## What is Star Reward Charts?

It's 7:40. One sock on, breakfast going cold, and you've said "shoes" three times.

The first time was cheerful. The second had their name in it. The third sounded like someone you never planned to be.

Your child is not being difficult. They know every step of this morning and could recite it back to you. Knowing it has never been the problem.

The problem is that the order lives in your head. You hold the sequence, you call the next step, you supply the urgency. You are not reminding your child. You are being the routine.

Star Reward Charts is a reward chart with the order built in. Something you point at together, instead of something you recite.

Your child's morning becomes a short path on the screen. Make bed, breakfast, teeth, shoes, in your family's order. The step they are on is lit up, the rest wait behind it, and they press and hold to collect their own star as each one is done.

HOW IT WORKS

1. Start with the part you dread
Pick a routine, use the guided suggestions or add your own steps, then put them in your family's order.

2. Choose how each child sees it
A rainbow path suits a six-year-old and insults a twelve-year-old, who still needs the routine. So there are five views of the same routine, from the winding path to a plain list, saved per child. The look ages out years before the need does.

3. They collect their own stars
Your child presses and holds to collect a star for a finished step. The path brightens and the next step becomes current. No approval queue, no waiting on you. And if real life happens out of order, they can still collect a later star.

4. Finish and celebrate
Completing the routine opens the treasure chest and earns gems for monster items. Stars build towards a real reward your family chose together: ice cream, the park, a toy, picking the film on Friday. That part is entirely yours.

YOU STAY IN CHARGE

- Give each routine its own steps, days, and optional reminder
- Anytime tasks keep extra jobs separate from the routine itself
- Adjust a balance, or undo a star or a reward claim, from history
- Share one iPhone, or use the same account on separate parent iPhones
- Child Mode hides parent screens and sets what each child can do
- No ads

THE ROUTINE COMES FIRST

The monster, the chest, and the gems celebrate progress. They are not the point. There is no pet to feed, no world to maintain, nothing that keeps your child in the app once the real routine is done. The chest opens because the bed got made. Then the app gets out of the way.

WHEN GETTING STARTED IS THE HARD PART

Some children stall at the start of a step, lose the thread halfway, or finish one thing with no idea what follows. Visible, ordered sequences are a familiar tool in those households, including families supporting autistic children.

If ADHD is part of your picture, the useful thing is not another reminder. It is the routine living on the screen instead of in your voice.
That is the whole design.

WHY I BUILT IT

I'm Paul, and I have ADHD. The part of me that was supposed to keep my daughter's chore chart going is the same part that loses the car keys.

I made her a paper chart. It lasted one school week. In week two I forgot to print a fresh one, and it sat on the fridge out of date while I gave the same instructions I'd always given.
What I wanted was the real routine on a screen, in order, with stars my daughters could collect themselves, because I am not reliable enough to be a dependency in my own family's morning.

And I'm still here. If something breaks, or you can't work out how to do something, you get me, not a ticketing system.

### 1/5 — Consistent part of our life, currently not working

*2026-08-19*

I’ve been using this app with our 2 girls, ages 7 and 10, many many times per day for 3 months. It’s integral. It’s not perfect but so close and has been worth every penny.
It’s been down without any tech support available for 3+ days and I am disabled without it.

Update, Aug 2026
Paul sent the very nice message below. I emailed him. His email has been shut down and tech support is once again unavailable.

**Developer response:** nicadai, I’m sorry. The email address in my earlier response was incorrect. I want to get this fixed for you ASAP as I've released a brand new version of the app buitl from the groud up.

If you can please make sure you have the latest version of the app and then open the app and go to More > Settings > Send us a message. That securely includes the account details I need to identify your family and investigate what has stopped working.

I’ll reply directly and make sure you receive the subscription extension I promised.

### 5/5 — Broken - now fixed!!

*2026-06-08*

This looks like it is working again! I’m so happy. I didn’t want to loose access to this app because it is great. I hope this is permanent fix and not temporary!

Original post: I’m so disappointed! We love this app and we used it all last summer. I just automatically renewed my subscription and went on to login to set up my kids schedule and chores for the summer and it seems to be completely broken! I can’t login and it made us restart everything. Please fix!

