### 3/5 — More info

*2025-08-02, version 3.4.1*

Ideally, it would be nice for the app to provide you the mode your hearing aids are in and the volume you were at. Step 2, show the mode the hearing aids are in and show the next toggle level such as I open the app and I am in Personal. I see that in the app and the next toggle would show the next level such as Crowd.

### 2/5 — Beware Starkey User

*2025-04-18, version 3.4.1*

Below Average, sometimes it works, most times it doesn’t … worked with the old pair of ears… but now with new set it doesn’t even chime properly… missing a note or something?? Volume sometimes goes up or sometimes app chimes and no change of volume… what’s the point? Meant to be able to adjust the volume… Ear pieces awesome, app below average - quite embarrassing… trying to adjust in public and its chiming but not changing- talk about frustration

### 1/5 — Ready for change

*2023-05-05, version 3.3*

Had Starkey in the ear hearing aids for 10 yrs got new aids last year but very disappointed. T2 app is very poor and does not work half the time. Aids do not work well without T2 app. Will be looking to purchase new aids from a different vendor.

### 2/5 — No explanations of functions

*2023-04-28, version 3.3*

The app explains the obvious (swipe up, swipe down), but there’s nothing to explain what ”memory” is. After swiping, there is no feedback to indicate whether the hearing aid made the change.

### 1/5 — Help

*2023-01-31, version 3.3*

Someone needs to make an up to date app. I can’t believe this is as good as it can be with all the new technology in the world. This can’t be a huge project for a jr person to upgrade.

### 1/5 — Terrible Software

*2023-01-01, version 3.3*

I naively thought this software would enable me to make fine adjustments. Unless I’m mistaken, one can only make very crude changes in volume. Your documentation is so poor I have no way of knowing your software capabilities.

### 1/5 — Hearing aid

*2022-10-31, version 3.3*

Hard to work the app.

### 1/5 — Disappointing App T2

*2022-09-05, version 3.3*

Very disappointed in the app, it just doesn’t work l can’t adjust the volume or change between the memory setting l have on my hearing aid. You think when you buy a high quality hearing aid that the Bluetooth software/app would function it’s a shame that the app doesn’t meet the quality of the hearing aid.

### 1/5 — Evolv: Very Basic and Inadequate

*2022-07-22, version 3.3*

My last Starkey aids were “Picaasos”. The Remote was basic but effective. The new “Evols” App is a step backward. No Sound Settings, just volume control. The Apps “manual” is ridiculous, about one paragraph. I will probably return these . What was Starkey thinking.?

### 1/5 — Please Update This App!!

*2022-03-27, version 3.3*

This app worked wonderfully when I first got my hearing aid. Now the volume will not adjust the aid when I need to change it. I have deleted the app and downloaded it and it still doesn’t work right.

### 1/5 — As politely as possible, this is a dumb app.

*2022-03-09, version 3.3*

I really don’t like the app or it’s feature. I have NO clue why I want to decrease or increase memory. That part makes zero sense to me. The mute button also seems silly. I guess it turns off the volume for a few minutes or however long, but I think I’ll stick to removing the hearing aide if that’s what I want to do. My opinion, don’t count on the app providing valuable information.

### 1/5 — One big step backwards.

*2022-03-03, version 3.3*

The little remote worked perfectly with the TV. There is nothing like taking something that works and replacing it with a poorly thought out concept with no updates.

### 2/5 — Not so much the app

*2022-02-02*

The app works fine but the technology seems to be a little old. Since the hearing aids use a tone (like an old dial up modem) to change settings several things interfere with it. For instance: when I get into my car the door chime sets off my right aid and changes the memory which I have to then reset by taking out the battery and using the phone with just one or the other aid to re sync them

Next: the cycle timer on my Maytag washer changes the volume in one or the other which also needs re syncing.

I can even simulate the tone sometimes with my whistle which only happened once but I thought that was weird

Since then I have had the memory feature turned off for crowd and outdoors.

### 1/5 — Doesn’t work

*2022-01-27, version 3.3*

I got the hearing aides few weeks ago and wanted the app so I didn’t need to keep adjusting volume. I can’t even get the app paired with app.

