STAELLA does offer a free trial so you can explore the app before committing, but I understand the subscription model isn't for everyone. No. 1-time Fee? Yes. *2026-01-31, version 3.0.1* Not too long ago, developers presented games, apps, and utilities where you paid .99¢ to $4.99 to get a feature rich product with no add-ons. Sadly, all contemporary developers act like they are MS or Adobe in that their simple app is worthy of an obnoxious yearly subscription fee. $45 a year is ridiculous for a visualizer app. I’m not interested how much $$ was put into it, how many features were added onto the base model, or how many hours it took to develop. I’d gladly pay a reasonable 1-time fee of $9.99 for the full app or $1.99 with the option to purchase add-ons, a la carte. But an annual subscription for basically a passive app? No. And it’s not just Staella, it’s all of them. Einen anderen Mehrwert bietet diese App nicht. Und ein Testzeitraum von 3 Tage ist wirklich gnädig. Da kann ich alle Funktionen in Ruhe testen (so ein Quatsch). Einfach nur eine Frechheit. Ich wäre ja bereit, 60 € einmalig zu bezahlen, aber doch nicht jedes Jahr. Ce qui manque selon moi, c’est d’etre limité à l’importation d’une seule image fixe en arrière plan. Ce serait top si l’on pouvait insérer une vidéo ou un diaporama d’images en arrière plan. Le top du top que je recherche serait que le son vienne modifier aussi l’image ou la vidéo d’arriere plan, et ce serait parfait. Il manque également une timeline pour choisir des moments précis lors de l’écoute de fichiers audio. Audio in the new version is super muffled, and I can’t figure out why. EQ doesn’t help. The app is no longer intuitive. It’s nice that since I made purchases (first two packs) I have access to the new visualizer pack, but the audio issues make this unusable. Also, the intro screen where you pick a genre and a style is an odd addition. Before the update I was starting to run out or get bored with the visuals but with this update we have more visuals and combos and extra features! My only issue I noticed is that when I edit some of the effects there’s no way to bring it back to default unless I reinstall the app. Other than that this is a really great app! **Developer response:** Thank you so much - I'm really glad the new visuals, combos, and extra features are keeping things fresh for you! My wife became Queen of Westerreich, each of my children now owns a castle, a villa in Emmen Bernley, and even the butler was rewarded with his own yacht.
