## What is Starkive Manifest?

Starkive Manifest is an IT asset register for the people who have to answer for the hardware: what you own, who holds it, where it is, and the evidence an auditor will ask for.

The iPhone app is a complete register on its own, and a Mac is optional. It keeps its own copy, so you can record an asset at the rack with no signal. The Mac app is the full desk, with every report and the deeper compliance work. One subscription covers both.

HAVE A LOOK FIRST, FREE

It's free to download. Open the demo from the first screen: a made-up company with 1,000 assets, its people, contracts, jobs and paperwork, plus six things to try. It's free for three days from the moment you open it. No card, and nothing of yours goes in it.

RAISE IT HERE, PICK IT UP THERE

Raise a job on your iPhone and pick it up on your Mac, or the other way round, when the two are paired or both on Starkive Cloud. Jobs and requests sit together in Work, each with a number like JOB-0001 or REQ-0001. Give a job to the team, a person or a device, then claim it, report it done and have someone else check it.

TAP A TAG, OPEN THE RECORD

Write an NFC tag from a record and stick it on the machine. Then a tap of your iPhone opens that record. If the app is closed, iOS may show a banner to tap first. The tag holds a link, never the record itself.

EVERYTHING IN FIVE TABS

Home, Assets, Scan, Work and Compliance. Home puts what needs you first.

Open an asset and four things sit at the top: who has it, where it is, when it was last verified and the warranty. Verify comes up when a check is due, and editing is one form with one Save. If it's missing something your audit needs, it says so, with one next step for each. Nothing is recorded until you do it.

YOUR DATA, YOUR MACHINES

Choose a local register and it's a file on your own device. No account, no telemetry, and none of your inventory reaches us. We only get the support messages you send. A Mac and an iPhone can sync straight to each other over your own network, and the Mac only listens if you switch that on.

Or choose Starkive Cloud, hosted in the United States, to sync without sharing a network. Even then the fields that matter most (regulated scope, disposal witnesses, sanitisation certificates, each asset's lease rent, condition notes, custom field values and every photo) are encrypted on your device with a key we never receive.

BUILT FOR AN AUDIT

Built on open standards: ISO/IEC 19770 concepts and NIST SP 800-88 sanitisation categories.

The audit trail can't be edited from the app, because that's what makes it evidence. A stamp that records an action is written by doing the action, never typed, so "verified" means somebody verified it. In Starkive Cloud the trail is also kept on our servers, where the apps can add to it but can't change or remove it.

IN THE FIELD

Read an asset tag, barcode or serial with the camera, and if it reads more than one, tap the right one. A sweep records what it saw and never claims more.

WHAT YOU GET

On iPhone and Mac:
• Every asset in one register, searchable by tag, serial, model, person or site
• Custom fields, even ones that stay on your devices
• Contracts, vendors, consumables and reorder points
• People, and who holds which device
• Compliance: which evidence reports are ready, and what's still missing
• An evidence pack mapped to the controls it covers

On the Mac: a customisable asset table, directory sync from Okta or Microsoft Entra, CSV import, repairs and RMAs, and plain-English dashboards.

Plans are monthly auto-renewing subscriptions. Each plan says how many assets it holds and how many devices can use it at once, from 5 to 100, your own included. If a subscription ends, your register stays readable and exportable, and only adding and editing stop. Starkive Cloud deletes its copy 30 days later, after emailing you twice.

## Version history (last 5 releases)

### 1.2.1 — 2026-09-27

Here's what's new.

- Adding an asset by hand now asks for its serial number. If your kit doesn't have serials, an admin can switch that off in the gear > Fields.
- Compliance now counts a serial like "N/A" as missing, so your figures may move a little.
- Fields, in the gear, lists your asset fields. An admin can show or hide each one, make it required, and put your own fields in order. GL account and IP address stay out of the way until they're filled in or switched on.
- Show assets by: name your assets by tag, serial number or hostname, in Fields. Labels and NFC tags keep working.
- A new asset record. Every field sits in one list, grouped into Identity, Assignment and the rest, with where each value came from underneath. Search a record's fields, and pick extra details to show under Columns.
- Put your own fields where they belong, in Identity, Financial or any other group.
- Find devices on your network and add them. Assets > + > "Find it on the network". Tick a few, then add each one with its serial.
- A quieter Verify. It only shows up when a check is due. The rest of the time it's on the Last verified row.
- Tap the eye next to a field to see what it's for. Admins can write a line for their own fields.
- API keys are now Connected apps, with plain words on what a key can and can't do.
- Your devices and People say who you are, like Owner or Admin, and new devices wait there for you to approve.
- Inviting someone is simpler. When they open the invitation, the app helps them make their sign-in, and Sign in with Apple works too.
- Settings starts with where your register lives, and says less. The details are behind the eye.
- A new demo: six things to try, like tapping a tag and reading a label. Each one ticks off when you do it.
- A new look. More fits on the screen, and Assets, People, Consumables, Contracts and Vendors are in the menu under the Assets title. On iOS 26 and later, the tab bar tucks away as you scroll. Empty lists and Settings have pictures now.
- Type a new department or pick one you already use, and the spelling stays the same everywhere.
- Fixed: an owner could be told they weren't the owner.
- Lots of fixes and polish.

