However, as a company, Star Bank has something more important. A core business model of the best people to bridge the gap between the company and its customers. Deb Durnell is such a brilliant example. She is a highly knowledgeable personal banker who has always been available to me. She is the reason most of my banking decisions are with Star Bank. I am doing all of the work electronically so not sure why the charges and 5.00 each time is unacceptable. I guess I could come to the bank each time and take money out and redeposit it at the teller- seems ridiculous. In fact, I started working at Lincoln National Bank in Fort Wayne and left Wells Fargo 10 years later. I know banks, bankers, and all the processors who make the “front room” look easy. With all this knowledge and experience, I can honestly say that I have never been happier with a bank and the tellers and others I see at the downtown Fort Wayne office. I should have known this when the CSR who opened my first account at Star was named Karma. Every time I go in the bank, I feel genuinely welcomed. I cannot express how much better this is than any other bank I’ve known. Even the ATM with access to a real person if necessary is great.
