So tedious. And the constant flow of ads is ridiculous. ### 1/5 — App doesn’t work at all *2022-11-08* After you accept the terms and conditions, the app just gets stuck at the lime green splash screen, and never loads past that. I’ve tried several times before finally giving up and uninstalling the useless app ### 1/5 — Mandatory updates too often *2022-07-01, version 2.10.2* Every 2 weeks or so, the app requires mandatory update. Followed with re-login and all of the hassles. I only use this app to top up my balances, and there aren’t many things that you can do with the app anyway. What’s with all of the updates? Even Windows does not do this anymore! Annoying ### 1/5 — Keeping freezing and crashes *2020-07-30, version 2.6.0* This version keeps freezing and crashing, making it impossible to use. ### 1/5 — Is it necessary to force update? *2020-07-27, version 2.6.0* Without update it is not possible for prepaid client to use the app. What alternative is there to top up for prepaid? ### 1/5 — Network Not Available *2020-05-10* No matter how many restarts and app installations, the app will not open because network is not available. ### 1/5 — Infinite OTP trap *2020-02-07* First, BEWARE: the “free data” they advertise is local (for use in Singapore) only. Second, and worse, this app has a built-in infinite OTP trap, where, if you bought the SIM for use with a portable WiFi device, you’d better pray for free public WiFi access somewhere because it’s impossible to receive the OTP without it. You have to take the StarHub SIM out of your WiFi device, put in into an unlocked phone, connect your phone to another WiFi, verify the OTP, then put the SIM back into your WiFi device. This app will force you to do this at least three times per day. StarHub Support will also insist on you restarting every device every single time you do anything, which will trigger yet another OTP verification. I added 20$ it never came up even I got confirmation. Impossible to reach customer service. Scam. ### 1/5 — Wipes out credit even on a data package. *2019-10-24, version 2.1.1* I had a one month data roaming pack subscribed for emergencies as I am traveling with my sick mother. I had not used any data or any calls during the subscription period by disabling the sim on my dual sim phone. Just landed in Milan and turned on my phone to “discover” that my main wallet balance is wiped out and can’t use my phone when I actually need it. I am very phone savvy and know there were no errors on my side. How can my data package expire ahead of time without using it and more importantly how can my main wallet be consumed in airplane mode during a 12 hour flight. This is the 3rd time that the exact same thing has happened and now I know it’s deliberate. Note to Starhub techies. My number is 82510105. Pls can you give me an adequate explanation for this recurring problem and more importantly can you give me a solution. I am otherwise overall very pleased with the service and would definitely change my rating upon resolution. ### 1/5 — Bad version *2019-09-14, version 2.1.0* This version of app is really bad. App user interface Very confusing. I am using your prepaid SIM card in a mobile wifi device for my kids and it is tedious to get the OTP every time you upgrade your app. I have renewed the prepaid plan a number of times and I think I am a low risk customer. Shows you how much data you’ve used and had no problem switching to roaming from Singapore to Malaysia. Connection was also good. A bit slower in Malaysia but not that slow. Still get 4G. I’d get this again. ### 3/5 — Great service but buggy app *2019-06-04* Love Starhub but this app’s latest update is probably losing the company so much money. I used a debit card and saved it for future use. Now when I try to pay again the “pay” button never lights up (green) to let me pay. I tried reinstalling the app so that it stops prefilling my debit card data and even when filling it out again it never validates but says “Expiry Date is invalid”. There’s no way it’s letting me pay. Expiry is 01/21 so valid. ### 2/5 — Apps not loading *2019-12-18* When I opened starhub prepared apps was asked to input my mobile no which I did so but ott no was never received. This happened since I activated or bought roaming data of S$25,- which was deducted from my account but the service is not available and the apps is not loading.
