### 5/5 — The solution!!!

*2026-07-17*

I’ve been using this app since the first ones came out, sometimes as a soloist, duo, three or full band, still learning it, can’t figure out how to have my tracks and not on my iPad to free up space but still the best app I’ve used!!

### 5/5 — Made my Life Easier

*2026-06-27*

Thank you Peter for creating this app It made my life so much easier. Love using my iPad as well as my Laptop to control the stems and scrolling Lyrics.

### 5/5 — Thoughts on StageTraxx4

*2026-06-26*

I had been using StageTraxx3 for quite some time and I found it to be a fantastic application. I didn’t think that much could be done to improve on it. Wrong again! StageTraxx4 adds many features that have completely changed the way I use the application. It’s so much easier to manipulate the files and the improvements to midi control are excellent. I find the program to be reliable during live performance and this is a priority to anyone who plays live.

### 5/5 — A True 5 out of 5

*2026-06-20*

There has been so much thought put into the design and creation of this app. I just needed something to organise and play backing tracks with the ability to control EQ. This app gave me this and so much more. It’s feature rich and robust; it’s pretty much impossible to accidentally interrupt playback with a clumsy swipe on a touch screen for example. It integrates with external controllers with no fuss and, once you invest a little time in learning how to load and organise tracks, it’s easy to use and super reliable. A high quality app indeed.

### 5/5 — Best Performance App

*2026-06-20*

If you’re a Pro musician using backing tracks, you’re already running Stage Traxx. I’ve used this app from the first edition and I can say that the developer, Peter, is dedicated to the music community, encouraging user feedback and providing regular updates to accommodate our 'wish lists' and keep pace with technology.
I highly recommend this app.

### 5/5 — Love it

*2026-06-17*

Really helpful a lot with our playback shows

### 5/5 — Amazing!

*2026-06-14*

If you are getting into tracks, this is the exact thing you need to keep your songs organized!

### 5/5 — The standard..

*2026-06-13*

Excellent app for use on stage. Play your backing tracks, timestamp lyrics.. does everything I need

### 5/5 — A must have app

*2026-06-08*

I have been performing live for over 40 years and I can honestly say that ST4 is a game changer. We are currently performing as a duo with backing tracks and it has been flawless. I have also automated our DMX lighting by sending midi commands at certain points in the song which makes the stage performance much more dynamic. Don’t even hesitate to purchase ST4!

### 5/5 — So great

*2026-06-05*

It’s such an amazing piece of art. Well thought out. It works so well for me. I never would have found it if I hadn’t seen it on Scott Uhl’s YouTube channel. He’s a big believer and so am I. Thank you Peter!

### 5/5 — Musician

*2026-06-02*

Peter has created the nearly perfect backing track solution for live musicians. My respects Peter for your dedication.

### 5/5 — Absolutly love this!

*2026-05-16*

We have been using it for Worhsip and we absolutely love it!

## Most critical reviews (10 lowest-rated)

### 1/5 — Won’t Sync from 3 to 4

*2026-06-20*

Won’t work right

### 2/5 — Cannot re order playlists

*2026-07-08*

Can’t find any way of getting in touch without setting up an account which I do not want to do. I have several issues. On one device I can reorder the tracks but on my older iPad it won’t do the drag and drop. So I can’t have a set list in the order I want it. On the newer iPad on doing a gig having tested everything it cut all the clicks off the beginning of the tracks meaning we were literally all over the place. I gather this may be to do with the fact that I had to use a USBC adapter. Either way it’s not really fit for the purpose I need it for. I can either have no start of the track or I can not have the set in order. I would have liked to have sought help rather than leaving a review but unless I set up an account on their site you can’t start a discussion and there seems to be nowhere to email or message them.

**Developer response:** Enable "Batch Edit" mode in the playlist and drag the songs to the position you like. This works on all generation iPads where ST4 runs on.

The cutoff sound is a known issue with cheap USB-C audio adapters that often have a noise gate to mask their poor signal quality and this gate often opens too slow for a click to get through. You will need to use another adapter.

And to get in touch with me you don't need an account. Just open settings and tap on "Create support email".

### 2/5 — Can’t upgrade

*2026-06-12*

I opened Stage Traxx 3 and looked for an upgrade button or something and there was nothing. So I downloaded Stage Traxx 4 and the upgrade option wasn’t available either and it won’t sign into my App Store account. I figured I’ll just use the old version because the only thing I really need is to be able to change the key of the song but now most of my songs aren’t there. I looked in my files and they’re still listed under Stage Traxx 3 but I have no way to open them in the app, I just give up, I’ve wasted enough time with this.

**Developer response:** ST3 and ST4 are separate apps so that you can keep using ST3 if you like and are not forced to upgrade to version 4 if you prefer the old user interface. So there is no upgrade from ST3 to ST4. You can run both versions in parallel until you feel comfortable with ST4.

