The app is okay and the jobs are good, but the options to search a job by name or company would be nice. Poor integration with email too. I got emailed a job but couldn’t view it in app - and because there’s no option to search jobs by name I now can’t find it on the app. Small quality of life fixes would make this app so much more user friendly! Please add 🥹 5* otherwise!

Literally the second time I’ve paid for a subscription and app is still showing me the free version and has an error saying that the subscription has been claimed by another email?!

Was planning on auditioning on a number of projects today but am unable to.

As a recent user of the App and Website, I find it can be a bit glitchy.
The app sometimes doesn’t allow you to choose your age range, location and distance etc and then unable to proceed and search.
Same with the website, despite putting in specific filters, results are not in line with these.
Could be much slicker and better. Alerts for jobs where talent meet certain criteria would be useful.

I have been receiving delayed messages from casting directors. Some couple of days to display on my messages, some after 2months!

I have been monitoring both app and web and the problem is still happening

The app doesn’t work properly, it keeps freezing. And whoever designed this upgrade has a long-winded way to get to any step. Plus the actual job advertised won’t open directly from emails or the banner notification. It just opens the app on the landing page

I like the app of applied for a few jobs in which I got selected, but I received the inboxes that were sent to me 20 days before requesting for auditions the next day and I receive it today
I think there’s some issue with that. Could you guys fix the bug?

When I was trying to make a account with Starnow it asked me for my ‘Mandy’ Password then I went to Mandy it said it looks like you already have an account which I didn’t have so it told me to use my ‘backstage’ or ‘Starnow’! password which I was trying to find in the first place!

you have to have a subscription plan to use the app really which is okay but once you subscribe you can’t UNSUBSCRIBE they keep taking money out of ur account despite trying to end it not happy at all

I’ve been using StarNow for 14 years. Got a couple of diamond fantasy jobs from it and through one of those, a best friend who casts me in everything he now writes and produces. 

Sadly it is now an ugly unusable copy of Backstage. I’ve been using backstage for almost 2 years and I HATE it. The second year subscription only happened because I forgot to switch off auto renew. 

Well done Backstage. You’ve messed up what was an awesome site. I’ve cancelled all subscriptions and will just leave it to my agent from now on. 

I hope you go under because of this.

I’ve been using starnow for over a year and honestly it was my favourite app for jobs, I’ve recieved some of the best jobs on there but. On using the new layout is horrible and makes me not want to use it at all, I wouldn’t recommend. The functionality doesn’t work, it doesn’t refresh properly and the messaging is difficult and complicated.

This app used to be great but the complete overhaul has removed basic functionality like the ability to precisely sort jobs that you are looking for, it shows hundreds of jobs that I don’t even fit my sort criteria. You used to be able to archive/hide jobs that you’ve reviewed but are not interested in, but now you have to sift through every job which is impossible when there are hundreds. When i apply for a job it is impossible to rearrange the photos, the interface is completely broken

I have been with StarNow for years, I have been locked out of my account while in contact with an agent for an extra role, I have now lost this offered role due to this.  Despite asking for help and support to get back into my account that I am paid up to October…there has been nothing.  Emailing them on the app is a joke, it doesn’t go anywhere!! I am beyond angry, disappointed, let down by StarNow.

### 1/5 — Paid Twice – Still Can’t Use the App

I’ve tried subscribing to StarNow twice, and both times the payment went through successfully via Apple. But despite being charged, I’m still unable to activate my membership or apply for any jobs. The app continues to show “Activate Your Membership” and offers no option to restore purchases, even though support told me to try that.

This experience has been frustrating and time-consuming. For an app that is meant to support creatives and performers, the subscription and account integration process should be much smoother. Please improve the in-app subscription system so users don’t waste both time and money just trying to access what they’ve paid for.

I subscribed to a $19.99 plan through the App Store, I connected the same email with the star now app. The plan wasn’t showing on the app and kept stating ‘upgrade now’. I emailed the support team and they kept sending me links for troubleshooting. I said there’s no link there to assist. The support team seems to be an offsite call centre. I ended up giving up, let the plan run out and unsubscribing. I’ll be using another talent app.

I have been with this fantastic artist Platform, Star Now for many years. I have seen it grow from strength to strength. I’ve had Major work in all my fields of expertise, (Acting, Hosting, Modeling Print and catwalk), from all corners of our glorious world. When I lived in Australia heaps of work there. Back in New Zealand even with Lockdown work hasn’t slowed down. This Site is one of the BEST and most COST effective  ways of putting yourself in front of clients in a safe and friendly environment.
