### 4/5 — Please add DNF section!!

*2024-09-10, version 2.3.1*

I love this app, but I wish there was a 4th section for books not finished (ones I never plan on finishing). I still like to know that I already tried to read a book even if I don’t ever plan on finishing it. Right now, those books are in my “Reading” column, which is getting fuller than I’d like. PLEASE ADD A “DNF” SECTION! *insert pleading gesture*

### 3/5 — Love the UI, but….

*2023-06-12*

I use Goodreads on a regular basis, but have been wanting to switch to a new app. I tried using this app, but it doesn’t have all the books I read and there’s no way to manually add books. So, I can’t use this app if I can’t catalog all of my books.

### 4/5 — My favorite app, but wish there was an Android version.

*2021-01-08, version 2.3.1*

This is by far my favorite app. It crashes some times, but I don’t mind that. I wish there was an Android version for my friends who aren’t iPhone users. I recommend this app to a lot of friends!

### 4/5 — Simple & easy but...

*2020-10-20, version 2.3.1*

It’s a great app with a simplistic design that fulfills it’s main purpose!!

However, there is some room for improvements:

- it would be great if there was a function to customize the order of your books rather than just (Date added, Author, Title)

- there’s no tracking system for how far into each book you’re reading but that’s not necessarily a dealbreaker for me

- it would be a huge help to be able to link the app with my apple account so that I can transfer the same books to different devices and make sure that I don’t suddenly lose everything

Also just as a tip for new users, finding books can be a bit finicky sometimes. So you may have to go by the authors name rather than the book title or even type out the book title letter by letter to see if it shows up.

Best of luck!!
Xoxo

### 3/5 — Pretty good but a few glitches

*2019-11-02, version 2.3.1*

I like this app because it helps me keep a TBR list that I don’t have to share on social media like with Goodreads. The only problem is sometimes it unexpectedly quits.

### 4/5 — Sync to other devices

*2019-10-27, version 2.3.1*

This is by far my favourite reading list app and I’ve been using it for years, it’s perfect in every way except that there’s no way for me to sync the list I’ve been adding to for years to my new phone. I’m going to have to start anew which is sad. Please sync it to iCloud or an online account!

### 4/5 — Simply great...

*2018-08-28, version 2.2*

The layout and appearance is simple clean minimalist... This is what I absolutely love about the app!

There are no ads whatsoever and it is free!

It lacks features which I would love to see in a future pro version perhaps: (I would be happy to pay for these options)
- an option to add the date when a book was read (and/or purchased)
- an option to add if you own the book (and in which format digital or physical)
- an option to backup to iCloud

### 5/5 — East to use

*2018-06-30, version 2.2*

So easy to keep up with my books now.

### 5/5 — Really smooth and great tool.

*2018-05-09, version 2.1.2*

Love this app. As someone trying to read more this is great for keeping track or what I’m reading but also what I want to read.
Thank you for this.

One suggestion is also adding a number counter to the top of the ‘read’ list. As someone trying to achieve certain reading goals this would be amazing as I fill up the list going forward.

Keep up the amazing work.

### 5/5 — Doesn’t have a good selection

*2018-01-07, version 2.1*

I wanted to add several books but the selection is very small. Wish I could just type the names in but won’t let you - it HAS to be a book they have in their catalog.

### 3/5 — Please fix

*2017-06-24, version 2.0*

The app is great when the search bar works, but without it, the app is pointless because you can't add any books to your lists/shelves. Please fix asap

### 3/5 — Looks cool but doesn't connect to Goodreads

*2017-02-24, version 2.0*

Can't connect it to goodreads Looks really cool but don't want to start importing all my books in from zero

## Most critical reviews (10 lowest-rated)

### 1/5 — RIP - Crashes Out All the Time

*2025-06-23, version 2.3.1*

Maintenance on this app is non existent which is sad because I loved the idea of what this was meant to be. It was done before Margins and Fable so really gave you an easier way to track reading if you didn’t want Goodreads.

But the glitching is so bad I just sadly decided I have to give up adding to the app anymore. Any addition to the lists crashes the app. It had a long run but it just isn’t there for enanymore.

### 1/5 — More features please?

*2019-01-16, version 2.2*

People are looking for standard book management features not just adding want read books and ones you’ve completed. Please add what page you’re on, reminders, achievements etc. Thank you and I will use the app when these types of features are added. Overall gorgeous design but 1 star because of this.

### 1/5 — I would really like to use this app but...

*2017-09-20, version 2.0*

I know that you haven’t updated the app in a year and I don’t know if you will be updating the app at all, but I really want to use it!

Every time I try to connect my goodreads account or even try to import the books it will bring up the goodreads app, but the page for authentication will be blank. At the very beginning of the setup it gave me an access page, but when I gave access nothing would happen. Since then I have not been able to get to that page.

This is a long shot for me to see if you would be willing to update the app for this bug in ios11, however I thought I would give it a try to see if you guys respond.

