## What is StampRescue?

Your national park journal now fills itself.

StampRescue finds the national parks, monuments, and physical passport stamp stations near you — and quietly turns the photos you already took into a record of every park you have ever visited.

YOUR JOURNAL FILLS ITSELF

Open the app and StampRescue checks your newest photos for parks you visited. When it finds one, a stamp drops into your journal with a little celebration. No check-ins, no typing, no forms.

• Automatic visit detection from your photo library
• A stamp animation the moment a new park is collected
• An optional notification when new stamps are waiting for you
• Your very first scan rebuilds years of past trips at once

Come home from a road trip, open StampRescue, and the parks are already there.

FIND PASSPORT STAMP STATIONS

The finder that started it all is still here, and still works offline.

• Search national parks, monuments, historic sites, and seashores
• Find the physical passport stamp stations reported at each site
• See distance, opening hours, and whether a station is open right now
• Browse an interactive map of parks near you or along your route
• Check park details before you drive out of your way

Know which park to visit and where to look for the cancellation stamp before you arrive.

A BUCKET LIST YOU CAN FINISH

Pick the parks you dream of visiting and watch the number climb: 23 of 63 National Parks.

• Add all 63 National Parks to your list with one tap
• Or build your own list of monuments, seashores, and historic sites
• Visits you collect check themselves off automatically

SHARE THE STAMP

Every collected park can become a stamp-seal image with the park name and the date you were there — ready for Instagram, Messages, or anywhere you want to show off the trip.

MAKE YOUR OWN PHOTO STAMPS

Turn a favorite park photo into a personal Photo Stamp that combines the picture, the park name, your visit date, and a collectible stamp design. Perfect for the parks where you forgot to get the real cancellation stamp.

PLAN THE NEXT TRIP

Build a multi-park route in a sensible order for your itinerary, and get National Park Service alerts for closures and conditions before you go.

MADE FOR

• National park passport stamp collectors
• Cancellation stamp collectors
• Park visit trackers and journal keepers
• Road trippers working through the 63 National Parks
• Anyone with years of park memories buried in their camera roll

PRIVACY

Photo scanning happens entirely on your device. Your photos and their locations are never uploaded and never leave your phone — no account required.

StampRescue shares only anonymous visit counts: which parks were visited on which days, with no name, no account, and no photos attached. That is what lets the app show how busy a park has been lately. Nothing else is sent.

Find the park. Find the stamp. Remember the visit.

StampRescue is an independent travel companion and is not affiliated with or endorsed by the National Park Service or the Passport To Your National Parks program.

## Version history (last 5 releases)

### 1.2.6 — 2026-08-11

Quicker, quieter scans.

• FASTER OPENS — StampRescue no longer re-reads your whole photo library every time. It picks up where it left off and looks only at what is new, so the Visits tab is ready sooner and the battery lasts longer.
• MAP FIX — the park map framed the open ocean for a handful of parks. It now frames the park.
• Spacing and layout touch-ups across the journal, the visit timeline and park pages.

Photo scanning still happens entirely on your device. Tell us what to add next.

### 1.2.5 — 2026-08-11

Your park journal now fills itself.

• AUTOMATIC STAMPS — Open the app and StampRescue checks your newest photos for parks you visited. Every new park lands in your journal with a stamp celebration, and your very first scan rebuilds years of past trips at once.
• NEW-STAMP NOTIFICATIONS — Turn them on and you will hear about stamps waiting for you after a trip, without opening the app first.
• BUCKET LIST — Pick the parks you dream of visiting and watch the count climb: 23 of 63 National Parks. Add all 63 with one tap. Visits check themselves off as you collect them.
• SHARE CARDS — Turn any collected park into a stamp-seal image with the park name and your visit date, ready for Instagram or Messages.

Photo scanning still happens entirely on your device, and your photos never leave your phone.

### 1.2.4 — 2026-08-06

Month navigation for your visits timeline.

• A sticky bar keeps the month you're viewing in sight, with that month's parks, photos, and videos.
• Month dividers carry the same totals, so any month reads at a glance.
• Jump to month: pick any year and month that has entries and go straight there.
• Fixed: switching between Timeline and Map now keeps your place in the list instead of jumping back to the top.

### 1.2.3 — 2026-08-05

Much faster, smoother visit scanning.

The photo-to-park matching introduced in the last update was doing far too much work while you waited, which could make the app freeze during a scan — especially on large photo libraries. Matching is now about 100x faster and the app stays responsive the whole way through.

Visit results are unchanged: the same boundary-accurate matching, just without the wait.

### 1.2.1 — 2026-07-29

Stamp Rescue is now two apps in one, and you pick which one you need.

PASSPORT — for chasing physical stamps
The map now shows parks, not a thousand identical pins. Each park is marked open, closing soon, or closed based on its own stamp stations, so you can see at a glance where you can still get inked today. Tap a park for its stations, hours and directions, and switch between map and list without losing your place. Park pages now include a map of just that park's stamp stations.

JOURNAL — for the trips you've already taken
A new home screen shows how many parks you've visited and how many Photo Stamps you've made. Your visits are laid out year by year, each trip with its own photos, and a map shows everywhere you've been. Your Photo Stamps now live in their own gallery, grouped by year.

Choose where to start the first time you open the app, then switch anytime from the top of the screen.

Also in this update:
- Search covers every National Park Service site, not just the 63 national parks.
- Tap a visit and you land on that exact trip, not the newest one.
- Scan progress stays visible wherever you are in the list.
- New look throughout, and a lot of small fixes.