### 2/5 — Too Many Irritating, Confusing Beeps

*2021-10-06, version 3.3*

This app was so bad, it was the cause of my returning the new Evolv AI IIC hearing aids. The beep sounds for volume/memory adjustments were loud enough to irritate nearby people despite turning the generic volume low. The ability to see the exact volume level was absent, leaving me so many beeps to interpret, it was confusing.
An overall terrible app.

### 1/5 — Starkey T2 Remote

*2021-10-03, version 3.3*

Volume setting is a total guess. No feedback. Tones change settings. I’ve had sounds in restaurants change the settings. Technology has passed this device. Do not recommend it.

### 1/5 — Disappointed, VA lowest bidder?

*2021-09-10, version 3.3*

App doesn’t connect to hearing aids without clunky clip on black box. App in itself does absolutely nothing. Just, (boop boop beep) and does absolutely nothing to adjust my hearing aids. Now I have expensive earplugs, cause I hear better without them in, and that’s not too great by the way. I’ll go back to huh? Huh? Oh that’s want you said. 😞

### 1/5 — Trying to adjust the volume of my aids

*2021-08-17, version 3.3*

His app is a waste of time and energy
You should be ashamed of yourself

### 1/5 — Pretty worthless

*2021-08-08, version 3.3*

Poor app, only works part. The time

## Most critical reviews (10 lowest-rated)

### 1/5 — ?

*2025-01-14, version 3.4.1*

Why in this day and age would a large hearing aid manufacturer producing AI hearing aids think this app is suitable. IIC user that has to leave a room to adjust devices. One by one! Come on Starkey. Must do better.

### 1/5 — Unequal adjustments

*2023-12-30*

So I've used T2 remote for the past 3-4 years and it has been working well. After upgrading to Gemini AI along with ITC hearing aids without the Bluetooth, I feel the updated version is causing only one sided adjustments rather than both hearing aids. This applies to both volume and memory. The only work around I have right now is adjust one to the preferred settings and take it out without opening the battery door and place it somewhere, and then go in another room, open the other hearing aid, put it back in ear, then adjust it to my preferred settings. There needs to be a fix to this ASAP considering the amount of money spent on this.

### 1/5 — Horrible Disappointment

*2023-10-31, version 3.4.1*

This app and for that matter the Starkey hearing aids are worthless. I have not been able to adjust aids except sporadically. I was told an update was needed for the app to work and yet the update has not been developed. Horrible.

### 1/5 — Does not work

*2023-10-16*

I just bought these hearing aids and they worked really well for one day. Once I got home, I couldn’t adjust the right side hearing aid using the app. After changing the batteries, the right side began to work a little bit better but now the left side doesn’t work even with new batteries. Additionally, when I hold the phone up to one side it occasionally changes both sides. When it changes both sides, this causes them to be out of sync. Meaning one is louder than the other and I have to take the batteries out to reset them to the default volume. Complete waste of money.

### 1/5 — Horrible app.

*2023-09-08, version 3.3*

It’s 2023 and the app operates as if it were 2001.

It’s pathetic.

### 1/5 — Pointless

*2023-07-28, version 3.3*

Used to have settings like restaurant or meeting. Now only volume control that if late doesn't work. Other apps “not available in my area.” On 2nd set of Starkey HA’s. Lots of spiel as to new Genesis line, hut thus app remains an afterthought … or no thought.

### 1/5 — Upset

*2023-07-08, version 3.3*

It would be nicer if we were able to control the equalizer

### 1/5 — Doesn't work

*2023-07-04, version 3.3*

It's a real shame that a company like Starkey, which makes one of the best hearing aids has a crappy app that doesn't work.

### 1/5 — Terrible and inconsistent

*2023-07-03, version 3.3*

This app is one of the worst experiences I’ve had. To spend $8000 on hearing devices and have to be relegated to this poorly designed app is a big disappointment.

