It has really cool features but I just wished it had just a little bit more free features so I can test it out a bit more. I ended up paying and really like it but I’m writing for those who probably would still want to try out other options. Really good app though, just needs improvements for the last two stars :) ### 1/5 — Too Much Withheld *2025-06-18, version 8.7.1* I saw the many bad reviews, but still wanted to give it a try for myself - to give it the benefit of the doubt. I couldn’t even make an educated guess on how well or poorly the app works because if I tried to even delete an errant addition, I got slapped in the face with a paywall. This app is a bad gamble for the consumer, even at only $7-8 (no reliable info on the actual cost) for the “Pro” version. There’re many elements in the UI and general marketing that SCREAM “This is sketchy.” (Only two Instagram posts since Christmas 2021, only one of which had anything to do with the app?!) This could be the best app ever, and I still wouldn’t pay for the full version because of all of this and more. You’re better served using Pages or even MSPaint for your stage plots. ### 1/5 — StagePlot Guru *2025-02-09, version 8.7.1* Hours of work with too little reward… so far the worst I’ve ever used. First of all, I had to buy pro version to get more than 4 props. This is an app designer’s idea of what a plot should look like. Neither the plot not the pin list are particularly readable. Yes all the info is in there but it just looks like romper room. Missing all kinds of stuff like low profile wedges, any rf, and pedalboards. I would never in a million years hand this to a stage manager or audio vendor. ### 1/5 — Still has same issues *2024-03-04, version 8.3* I’ve been reading all the reviews for this app, and no wonder it has a low rating. They still have the same issues as 6 years ago per their reviews. 1. Still lots of pop-ups that you need to buy the subscription for anything you want to do. 2. Most equipments are locked. 3. No search button to look for a specific item. 4. Cannot rotate the items. 5. I’m not sure if they have lecterns? 6. Unable to edit/delete items without paying for the subscription. 7. No zoom in/out. 8. I’m trying to built a theater stage, I don’t think this is the app to use for that. ### 1/5 — Awful *2024-03-02, version 8.3* Haven’t really felt the need to write a review for an app until today. Can’t do anything without paying the $4.99. No obvious delete button after you drop an image in. Been waiting over a month for an update to fix that major bug, nothing so far. And moving the props is not an easy task… you think you’re moving one and you’re moving the other especially if they are overlapping… the UI is not coded very well… ### 1/5 — Soldi buttati via *2023-12-09* Fai prima, e meglio, a disegnartelo da te su un A4 ### 2/5 — Great potential but very buggy *2023-11-22, version 8.3* This app is exactly what I was looking for and some things work great, such as finding a placing equipment on the stage and adding text labels. But almost everything else is a mess. For example, smaller objects are nearly impossible to resize or rotate. There is, for all intents and purposes, no text formatting. If you make a copy of a stage plot and edit it the copy it messes up the copy, which defeats the purpose. There are fields for things like notes and equipment details but I could not figure out how to populate any of these. This app could be fantastic with some dev effort and proper testing and would be a great bargain at $4.99, but not in it’s current state. ### 1/5 — Верните деньги! *2023-10-22* Вместо профессионального софта вы продаете кривую программу с устаревшим дизайном. I wish I could have know the limitations before being forced to buy. Maybe a 7 day trail would be better. **Developer response:** Hello- Sorry to hear the app didn't meet your expectations. Is it possible there is an issue with your device? Or perhaps, you are running an older iOS version. There are most certainly rotating options. As far as blurry export, it's possible you have run into a situation where you are making a copy of a copy. In other words, by default, stage plots will export as a pdf. If, however, you are selecting *export as pdf when sharing, this will share a copy of a copy, causing the image to be blurry. Would not write a bad review if this app cost $2. But for $7!!! Yikes. Rip off. Rotating, positioning, and sizing to plot scale is frustrating on an iPad with limited workspace and arthritic fingers. I bought the "full feature" version and have gone back to Sharpie on paper on the job because the app is slow to use and has too many insufficiencies to make it practical in a realtime festival setting. UPDATE: And now I'm expected to "resubmit" sign in info to use app. Helpfully suggests my Google, Facebook, Apple accounts for signing in. I bought the damn thing, I shouldn't have to sign in every time I want to use it. ### 1/5 — Waste of money *2026-04-24, version 8.7.8* Doesn’t do everything I need. I bought a stage plot program online for the same price that does so much more. UPDATE: the developer contacted me and felt that me being honest about how they misrepresent the product as free and then bait and switch you into buying it was a personal attack. Their rude response definitely cements my comments as factual about how they do business. Stay away and go with a reputable company with good support instead of this sloppy app. There are much better options to be had, which is the route we took. Thank heavens we did, from their response to an honest review we can see we made the right choice to avoid this developer, their tactics, their poor attitude, and their lack of professional customer service. To the developer: telling the truth is not a “personal attack” or a “false claim”, if you feel the truth is these things then you are shady, as I originally stated… and you just confirmed it. Good luck with your business, try to improve and maybe the truth won’t hurt so badly. ### 1/5 — Stage Layout and printing difficult to work with *2025-10-09, version 8.7.4* Can’t adjust background to fit the stage and printing cuts off the plot, equipment list, etc making it incomplete. It won’t allow you to build a stage plot past one instrument. You will be “invited” with the option to their subscription as soon as you select a second instrument. Keeps improving. Perfect for a quick solution for a quality StagePlot. Excellent regular updates and customer support is top-notch. They have live support at stageplotguru.com and if I ever needed a question answered, someone is always there. Another great point is—NO SUBSCRIPTION yay! One price and regular updates for life. I read some other reviews of users who experienced a bug, but from what I’ve seen so far these guys are right on top of it and usually fix things quickly. It’s an older app- but it’s solid. A great tool for creating professional stage plots, with channel inputs and notes for each instrument puts everything you need for a tech rider in one app. V5.3 is a great upgrade - sub menus for props speeds things up and options for sharing the info is super useful. ### 5/5 — ***UPDATE*** *2020-06-28, version 7.4* After the developers realized the issue of not being able to export, they’ve fixed the issue. Prima um es mit den Bandkollegen auszutauschen! Bin voll zufrieden! Wer noch die Verkabelung einzeichnen möchte überfordert das Programm! Die bisher schlechte Bewertung hat es nicht verdient!