### 1.2 — 2026-09-24

Here's what's new.

- Raise a job on your iPhone and pick it up on your Mac, or the other way round, when the two are paired or both on Starkive Cloud. Work is a new tab for jobs and requests. Each gets a number, like JOB-0001 or REQ-0001. Give a job to the team, a person or a device, then claim it, report it done and have someone else check it. Done work keeps its number. On iOS 26.1 and later, the job you're on sits just above the tab bar.
- A new look, with five tabs: Home, Assets, Scan, Work and Compliance. Settings is now the gear at the top of Home.
- A new Home. What needs you comes first, like a lost or stolen machine, a decision or your own jobs, each with one button. Then four figures, each opening its list, and your assets, compliance and what's ending soon at a glance.
- A new app icon.
- It's faster. Switching tabs and opening a record are quicker, and searching Assets keeps up as you type, even with a thousand assets.
- Records you can read at a glance. Who has it, where it is, when it was last verified and the warranty sit at the top. Each section is a card, empty fields fold into "Not recorded", and a bar at the top jumps to any section. The asset tag is full size, with its status just under it.
- Verify and Flag sit in a bar at the bottom of the record, within reach of your thumb.
- Editing is one form. Tap Edit, change what you need, then press Save once.
- Writing an NFC tag and showing the label now sit at the top of a record's ⋯ menu.
- Once your compliance scope is set, each asset shows what it's still missing, with one next step for each, like Verify, Confirm or Add. It reads as a to-do, not an alarm, and following one never records anything by itself.
- Compliance has its own tab, with how many reports are ready, your biggest gaps first, each with one next step, and a progress bar for each framework.
- Clearer navigation. The chips along the top of Assets, a record, Work and Compliance all look and work the same, and the accent colour is kept for things you can tap.
- Better accessibility. VoiceOver says what you've just recorded, like "HVGE-0229 verified", and Increase Contrast now strengthens the app's lines and faint text.
- A calmer demo. A "Demo" pill at the top shows the days left and holds the guided tour, "What am I looking at?", plans and the way out, and the made-up company has a week of IT jobs to look through.
- Pairing with a Mac for the first time? If your iPhone has been working on its own, it asks before sending the assets you recorded, and checks tags, and serial numbers on an up-to-date Mac, so one machine isn't added twice.
- Lots of fixes and polish.

### 1.1.01 — 2026-09-20

Minor updates to the app description.

### 1.1 — 2026-09-19

Here's what's new in 1.1.

- No more free trial. Instead there's a free demo: a made-up company with 1,000 assets, all filled in. Open it from the first screen and look round for three days, counted from when you open it, not from install. Your own register needs a plan. Already in a free trial? It runs to the end.
- Compliance on iPhone. See which frameworks apply, which evidence reports are ready, and what's still missing. Tap anything missing and it opens the exact field that fills it. Share the whole evidence pack from your phone.
- Attestations are performed now, not typed. Accepting a policy, reviewing regulatory scope and verifying encryption are each an act, recorded with who did it and when. Dates typed in before this update are kept and shown, but they no longer count as evidence, so a report that read as ready may now show a gap. Do the act once and it clears.
- The demo has a short guided tour, and "What am I looking at?" explains whichever screen you're on.
- A shorter setup, the same on iPhone and Mac.
- Your register carries your organisation's name at the top, with where it lives underneath.
- Custom fields on iPhone. Start from ready-made fields for each kind of device, and mark any field "Keep off Starkive Cloud" so it stays on your own devices.
- New audit fields on every asset: operating system, business use, device management, end of support, due back, received, GL account, invoice, depreciation and more.
- Lost or stolen devices can come off book value. The app asks first and records who decided.
- See what's announcing itself on the network you're on, after you confirm you're allowed to scan it.
- Three looks: Daybreak, Twilight and Midnight. Twilight, the violet starfield, is the new default. Settings > Appearance.
- More detail for consumables, contracts and vendors, and every request keeps its history.
- IP addresses are typed in by you and stay on your own devices. They never go to Starkive Cloud.
- Lots of fixes and polish.
