I have managed to forget my password to change the spellings, and despite emailing (as per the instructions) and messaging on social media there has been no response. Very frustrating. Since the original review I’ve tried emailing again and sending a message by Facebook, still with no response. Are there any other ways of getting in contact with you? I've triple-checked and we haven't received an e-mail from you. Are you certain you're messaging info@keystagefun.co.uk? Every message to that address gets an immediate autoresponder that includes the override passcode, so you should have received that if you sent us an e-mail (worth checking your junk folder if you have one). We always aim to respond within 24 hours to all messages, so this is not usual for us. We've checked Facebook and replied to what may be your message (hard to tell as we don't know your name) with the override code. If that wasn't you, then please message us on @keystagefun on X (formerly Twitter) or Instagram. We are a lot more active on those platforms that Facebook, so it's likely we'd see a message sooner. Ian, KeyStageFun. ### 4/5 — Doesn’t work with iPad magic keyboard *2021-11-07* We’ve used Squeebles Spelling for a long time and it has been brilliant helping my sons learning to spell - I do recommend it. However, I’m really frustrated to have got a magic keyboard to allow my dyslexic son to get the benefit of developing muscle memory, typing while spelling, only to find the app doesn’t support the keyboard. Please Squeebles, could you sort this out?! Being dyslexic too I found touch typing allows me to think in whole words while my fingers know the patterns - I don’t have to concentrate on spelling in the same way you do when writing by hand. Often repeated keystrokes - so words or syllables - become automatic. It’s a game changer for many dyslexic people - and Squeebles Spelling could be just that little bit better at supporting us. Thank you! ### 4/5 — Best spelling app I have found *2019-04-30* This app is the best one I have found so far. I love the way you can record your own spelling lists as we have found other apps are difficult to work out what custom words are saying. I also love how it puts incorrect spellings into a new list to practice and it allows various settings for what happens if they get it correct. Simple, easy to use, interactive. I have downloaded eight different spelling apps - all four stars +. However, this is the best one I have found for my son. She gets 100% on almost all of her tests. ### 5/5 — Awesome *2015-04-30, version 3.8* This app is great for young kids and shows them how to spell and pronounce. I think that this is great for all ages. And you can personalize with your voice. I like how you can record your own voice to say the spelling words to your child. You also get rewards when you get them right or so many in a row. It will not record the words regardless of microphone privacy being enabled. Waste of money. ### 1/5 — Small but huge design fault *2021-09-29* Great app for spelling but … putting the delete button next to the submit button has caused tantrums beyond measure. We’ve submitted so many wrong words whilst trying to edit!! **Developer response:** Hi. Thanks for taking the time to send a review and sorry to hear your child has found aspects of the keyboard layout frustrating. The in-app keyboard deliberately mimics the layout of other, built in keyboards and hardware keyboards, where the delete or backspace button is directly above the enter button. It's not something we've had anyone else get in touch to mention, which means I'm afraid it's unlikely to be something we'd change at this stage, as that would involve making the layout different from other keyboards. Doing that has its own set of issues in terms of consistency and children learning how to use a keyboard. All I can recommend is encouraging your child to take their time when pressing delete. Thanks, Ian, KeyStageFun. ### 1/5 — Crashes *2020-11-20* Latest update crashes on iOS 9.3.5 Splash screen appears then immediately closes. **Developer response:** We were aware of an issue on some much older versions of iOS. This has now been fixed and you should be able to download version 7.6 from the App Store. Obviously if you have a moment to update your review to reflect the app and how you have found it, now the issue is resolved, that would be hugely appreciated. Thanks. ### 1/5 — Bad bad keyboard *2019-11-21* Always messes up annoying annoying ### 1/5 — Microphone doesn’t work *2019-09-20* Can’t get the microphone to work, even after re-down loading the app multiple times and hard starting the phone ect. **Developer response:** Hi. Have you allowed the app access to the microphone via your device’s privacy settings? If not the recording functionality will be blocked. This is standard for all iOS apps. Go to Settings > Privacy > Microphone and make sure SqueeblesSP is set to the ON position. That should solve it, but if any more problems, please email info@keystagefun.co.uk Thanks Ian ### 2/5 — Crashes all the time *2023-09-19* I have given up on this app now, it’s consistently crashes on my son. He’s doing really hard spellings and then it crashes so no score anything recorded. It makes doing homework so much harder. **Developer response:** Hi. We're really sorry to hear about this. It's not something we've been able to replicate though (and we've tested extensively on lots of different devices). Many thanks. Ian, KeyStageFun. ### 2/5 — It freezes *2023-09-09* The app and idea is great but the ‘rewards’ of getting a boomerang to play with keeps freezing which is frustrating. A few glitches too like the boomerang score sits on top of every screen meaning you can not clearly see the writing on some pages. I’ve recorded them over again, tried to close the app and restart but nothing is working. It usually plays the first word or two then goes silent. Disappointing because it was really helping my son. ### 3/5 — Worked great until Nov 2020 update *2020-11-19, version 7.5* This was a wonderful app that helped so much with learning custom spelling tests in a fun way. Unfortunately, now the app won't even open. I will have to try and find a replacement app. **Developer response:** Hi there. We’re guessing you’re running iOS 9? If so, we’re aware of an issue affecting older devices running iOS 9. Basically my 6 yo daughter comes home with spellings on a Monday for a test on Friday. You can guarantee by Tuesday they have vanished, been ‘misplaced’ and then there’s some sort of drama about replacing them etc etc Since purchasing this app I’ve had ZERO problems! She comes in with the spellings on a Monday. I put them into the iPad via the app, hey presto she somehow doesn’t ‘misplace’ the iPad all week and I enforce a practice test daily. Result is my stress level has reduced massively & her spelling result has improved dramatically! Wins all round. Would 100% recommend to any UK parent. There’s no American spelling/voice over nonsense. Plus you can download random tests from various key stages to further reinforce learning. Swapping home made spelling tests between devices is easy. ### 5/5 — Brilliant! *2017-11-05* This is working really well with my very reluctant to write 11 year old, who loves to earn rewards. He will actually practice his spelling on this app. It's easy to add the word he needs to learn and enables me to track progress and focus him on the word he needs to go over again. It's really taking the pressure off and means I'm not nagging him to practice. Just a bit concerned what I'll do when he has all the squeebles.