### 1/5 — Good Concept but...

*2014-05-22, version 1.0.2*

I was able to scan a few books in. Not all the books in it's catalog show the cover. And worse yet, the name does not appear under the book icon. So I have many books that have a default green icon with no name and no easy way to tell what book it is. It has no discernable way of organizing on the shelf (by author or genre). No easy way to move to another shelf (I know you can do so by downloading another app). Also, I have a lot of books that do not have barcodes and do not even appear in it's catalog. I would also like to view the shelves by title instead of cover.
Keep working on it. Thanks,

### 2/5 — Scanning

*2025-04-24, version 2.3.1*

Having difficulty scanning the ISBN code on both iPad and iPhone. Won’t work.

### 2/5 — Unable to add new books

*2020-07-17, version 2.3.1*

Having been extremely happy with this app for a good few years I have now found that I am unable to add the last three books that I have read. Is this app no longer being updated?

### 2/5 — Easy to use; only basic functions

*2019-05-20, version 2.2*

Easy to add it update titles from list to reading to completed. Scanner works great for adding new titles by barcode with phone camera.

Crashes a lot. No search function. No warning about adding an existing title twice. No sorting by title author or genre.

### 2/5 — Search function stinks

*2018-03-25, version 2.1.2*

The search function stinks. I type in a title and it doesn’t bring up some books. I’m forced to type in the ISBN number. Also, you can’t see a number value for how many books are on your lists.

### 2/5 — unfortunate

*2018-01-23, version 2.1.1*

i love this app so much, and i went their the trouble of logging every book i read for awhile. it was great! having everything right at my fingertips- until i got a new phone. theres no accounts, and theres no way to transfer data. i lost it all.

### 2/5 — Is great when it works except it doesn't work most of the time

*2015-08-10, version 1.0.3*

This is honestly one of the best bookshelf apps I've ever found. To be more precise, its potential is limitless. I love the physical look of a book being on my list, on my reading list, and being able move it to my finished books list.

That said, the search feature does NOT work. It worked a few times and the just does not search no matter how many times I close the app and re-open it. If I can't add books to my list then there is absolutely no point in continuing to use it, hence my two stars.

I am super disappointed. I really loved the simple interface and the whole simplicity of the tool. BUT IT DOES NOT PERFORM ITS SELLING POINT WHICH IS TO ALLOW PEOPLE TO ADD BOOKS TO LISTS.

## Most praised reviews (10 highest-rated)

### 5/5 — The best I’ve found

*2023-09-28, version 2.3.1*

This is the simplest, most intuitive reading list app I have come across. I’ve tried a lot of them, and this does exactly what I need it to do. I know it’s not been updated in years, so I’m hoping being the developers haven’t abandoned it!

### 5/5 — Amazing!

*2020-07-11, version 2.3.1*

I have been looking for an app that could recognize books in languages other than english! Very useful and easy to use!

### 5/5 — Very useful; great functionality; clean interface.

*2020-05-01, version 2.3.1*

What I like about this app is the seamless functionality and the straightforward interface. It has been such a great time favorable tool, saving so much of our time that would have otherwise been spent, tediously documenting annual reading lists for school age children, to present to a teacher/evaluator for their education. In so doing this app has helped reserve more time for reading!

In my opinion, it could only be better if there was an option for creating folders, as someone mentioned before me, with the same interface design that is already in place, so that we could catalogue the literature being read by more than one individual at a time. And also, if there was the capability to send the list to someone, so that it would accommodate our needs in an even more expedient manner.

To get around these two obstacles, we create a list for one child at a time, in sections of books they have read lately, scan the books in, or search for them - it is so quick - then take screenshots of the list to have it on hand, before deleting and generating a new list.

### 5/5 — Love this app

*2019-10-15, version 2.3.1*

Great app! I love how I can track what I have read, what I’m reading and what I want to read. The book jacket is displayed, along with a summary of the book.

### 5/5 — I like it but one thing

*2019-04-21, version 2.2*

I like the app it does what I’d like it to I just wish I could organize it in order. So then the series can be 1-5 and not all over the place.

### 5/5 — Suggestion

*2019-02-11, version 2.2*

Love the app! Would be great if it would upload to Goodreads.

### 5/5 — Clean and elegant

*2018-11-30, version 2.2*

Just downloaded the app a couple of days ago and it’s a massive improvement to the notes list I had. Love the app and it’s design.

The only thing I’d say is I wish there was a feature to share my list/s

Apart from that I’m really glad I stumbled upon this app!

### 5/5 — After many research, I found the right app

*2018-10-23, version 2.2*

À superb simple app, wait more efficient than many of the kind on the store. The search for books is easy and efficient. I’m sure the dev will take car of this little smart app.

### 5/5 — Customized Folders?

*2018-07-14, version 2.2*

I love this app! It has a clean design and I haven’t had any issues with it in the last year. The ability to add books into customized folders would be awesome though!

### 5/5 — Simplistic and Easy to Use

*2018-07-12, version 2.2*

This app is the easiest app I’ve owned for keeping track of what I have read. It’s clean, simple, and easy. I love it
