06, version 2.6* We use the Square Tales books and there are a number of stars listed under some of the practice sections that do not show up when working through the app. This causes the book to not be “finished” even though we’ve done everything available. I’ve attached a screenshot of the stars page showing the empty star. When I tap on the specific word, it just goes to the next word in line and doesn’t show the missing word. We also just started on set 5 and there are no QR codes in the back of the book. Now it doesn’t load properly and we can’t see anything. The background is colored but everything in front is black. He is advanced beyond the first set, so I asked that they send the remaining sets sooner so that we could monopolize on his interest in the program right now. They refused, so the only option I feel like I have is to cancel, because he will be way too far advanced in another two months, five months, and eight months. We are sad. ### 1/5 — App Crashes *2020-10-10, version 2.5.1* All of the applications crash. I want my kid to be able to play, but a few clicks into any games and it takes him back to the start menu. I was excited and willing to pay for the full games, but I wouldn’t waste my money knowing the free versions don’t work. I want my money back for the wasted cost of the letter board and letter set. I’m m highly disappointed. ### 1/5 — All apps not showing *2020-09-28, version 2.5.1* I have two android tablets for each of my kiddos, and one tablet all the games show, but on the other tablet they don’t, there is no difference in the tablets other than the size. Now you can only download this one main app and then pay for each app that used to be free. The apps my kids are used to playing already. My kids love that part. I already paid a ton for the play set which is worthless now unless I pay for all the apps again. The sheer greed is absolutely unacceptable. This seems illegal. The new update looks amazing! With new mini games, graphics, and everything it’s so exciting to see and play. ### 5/5 — Lots of fun with letter learning *2021-05-03, version 3.0* I’ve been using this app for 3 months now. My 8 year old enjoys playing the games, and his letter sound confidence has grown tremendously because of it. He has been more willing to read aloud in class because of his new confidence. But its the 3 year old who asks to play! He knows to follow the star, and try the letters that come up in each game. He can name all 26 now, and almost half of the sounds he can recognize. The playset is a huge hit with him as well. This app is one I happily let my children use their ‘screen time’ for. ### 5/5 — My 4 Year Old Loves It *2021-05-03, version 3.0* My son loves it and it is better than other options with annoying music or non-educational games. I have not had the crash issues. I’ve seen others say the app crashes with every game, but I assume their new update fixed it all. I was able to play multiple games with no issues. The learning device also works with your phone, not just a tablet, but my phone got extremely hot and the battery was drained very quickly. So this app and play set really help him and he enjoys it. I gave it a 3 because there are a few things that could make it better. 1 if all the games were in the same app not 11 different apps makes switching games not a smooth as it could be. 2 I can’t get his name to come up in the lagoon even though I’ve add it to his word list. 3 sometimes the apps are glitchy and not smooth he gets frustrated sometimes.