### 1/5 — Does not work

*2023-06-02*

This app does not work. I have small in-the-canal aids. The only way to adjust volume is through the app. Three years ago when I got the aids the app worked. Now it does not. I contacted Starkey which did not help. I was told to delete the app and reinstall. I did this several times. Still does not work. Aids which cannot be adjusted are almost useless. Starkey charges thousands for their product. The app is a critical part and should work.

## Most praised reviews (10 highest-rated)

### 5/5 — Works perfectly as designed.

*2020-06-28*

People on here giving one and two stars need to get educated on what this app actually does and what it was designed for.

First off, you have to have a paired and compatible Starkey aid that needs to be setup and programmed by an audiologist. They will explain the functionality and features along with answering any questions you may have.

For those of us the have Invisible In-Canal aids that do not support other iPhone apps nor have a physical button, this app is perfect for quick volume, mute, or changing custom memories. Basic, generic, but it works just fine!

### 5/5 — Hearing is fun

*2013-02-05, version 2.3*

This app works perfect and I don't even need to put my iphone up to my hearing aid. Just brush your finger over the sensor over the top right corner and it it loud enough to pickup at least 2 feet away. Love to see app that would know what volume and memory my aid is at.

### 5/5 — Great once you get the hang of it

*2009-12-01*

It's not immediately intuitive that you need to put the phone by your ear to make the app generate the remote tones after pressing a volume or memory button.

The app uses the proximity sensor in the iPhone and will play the tones as soon as the phone is close enough to your head. Once you figure this out, though, this is a very handy app for anyone using the S-Series hearing aids!

### 4/5 — Sleak Re-design but removed a key feature

*2026-01-28*

Love the new redesign of the app. I’ve had starkey for few years now. Been using this app on a daily basis.

Although I enjoy the functionality and ease of this app, I do feel like the new update has removed a key feature.

On the previous application - I was able to place a finger over my light detection (which is next to the front camera), screen would temp turn off, it would immediately sound the tone. I did not have to wait 3 seconds before the tone actually hit.

In this new update, even if I hide the light detection, my screen does not turn off, and I also have to constantly wait 3 seconds.

There should be a toggle to turn off the waiting period.

### 4/5 — Neat trick

*2020-12-02, version 3.3*

When the default volume just isn’t right, this is a really neat trick to adjust one or both of the “bionic ears”.

### 4/5 — My new Starkey!!

*2018-09-06, version 3.2*

Have only just started to use the app, & so far, am enjoying using it.
It will be great not having to call on my patient audiologist / consultant to ‘ fix’ the hearing level via his computer, when at times it seems to slip!
I’m an old but active woman, love all the new technology, so this is quite an exciting venture.
I’m reluctant to give it star quality at present, but would certainly register it at a later date.

### 4/5 — Starkey app

*2018-01-26, version 3.2*

Works well with my Starkey hearing aid and my iPhone and iPad.

### 4/5 — Actually works very well if you play with it a bit

*2013-12-07*

Recently received my hearing aids and started using this app. I found it initially difficult to use as it appears to attempt to tune both side simultaneously but only update one or the other. The louder I set the volume control on the app the worse it seem to be. I decided to play with a bit and lowered the volume close to the lowest input and then use it to tune each ear individually. This works virtually hundred percent of the time .now I use it all the time with no problems

### 4/5 — Useful for novice, need to be improved

*2013-11-01*

I think for a veteran hearing aids user, this app is even less useful than the number pad. However, if this app could produce command beep from the earpiece, all will be changed: my iPhone 5S can only make the beep from loudspeaker which may disturb others nearby me in a quite place. The resolution of the interface also need to be changed. Finally, I love starkey!

### 4/5 — Nice but needs more work.

*2011-08-02*

It works, so better than having no control. Remote was 500$ more, so app saved me $500. I would like to see what volume my hearing aids are at when I am adjusting them. Also, it seems to me that I press the + or- symbols once and it will adjust accordingly, once. If you want to adjust the volume higher, you have to press the appropriate symbol, hold the phone to your ear, wait for the beeps, and then repeat the process to achieve desired volume. Fix this, and also allow me to see visually what power level my aids are amplifying, and this app gets 5 stars. Keep up the good work!
