Reason why I put only 4 star because the help info to explain different options of stacking is missing. Also the speed of stacking is slow as compared with other star stacking apps. ### 3/5 — Crashes but decent *2025-03-02* Pretty good for a mobile app and does what it says. However, it does tend to crash a lot making it hard to use consistently. Crashes every time I attempt to stack the images after choosing the ones I needed. Wasn’t sure how to contact the developer as no website listed unless I’m missing something. Noticed it’s not been updated for a couple of years so the developer should take it off sale or update it more regularly to work with future iOS updates. Be happy for you to allow me to send some logs if available so we can get it working? If no updates forthcoming I’ll request a refund. ### 3/5 — It needs a manual stacking and automatic alignment function. *2024-04-14* The app is ok but it needs manual stacking and a automatic alignment function for it to be good for a astrophotographers stacking needs. Also a way to set the picture format and edit it would make this app much better. I didn't see this: "For best results, allow access to all photos. If you allow access to specific photos, you must only select these same photos from the photo picker." I selected "specific photos" bu I can't actually select ANY photos now and there appears to be no way to go back and select "all photos". And "contact me" doesn't work to ask for help. The only way I can see around this is to delete the app and pay for it again. It stacked almost 300 jpegs, but gave me no options as to what I could do to improve the blend mode or appearance of the star trails. The program did stack the images, but Adobe Lightroom did most of the heavy lifting in prepping the images. I guessed that jpegs would work as it would not allow me to select raw files. I give it a 3 Star rating which is a C as it is about as basic as it gets in stacking and does not assist the user in getting more out of the program to achieve a archival finished image. I would only recommend this program for the hobbits who has low expectations and just wants to stack frames. ### 5/5 — Perfect for stacking stars for star trails, moon for *2025-03-15* I’m a astrophotography hobbyist since 2009 with my Canon T1i, 2014 Canon 70D, and since 2023 with my Canon R5. Widefield astrophotography allows creativity, capturing foreground with sky objects. Stat Stacker is a great tool for the any astrophotographer.
