## What is Stamm Creator?

Stamm Creator turns a list of names into the kind of family tree you'd want framed on the wall — ornamental border, a tree motif in the background, and elegant copperplate lettering for the title.

Just add people and connect them — the app handles the rest:

– Tree of life: your family drawn as a real tree — the founding couple at the trunk, every child a branch, growing with every person. Behind it rises a golden sun with your place of worship, from Lalish to church, mosque, synagogue or temple — ten to choose from.
– Automatic kinship detection: tap any two people and Stamm Creator tells you exactly how they're related, from second cousin to great-aunt.
– Gender is suggested from the first name, and can always be overridden by hand.
– A built-in consistency check (e.g. births before a parent's marriage) helps catch mistakes early.
– Keep several family trees at once and switch between them.
– Flexible look: eight styles — from fine copperplate and cream & gold to colourful family colours — six shapes for the name fields and eleven typefaces. Switch any time; your tree keeps its arrangement.
– Export as a print-quality vector PDF in four page designs (certificate, gallery, chronicle, plain) — perfect for a poster-sized print or sharing as a file.
– Backs up to your own iCloud, plus a manual file export for keeping or transferring your tree.
– For iPhone and iPad, fully localized in German and English (follows your system language automatically).

No subscription. Two PDF exports are included; more are available individually or as a pack of five.

Your data stays yours: Stamm Creator stores everything locally on your device or in your own iCloud. No ads, no tracking, no accounts.

## Version history (last 4 releases)

### 1.3 — 2026-10-06

New in 1.3:
– Place of worship: a golden sun rises behind your tree of life, with Lalish, a church, mosque, synagogue, temple and more – ten to choose from, hand-drawn in gold with fine line shading.
– Poster PDF in the look of the editor: warm paper with fine grain, ornamental frame, title and subtitle.
– Deceased family members are marked with a small illustrated gravestone – fitting every faith.
– A meadow of grass blades now grows under the tree.
– New family trees start right away as a tree of life – just tap the big +.
– Tidier settings menu and a compact appearance panel.
– Legal notice and version number in the settings menu.
– PDF exports: 2 are included; more are available individually or as a pack of five. Sharing the same tree again is free.

### 1.2 — 2026-10-02

What's new in 1.2

– Tree of life: a new arrangement drawn as a real tree – the progenitor on the trunk, the descendants as branches. It grows in the direction of each family.
– Two looks: hand-drawn on old parchment, or plain.
– Branches as in nature: their thickness follows the size of each family, side branches grow out of branches, and the foliage gets denser towards the tips.
– Drag a name to shorten or lengthen its branch – everything attached moves along. Drag the first branch down to shorten the trunk.
– Couples share one banner, both names the same size.
– PDF export of the tree of life as a poster, in both looks.
– Family trees can now also grow from bottom to top – text and symbols stay upright.
– People list: tap the people count at the top, swipe left to delete, delete several people at once and quickly find anyone without a connection.
– Many smaller improvements and fixes.

### 1.1 — 2026-09-25

What's new in 1.1

– Four elegant styles: Copperplate, Cream & Gold, Midnight Blue & Gold and Subtle Accents – alongside the colourful family colours.
– Six shapes for the name fields: pill, card, label, medallion, cartouche and banner.
– Switch style and shape at any time – the arrangement of your tree stays exactly the same.
– Names now fill their field and are much easier to read.
– Seven new typefaces for names.
– Redesigned PDF export with four page designs – Certificate, Gallery, Chronicle and Plain – that adapt to any paper size, from A4 to poster.
– Clearer lines when zoomed out, sibling lines merge cleanly, and no more flickering while moving branches.