That said, the migration to ST4 is straight forward: Create a full backup in ST3 and restore that file in ST4.

### 2/5 — Frustrating

*2026-06-06*

I’ve gone back to using ST3. Absolutely couldn’t cope with it doing its own thing when I’m creating a queue. It was adding things I didn’t want and removing this I had already added. Not good in the middle of a gig

**Developer response:** Looks like you have used the "Advanced Queue Mode" in ST3. This mode is now available by disabling "Automatic Queue Handling": https://stagetraxx.com/docs/v4/settings/audio/playback-settings/#automatic-queue-handling. With that option disabled, ST4 behaves identical to ST3 with advanced queue mode on.

### 3/5 — Glitchy

*2026-08-03*

Would love to give this app 5-stars, but it’s glitchy. For example, when entering PDF lyric sync, one spends some time getting the page to jump to the right spot… but if you let it play to the end, the song stops, and you get an error that says something like “your work was not saved”… and all your edits for sync/timecode … gone… and you have to start from scratch. One of several idiosyncrasies I’ve noticed so far. Version 4.0.17 on Mac Tahoe 26.5.2

**Developer response:** This looks like a bug. Please use Settings > Create Support Email and explain the issue there so that I can take a detailed look at it.

### 3/5 — Lots of features, but it’s still not optimal

*2026-07-27*

Lots of folks have talked this app up and I know there’s not much out there that can beat it, but frankly I’m kinda disappointed with it. It has a lot of stuff in it which to me looks like solutions without problems such as the mixer. Setting regions is real tricky to do since it looks as though they didn’t really think it all the way through. No simple play/stop. I’m constantly trying to figure things out when if they had simply followed standard ui conventions would have been simple.

**Developer response:** Having a lot of functionality at your disposal does not mean you have to use all of it. Basic functionality is easy to use and if you don't need a mixer then, there is no harm in just not using it. The mixer for example is essential when working with multi track songs to get the balance between tracks right. If you just work with stereo playbacks you absolutely do not need it but it does not harm having it at your disposal.

Regarding the start/stop. If you don't want to use the on screen buttons, you can map midi actions or keyboard keys to trigger start/stop.

### 4/5 — Endstufe

*2026-06-11*

### 4/5 — Review

*2026-05-23*

It is more difficult to move track around within a set list than Stagetraxx 2. You can’t see and adjust track gain on the main page like you could in Stagetraxx 2. Otherwise it is good.

**Developer response:** Tracks can be moved around via drag & drop. This was not possible in version 3 (track 1 always remained to be track 1 and could not be moved) and version 2 did not have tracks at all.

The track gain can be adjusted even better in the mixer as the track level meter now shows exactly how loud your track is.

### 4/5 — I’m not happy

*2026-05-15*

I upgraded from Stage Traxx 3 and what is missing is a tab called general where it had the user interface and queue settings. Help me please.

**Developer response:** Settings have been restructured and can now be found by tapping on the more options button in the top right screen corner. You can find the queue settings in "Playback Settings". "User Interface" settings have remained unchanged.

### 4/5 — Bluetooth

*2026-04-16*

Issues connecting Bluetooth devices. iPad is connected in settings but Bluetooth receiver not showing up as an option to select in stage Traxx 4. Have had to revert back to stage Traxx 3 for a gigs because of inability to use Bluetooth. Please fix in update.

**Developer response:** Please contact me via Settings > Create Support Email with more details about your Bluetooth device. If it is an audio device, make sure to disable the "Multi-Route Audio" setting because that does not work with Bluetooth audio.

Amazing app for musicians!

### 5/5 — Awesome multitrack player

*2026-08-24*

This app is at the top of its game. We have been using it for the past three years and stepping up from version 3 is a game changer. From multitrack audio to lyrics and chords this thing just works seamlessly. It has never missed a beat in rehearsals and on stage. One of the easiest apps to program and operate live.

### 5/5 — Klasse App - funktioniert gut und tadellos

*2026-08-24*

### 5/5 — Fantastic App

*2026-08-16*

I’ve used a lot of different ways to have my music on stage over the years. This is the best app hands-down I recommend it to everyone.

### 5/5 — Amazing

*2026-08-03*

Whether you’re using this for backing tracks, or lyrics, or anything else, this program is well worth the money. Amazing what you can do with it and the cost

### 5/5 — Excellent software

*2026-08-03*

Such a fantastic app. I appreciate reading the release notes and getting actual changelog for each version. Well worth the money!

### 5/5 — Awesome product, outstanding value for money

*2026-07-25*

This is a great product for organising music and performances. After using this for a couple of years i would happily pay 5 times the current price to purchase each new version, as it is so good and doesn’t require subscription.

### 5/5 — Even better

*2026-07-22*

ST3 was great. This is even better