### 1/5 — Broken

*2026-06-01*

Great idea but it doesn’t work after a few days and resets all the work.
My toddler really liked and now I have to go find something else

### 2/5 — Erased everything and I couldn’t log in

*2026-05-31*

So I uninstalled it and tried to login again. When I tried app said: 9:19

There has been a critical error on this website.</ p>
Learn more about troubleshooting
WordPress.

Help. We have worked hard to accumulate stars. And now I have no idea how many stars we have. it was a fantastic app and perfect when it was working. Five stars if you can fix it and bring my data back.!

### 3/5 — Great idea, glitchy app

*2026-05-25*

I love the simplicity of the app and the idea of it but it’s just so glitchy. I often have to restart the app to award stars or when switching between child profiles. Today I went in the issue a setback and it sent me to the set up page like it had erased all my data. I tried to go through the setup again but it said it couldn’t create the child profile and to try again later. If those issues were cleared up I’d consider paying for it but as it is it’s not worth it.

Added a star for the developer’s response.

**Developer response:** 4thachildren, I'm sorry. The "erased all my data" moment in January was an early sign of a server issue that we didn't catch and fix until now. It's fixed now and profiles saved before then were preserved on our side. You said you'd consider paying if the issues were cleared. They are. Email paul@starrewardsapp.com and I'll extend your subscription to cover the outage and add twelve months, so the "consider paying" part is on me to earn, not you to risk.

Paul

### 1/5 — “Unable to create new account. Please try again later”

*2026-03-15, version 1.21*

I have tired multiple different emails to no avail. I have tried a different name as my names usual, thinking that might be why it didn’t want to accept it, no luck. Tried different types of passwords and nope. So I’m a bit gutted. Deleted the app and reinstalled, didn’t make any difference.

### 2/5 — Glitchy

*2026-02-15*

This app was so helpful at first but now it’s erased all of my child’s progress and won’t even let me create a new profile

**Developer response:** Ksmommy, I'm sorry for what you went through. Your child's progress isn't actually gone. The app had a server issue from early February until April that made existing profiles unreadable and blocked new ones from saving. The data from before that window was preserved on our side. Email paul@starrewardsapp.com and I'll check your account and confirm what's there. If you had an active subscription through that period, I'll also extend it to cover the outage and add twelve months.

Paul

### 2/5 — Broken

*2026-02-07*

This app is really great and useful for me as a behavioral therapist. Unfortunately, it is extremely glitchy, and I believe no longer works. I have not been able to sign into my account for over two weeks and before this I have had a lot of issues with the app glitching. I have attempted to contact support numerous times, but still have gotten nothing back. Hopefully they fix those bugs and update the app.

**Developer response:** KalilahRose, I owe you a real apology. You relied on this professionally and it let you down when you needed it most. The app had a server issue that ran from early February, and messages sent to support during that window didn't come through. Both are sorted now. If the app is worth a second look for your practice, email paul@starrewardsapp.com and I'll extend your subscription to cover the outage and add twelve months.

I also have a new version with a more modern UI coming out soon too.

### 1/5 — DO NOT BUY

*2026-02-06*

We used this app for about 2.5 months and my kid was having fun tracking his stars. It was great until it glitched out. Would not work at all. I tried restarting etc. contacted customer support with NO response. Deleted it and reloaded it. Now I cannot login and get an error every time I try to reset my password. I paid $50 for the annual subscription. There is NO SUPPORT. Waste of money. Very frustrated.

**Developer response:** You paid for a year and got two and a half months of a working app. That's not acceptable. The app had a server issue from February, and not all support messages from that window didn't come through. Email paul@starrewardsapp.com and I'll extend your subscription to cover the outage and add twelve months.

Paul

### 1/5 — It used to be great

*2026-02-04*

We LOVED using this, but suddenly we are stuck in an endless loop of starting over without it actually letting us.

**Developer response:** I'm sorry, especially about the "used to be." You're right, it was working and then it wasn't. The endless loop of starting over was the app failing to sync with a server that was offline from early February until 21 April. It's stable again now. If you want to check on your saved profiles or test it before deciding whether to come back, email paul@starrewardsapp.com and I'll extend your subscription to cover the outage and add twelve months
